Morse Code Reader & Recorder - G0HYN RX Morse
Although there are a number of user adjustable parameters (filter, gain, levels), I have tried to make the decoding as automatic as possible using the start up defaults. This should allow you to simply put your device close to an audio source (radio, WEBSDR, etc.) and see decoded text when a reasonable morse signal is present.
I say reasonable, as it will not dig out a weak signal from noise of the same level, but it will attempt to boost a morse tone if detected...
It can also if desired, record the incoming audio (unaltered) for later playback. This allows you to try different setting on the same audio for maximum decode (sort of a training aid if you like).
There is an inbuilt file selector that points into the devices storage area where the apps recorded files are kept, allowing you to replay current and older audio recordings. It also allows you to share the recording files with other apps that can handle .wav format.
Help screen explaining operation and each control is accessible via the menu function.

BEST decoder app I have found! Wow! Tried deciding from a YouTube video and it was amazing. Not perfect copy because the audio was horrible on YouTube (lots of clipping), but I am thoroughly impressed and love this app! Great work!!!!
I've found both this and your tutor software excellent for someone returning to the hobby Any chance of adding landscape view functionality to this proramme? It would then work excellent on tablet sat on a desk mount then. Great work. 👍
I downloaded this app this morning. I came in to try it on the HF radio and noticed a black stripe down the RHS of the screen about 1.5cm wide.and 2/3 the height. To the left of the stripe, the rest of the screen has like a screen overlay. This is the same area as the app takes up. A screenshot is normal, doesn't show the fault. So, I would beware of loading this app. Might be just my phone which is 4 years old, but all was OK until I ran it. Robbie, can you contact me on Messenger and I will send a photo. It's a Samsung Core SM-G360G, Android 5.1.1 a bit over 4 years old.
Great application for decoding morse heard somewhere, or for checking your own morse sending while practising. The application is quite good at decoding, even in difficult circumstances.
Couldn't get it to work on a Samsung Galaxy A8. Despite giving app microphone permissions, it would never record audio and kept crashing.
Loving the app! Too bad is only reader, I would love to see an option to write some text in to it and have the app convert it in to morse code - sound and visual [hint for an upgrade;)]
With my Galaxy Note 9 I would give it 5 stars, but it doesn't work with UI One V2.5 or Android 10. Says it is for an older version of Android and missing files.
Cannot decode .I tried a windows software,free, that worked perfectly but this app refuses to display text correctly.
Outstanding! I deleted all my other morse decoders as they don't even come close to the quality of this app.

used this for a CTF
Spent a long time adjusting the filter and center frequency to match my radio BFO. Developer, consider adding an "output CF tone" function to make it easier to match radio tones to what the app expects. Otherwise i got over 50% correct character decodes. Not useful in a QSO but good enough for beacons.
It would probably be good if I could get it to work. The app opens and appears to hear my code since there is a line that seems to be a visual response to an incoming sound and the pattern on that line seems related to what I send but there is no decoded text appearning. The help suggests "press a button for details" but it is unclear what the icons representing the buttons represent and none have so far given a response that helps figure out how to turn on the decode function. This is less than intuitive and I'm not a neophyte on software interfaces.
This is a nice little audio decoder. It works pretty decently. Good job to the developer, this is non-trivial.
Maybe you can tell me how to use the filter? It works very well and is about 90% correct copy when properly toned in and 2db over the noise floor minimum. 73's and god bless.
This app does not work
Sorry but it just doesn't work.
This app only knows T and E. It does not recognize the most basic sounds such as CQ CQ CQ DE . It does not know .-.-.- either.-.-.- Perhaps someome will say its my phone, yes..--.. this was tested using youtube video hallicrafters s38 restoration part 1 which is clear tone.

Installed and working on two Android 10 Pixels. Thank you for putting so much effort into this free application. Ive had zero issues with the application installing and running. Decoding CW in noisy conditions is hard for anyone and hard for apps too. That's totally understandable. Again thank you.
