Morse Trainer for Ham Radio
If you are a ham radio (amateur radio) operator or just want to learn morse code.With a lot of settings it is very comfortable to adjust Morse Trainer to your current level.
The following settings are available:
- Frequency (200
- 2200Hz)
- Waveform (sine / triangle)
- Fading (to reduce click at the end of a dot or dash)
- Speed (2Wpm
- 52Wpm)
- Farnsworth speed
- Spacing (spacing between dots or dashes)
- Dot-Dash Ratio (length ratio of dashes compared to dots)
- Letter Spacing (Space between letters)
- Word Spacing (Space between words)
Five different learning modes are available in Morse Trainer
- Random groups of X mode: Morse Trainer will play groups of X randomly selected letter, numbers or special characters. X can be an amount between 1-9. Those characters can be individually selected. If you want to learn just "s","i" and "e" just select the 3 letters and Morse Trainer will create groups of X with those 3 letters.The characters can also be chosen from 20 lessons of the Koch method.
- Real ham radio callsign mode: Morse Trainer will randomly play real amateur radio callsign from a database of 5000 callsigns which appeared in Contests over the last couple of years.
- QSO text mode: Morse Trainer will play randomly play QSO text. The database consists of 300 different qso texts.
- Most common English words mode: Morse Trainer will play randomly the 500 most used English words.
- Own text mode: Enter your own text and Morse Trainer will play it over and over again.
- Ebook mode: Text files can be loaded from SD card
Morse Trainer is priced less than the cost of a fancy coffee and it is a great app to learn and improve you CW speed away from your amateur radio station or your PC.

Very versatile, works really well, you can configure so many parameters. The only thing I miss is a delay before the message starts, or an intro sequence like VVV. Screen darkening doesn't work. I'm halfway through, looking forward to my 1st CW QSO. 73 de OE3SPR
A great app. Very, very helpful in learning Morse. There is one minor but v annoying bug with v2.28 though. My phone screen occasionally rotates while I'm marking myself. Although the rotate to landscape is ok the CW text deletes itself when the screen rotates back to portrait.
I have found this app to be brilliant. So glad to have purchased it. Now copying 20 wpm. Just have increased the space between words to 20, to give me a slightly longer break :) Copying actual QSO has taken a bit, but now getting 85%, callsigns were hardest, also adding numbers has added further difficulty, but overall very happy. Very good. I would really appreciate an option to turn off character and dat-dits display on the top row. You know, it's not worth a dime to learn those and they only confuse. Now the option is to hide that part of display or close eyes.
I was looking for app that can follow me as I learn code. I have the CDs from Gordon West and I want to learn a character or two from the cd training and then use this app to randomize the characters I'm learning to reinforce that. When I get good at the characters I'm at, then I can go to the next cd lesson rather than playing the lesson over and just memorizing them. Makes practice fun. 73!
I would give this app a 5 if not for the fact that eBook section has a size limit so it is not really an ebook. That is why I wanted it. I want to be able to actually read a book or at least a large text file. If you can't download a book, don't call it an eBook. Other than that, it's the most versatile and useful app for CW I have found.
An excellent morse code trainer that is very flexible. I can recommend it for all levels of mastery, from beginner to high speed expert.
Excellent flexibility for learning. Limited number or practice words, it needs 500 or 1000 most common words. You can copy and paste your own text which is nice.
Does a great job of playing CW. Letters, numbers, special characters, and words. But that isn't at helpful in learning to send CW. Copy, maybe. Just don't see how this would help anyone learn CW.
I love this app. I've tried numerous others but this is head and shoulders above the rest. I let it run while travelling and my cw has improved considerably.
This is a great tool to learn CW. Can you please add a feature so that the user can connect an iambic paddle via an OTG USB dongle? Let me know if you need a tester. 73
Outstanding app, getting back into ham radio after 14yrs layoff, brilliant tutor and my cw is improving, 5 stars, the only app you will ever need for CW.

Love this app and how it has helped me learn morse code. Would like to see a repeat feature, allowing the user to rehear the last code sent

Ebook does not work and no way to select characters you wish to learn must be corrupted file

This app is sufficient for beginning CW training. Sometimes the randomizing callsigns just don't make sense, sometimes the characters don't match the audio - especially so at slower speeds. So learning qso formats can be frustrating. It got me started but I think I'll be moving on.
