Very very slow to update, it usually takes 2 min to update a disturbance or left virtual boundary. I have seen up to 10 minutes. If broken into your valuables would be gone, if vehicle is stolen they would be long gone. Wish virtual boundary was adjustable but that probably wouldn't help because of the notification delays. Besides the aforementioned its ok.
I would rate better if the app didn't do so many updates & not much seems to change after updates. It's inconvenient because the app LOGS ME OUT every time it updates. My car was ransacked & I had no clue because the app logged me out when it updated. Fix that part! Other apps don't do that. Also, I do not use the maintenance feature but the app confuses me because the maintenance feature is always yellow. If I'm glancing quick, I panic thinking it's a service alert. It shouldn't ever be yellow.
I have Sync-Up Drive installed in 6 cars already. Very well designed device and app. Reasons for not giving 5-stars are: (1) Gas Station feature does not work in Puerto Rico; (2) in the 2017 BMW X5 started triggering the alarm and BMW said that was because of the off market device (Sync-Up Drive) installed on the OBD2 port.
I like the features, the app is simple and easy to use, and my family likes having wifi in the car. One big problem is the frequent alerts of a "possible disturbance" every time I open and close my doors. I would like it if there was a way to reduce false alerts such as a time window to receive these notices (such as overnight only, etc). Also the device itself is bulky and in my car poorly located: it sticks out and is right next to the foot e-brake.
This is a great app and device. The initial installation was very simple. It got complicated when I had to unpair it and repair it. The only complaint I have and it is a big one for me is the alerts for when the car is disturbed. Like someone bumping it, breaking a window, moving the car, etc. The audible alert only goes off once. I would like an option for it to continue to go off until acknowledged. The second problem with the alert is that there is now visual indicator on my home screen.
It's. Okay. I like the fact that I can see where the vehicle is at all times, can see any codes that come up, etc. But, my BIGGEST problem I have: I've got notifications turned off in the app for when trips have been started or finished. Where I may not receive these notifications, it still makes noise. I've got notifications turned off in the system settings for the app, yet, still makes noises. It overrides silent mode on the phone. HIGHLY annoying! Being that, decent app.
I've had problems with this app for a while now. Once, SyncUp showed me driving in the ocean near Africa, but I live in the US and I'm pretty sure my truck can't swim. The final straw for me came with the latest software update, which is an epic failure. A lot of features I onced cherished are now gone and there doesn't seem to be a way to undo these changes. Luckily, I still have the original on my old phone, but it's a hassel going back and forth between phones just to use this app. #Nightmare.
Works as advertised. Had my Sync up for 2 years and have experienced the same issue. i get a popup that i have 1 issue, go to mechanic to find out i have no issue. Once i unplug and plug it back, the issue notification goes to 0. The App looks better but doesn't improve on the overall experience. To me, it made it worse. Keep innovating and bringing out updates.
This is an amazing app, but the product is definitely sensitive. Opening my trunk or any slight movement in the car with the vehicle off I get constant notifications of a possible disturbance near my car when I'm in my own car. Also after parking at home or anywhere else the addresses listed for any trip are slightly off. Other than that everything else is perfect. Definitely recommend the application and product.
I've had this for almost 2 years. It worked almost perfectly that whole time. Following this latest update, I've had to uninstall the app and plan to cancel the service. As so many others have said, you ruined a product that worked fine by making it prettier while destroying functionality. Constant notifications (32 in the last 15 minutes) saying my car is traveling, at home, left home, at home, going over 79mph...all while it's off sitting right in front of me.
I love the accuracy of this app. I wish there was a way to add up all my business mileage. Now it's about a year later from my Note above and I actually found out a way to count my mileage each day. I can upload it into my computer and then send it to my accountant and she puts it in a program that automatically counts all of the mileage. It took a bit to get it all set up. I had to make 5 trips to my local T-Mobile store and sit for hours while they worked through all the issues. The first set of devices the customer service rep bricked by removing the SIM numbers, so I had to wait for new ones. The last trip they had to put in my cars info because the app was frozen with the old device info. But once all this was done they started working and perform great! The geo-fencing and car reports are very helpful and accurate.
I've had this 3 years and about a week ago it stopped working. It states that the device is unplugged from my car. It's not unplugged. I've unplugged it, reset, and restarted the device. When it worked, it was amazing. The WiFi was awesome. I loved the disturbance feature and seeing all the different places I would drive. I'm not happy now.
*** Changed to 5 star review. I recently updated to the newly released version of the app and have not had issues. Not sure if it was the ticket was resolved or the update to the app but either way I am now good to go!*** I have had an ongoing issue with my sync up drive since November. I loved it and was told they would fix it. I have spoken to tech support too many times to count and they've done everything and I'm very happy with them for all they've tried to do but I'm still having issues.
I received a message letting me know my sprint drive would be retired and I needed to update my device. What a disappointment this has been. I depended on the current and up to date information the sprint app gave. The new information is just shy of useless. I hope this is fixed in the future. Even the wifi quality has been terrible. If you're going to show commercial after commercial about how great your service is then stand by it and make it great...
