Moto Actions

Not sure if this is the correct forum for suggestions regarding volume controls for notifications and ring tones, but it seems to me separating these two functions makes a lot of sense. When going into a meeting one may want to silence the phone calls but have a soft low vol notification to be made aware of the incoming communication without disrupting the meeting.

Moto G Power 2021. Having to drag up and hold the menu bar on the bottom of the screen to open Recent Apps is annoying--it seems more like a bug. The bar also does not act as a button. The bar worked well on the Moto G7 Plus. Can you make it the same? Also, no 'gesture' option to remove the distracting and time-wasting 'edit screenshot' popup.

Update: Not sure if it really was a sensor being blocked but it does appear to be working again. Physically, I changed nothing. --- Original Issue: It worked fine for a while but recently the Fast Flashlight Motion Gesture stopped working. I've enabled and disabled it several times. I've power cycled the phone. It was my most used feature. Without it, the app is pretty useless. Moto G Power (2021 Edition)

The only gesture that ever worked for me was the flashlight. I hated the gesture navigation, and I had to search online for how to turn that off, and turn my navigation buttons back on. I only upgraded to 2 stars, because turning the flashlight on and off with a gesture looks cool, and it's really convenient.

I LOVE everything about this! But I think the night display is not customizable enough. I alwas have it on max, but when I turn it off, I don't really see a difference. Other phones go from white to yellow some even to orange, red or blue. This just goes from white to a little bit yellowish. And because it's not really effective I had to install a blue light filter. But sadly it can't apply the filter on the notification bar and lock screen. Please fix this. Then I will give 5 stars.

I wish I could switch the Back button and Recent Apps button. It shouldn't be hard to implement, it's just software. This app even includes a "one button" feature in one of the example images but it doesn't show on my phone. This makes my moto g power very difficult to use since I am right handed and the Back button is on the left side of the phone. Samsung phones offer the option, at lower prices as well. Why doesn't motorola try to implement this into their phones too??? I don't understand.

It is a good thing that this was bundled with my phone for free, because I would never pay for software so unreliable. When it works, it's a wonderful convenience, but for the last month fast flashlight and quick capture randomly decide to stop working, and start working again with just as much randomness. Very convenient when it works, very inconvenient that it stops working so frequently

none of it works. yes, it's turned on. yes, i'm making the gestures correctly. yes, obviously I tried turning it off and on, restarting the phone, forced stop, etc. etc. etc. when so many users have the same complaint, the "have you tried turning it off and on again?" standard tech response just increases the irritation.

I don't use any of the features of this app yet, without fail, every night when my phone is plugged in and charging (with charger that came with phone) it will turn itself on and make the most annoying noise that wakes me up. It will go on for about a minute, stop, and start back up 2 minutes later. Only way to stop it is to unplug the charger or turn the phone off completely. MAKE IT GO AWAY PLEASE!!!!

They got rid of night mode turning on at sunset. Automatic mode made night mode come on right before I went to bed which means all evening my eyes are picking up blue light. I loved having night mode come on at sunset it made looking at my phone in the evenings so much easier on my eyes. That was a great feature please bring it back. As of now I have turned off the automatic feature in favor of the manual time setting so night mode kicks in as close to sunset as I can get it because once I go to bed I'm no longer looking at my phone so I need night mode on all evening not just close to my bedtime. Edit, response to Moto action team: Thanks for your response. I will still be leaving my phone in manual mode. I really prefer having night mode on while it is dark. I have never noticed night mode to actually induce sleepiness and prefer a dimmer screen while driving with the GPS as it reduces the glare in my face and windows so I can see outside of my vehicle better. If you really want my suggestion for improving the app it is this: have all 3 options available. We have so many different people with different needs. I am sure automatic mode works great for some people, others will prefer manual and by the comments I've seen, myself and many others prefer sunset mode. So let's have them all available then everyone can be happy.

I don't care for split screen. It's pretty annoying to use. But I noticed the company kept such a pointless feature over the shrink feature. The Moto G Power is big. I sometimes catch cramps in my hand from only having one hand available to type (I use public transportation and sometimes you don't get a seat). I can no longer find the feature anywhere. Every other feature is fairly fine.

The old version to swipe UP to shrink the screen was much much easier. The new version takes several tries before it reacts at all, and even then the screen scrolls along with the swipe action so you lose your place and have to scroll back. Why was this even changed? It was perfect the way it was.

Motorola actions is so convenient and easy to use. Honestly it is one of the reasons motorola is still an excellent phone manufacturer and I look forward to their continuous use of these gestures in their phones. The "chop" motion flashlight has become the go to way to quickly turn on my flashlight, and has proved it's worth over and over when I need my flashlight fast without worrying about phone navigation in a tight spot.

I found a major bug when 'swipe to split' in on. It causes unwanted toast messages to appear in some apps. It's been driving me crazy for weeks. If I select several SMS messages to delete, the toast messages appear 1 message.. 2 messages.. etc very slowly. It's not related to *time to take action* settings, they are set to default. These toast messages don't appear when swipe to split is set to off! How is it possible for this feature to cause so many problems?? I won't be using it anymore 😡

fingerprint features are often misinterpreted. sometimes navigation buttons are displayed for a second after unlocking the device. the 'block screen with the fingerprint' feature is the worst thing ever and you can't even turn it off! i cannot use the fingerprint to log in into apps, my screen just gets turned off and nothing happens

This particular additional app is NOT needed! It's features are completely useless, annoying & distracting! The Absolutely WORST issue is it's solid display screen being centered to become always-in-your-way, blocks the entire middle viewing area of lens eye view for all the pics you're taking! It interferes with all camera settings your currently using to get that perfect picture! Lastly, screen doesn't disappear until after picture is taken! This app proves it's NOT user-friendly & annoying!

The fast flashlight feature has stopped working on my phone. When I first got my phone it worked fine but then I noticed that sometimes it wouldn't work the first few times I'd shake my phone. Now it's completely stopped working. No matter how much I shake my phone the flashlight will not turn on. I use my flashlight a lot.

Most of the Moto actions are awesome but the Attentive Display feature doesn't work and that is what i need the most when reading. During the demo/testing it works perfectly but when you turn it on and try to use it in reality, even in broad daylight it still allows the screen to go off. This should be fixed/greatly improved.

I find the flashlight feature useful occasionally, but the face down to enter do not disturb is just plain stupid. I've never met anyone whom this little known "feature" hasn't caused them to miss important phone calls, and they have no idea why, and only much later do they find out the cause and disable it (only to have updates reenable it). I know 2 people who were fired for failing to respond to calls from work because of this. Default this to being off, please.

Update stopped all motion activated features from working properly half the time. Updated the app to the most recent version and now flashlight/camera no longer activate when I do the required motions. I used the flashlight feature a lot for work as it was a reliable, ready source of light, and now it's decided it wants to work maybe half the time.

Would give it zero stars if I could, does not include fingerprint reader navigation on the more "premium" phone. After lots of research, I bought the "lesser" model X4 for my mom and brother when they needed a new phone. After being impressed with it, and needing a new phone myself, I bought the more expensive X4 One edition, and the ONE feature I really liked, and wanted, was the fingerprint sensor navigation. Why did you disable it? the store page even advertised the feature.

The split screen option is annoying and hard to active. It takes several tries to get the app to spit screen, I had an older Moto, where it was much easier. just drag the window to the top of the screen where it says so and it'll split easily. It'd be great to have that feature back.

I absolutely love the features but beyond the first several months of the phone being brand new this app seems to cause more problems the the convenience of "quick" actions that is it's primary purpose. And my biggest concern is that there is ABSOLUTELY NO WAY to keep it from turning on and causing the phone to lock up and or slow to a unusable crawl!

Please put back sunrise/sunset settings in night mode. I dont want to change start time every 5 days! And how to choose between manual and automatic mode?!?! App was good until last update. Now is confusing and less intuitive!!! Plus, it will turn on night mode when i am sleeping?!?! Admit you are wrong and put back sunrise/sunset option!

i hate gestures and do not understand why it was put on my phone. Should be an option to put on for those that want it and not mandatory. Another useless app taking up space and constantly coming up do you want to try it. Even after dismissing it comes back up. Had to finally force stop and disable it, knowing when I have to restart for an update it will turn back on.

took a while to get used to the one button and the five actions it does but after i got used to it, its great. I was also really surprised buy the gestures for commands. I like it lol. Only thing is I wish there was a transparency option or hide option for some full screen viewing. Big white bar while streaming full screen on some sites can be distracting.

It stopped working. I've been using motorola phones since 2016 and have never had a problem with them. Now I have a g7 play. I've had this phone for about 6 months and suddenly the flick flashlight, camera shake, and all the ones that require you to move your phone in a certain manner have just stopped. Not sure if it's an issue I can fix issue or it's an actual psychical problem with my phone. Really hope I can get them back tho because they are very useful.

I like most of the actions in this app, but according to the update notes from October, I should have access to Night Display, and I don't. Third party apps keep turning off randomly and hurting my eyes because of the blue light, and all I want is a reliable filter. Why can't I find the filter?!
