Moto Voice for Alexa

I like the idea, so I tried it. Unfortunately it is less capable than Amazon's Alexa app. I cannot ask it to play music on an echo for example. It's also less capable than Google Assistant. I can't ask it for directions, to launch an app, to send a text, etc. Finally, what lead me to remove this is that I have Echo devices all over my house already and having a phone in my hand that responds to the same trigger word means I can't control anything properly. Google Assistant seems better.

I like having this on my x4. A lot of complaints by others, about lack of features such as reminders and music. This is unfortunate but I don't think it's a reflection of the app. Amazon doesn't allow any of those features except on Echo speakers, probably because if they did, people wouldn't have an incentive to buy the Amazon Echo devices to get access to full Alexa functionality. So yeah, I think this app is great.

Doesn't respond to my voice 90% of the the. Restarted my phone, did the Moto "Alexa' voice training, and the Alexa app voice recognition phrases successfully. Then when it comes to trying it out she (Alexa) doesn't respond. Obviously there's a bug that needs to be fixed in the product. Very disappointed in it. ☹️

This garbage app was automatically installed in an update for my moto x4 and doesn't have an uninstall option. I've force stopped and disabled it multiple times and it keeps reappearing in my app drawer just like the turd that won't flush. If you're going to dump bloatware on my phone at least have the common courtesy to include a way to scrape it off.

This is better than the previous version. I love how they integrated alexa on the quick action panel on Android 9 update for moto x4. The alexa display cards are latest, seems like a mobile display of amazon echo show. Unlike the Android 8 version, it felt and looked so different. This is really a big improvement for moto x4 users.

So I like many were having issues with the voice featurewith the Alexa app and then I figured out what the problem was that not only do you have to have the Moto mod slap the back you also need to have your Bluetooth on as well and that seems to solve the problem everything works great now no complaints awesome device don't know how much I use Alexa cuz Google honestly just works better in my opinion but the speakers are fantastic and I can atleast use her to open my music.

7.15 if i continue to say Alexa over and over pausing between words she sometimes wakes. Sometimes she wakes and shuts right back off. 6.25 Phone Z4 will not allow Alexa to work. Alexa respond by nice for the first few minutes then nothing until i toggle the controls. i bought this for Alexa. Can activate Alexa by touch but that's not why i switched phones. oh if it works, it works great.

This is has become a must have app for me. I use the Alexa functionality literally every day. I do wish it had all the features my home echo does (especially calling.... It is on my phone after all) but even with these omitions it's still a fantastic addition to my Moto phone and is one of the many reasons I'm sticking with Motorola.

Pointless and useless if you also have an echo gadget. When I want to hear music on the echo gadget, the phone app responds quicker. But I don't want to hear the music on my phone. So I had to uninstall this app in order for Alexa to play music on the echo gadget.

I love Alexa. My whole house is automated. I have a Show, two Dots, and a Flex. The speaker works nicely, but the Alexa end of it is glitchy. Alexa pops up asking for clarification for no reason constantly, or she answers questions never asked. The Moto speaker and Moto Alexa is the only thing I have any problems with.

I keep getting alerts that this has crashed when I restart my phone. I don't even have it set up. I want to have my own wake word. It appears it needs to be Alexa. Either fix the app or remove it.

Im trying to finish set up for moto voice for alexa, but it always says, "find a quite place and the enrollment will start automatically." I have been trying this at a very quiet place since i have received the update but still its showing the same message. Kindly share me, why this is happening and what is the solution for this error. Thank you.

This does not work with latest update to android. Please verify with version 9 os on the moto z3. Please post requirements and settings to get it working once you have documented it. and please stop asking your customers to go to the verizon store and try their smart speaker with other phones there.. do your own troubleshooting

I have a Moto G7 with Alexa built in. Had to uninstall the Alexa app on my Moto G7 then reinstall it for this app to work. When you uninstall it it really isn't uninstalled. Just update it then this app should work. Before the swap out you could say Alexa as much as you wanted and it would never respond. The notification would pop up but no response from Alexa. Now it works like it's supposed to even on the lock screen.

Wakes the phone and responds to command, "Alexa, send a text" then she asks me to who, and then the program stops and doesn't pick up the answer. Same problem with interactions that require more than one input.

Alexa doesnt respond 95% of the time. Also the timmer notification get stuck on the notification bar and the only way to delete it is to force stop the app. She does work ok if i talk to her by pressing the microphone button.

I would give this app negative 5 stars if it were an option! I installed the app and began voice training....that's were it ended. There is apparently not any place on Earth that is quiet enough for the required voice training! I am now going to uninstall it.

Alexa will answer maybe once or twice and then that's it. I've tried every suggestion, turning off Google Assistant, reinstalling etc. nothing works. Very disappointed.

Works fine on my Moto Z2 Force with Moto Mod Alexa speaker , Not working on Z3 Play or Z4. Moto Alexa icon only brings up a settings page, no Moto Alex page. Was one of the best things with the Alexa speaker. While you are at it in fixing this, make it work like Alexa Show when videos are available and the default pages for weather.

I don't use this app much, I use Amazon Alexa or Ultimate Alexa. This one Alexa is stupid and has a bad attitude. She will not for the life of me play any consecutive music. She will play 1at a time and then shut down. She doesn't know anything about anything I ask her, and says she doesn't have access to launch most commands. I have it just for Moto purposes

Most useless device I ever bought....actually we should call it spam... It doesn't provide to select songs, or call for radio stations... So what to do with it... Ask for the time and weather... Moto misleaded to buy Alexa speaker, as they don't have full functionality... Moto you cna do better than this...

What is the point of this app? I downloaded it thinking it would enable me to say "Alexa" and it would open Alexa. But I go to settings, it won't allow me to select voice activation. So i have to press the icon to open it, which is what i had to do before.

Amazon Alexa issue on my Moto x4. Installing Amazon Alexa causes issues with play Store and the notifications on my. Apps will not update or install and notifications are sporadic. When I uninstall Amazon Alexa I have no issues with phone but I can't use the hands free Alexa feature. Please fix

App would open by itself, often while I was driving, without prompting and would occasionally cause other apps to open. Uninstalled and problems stopped.

Spoiler alert: No equalizer. That's the only reason I got this app. Why else would I? The only redeeming function of the Alexa Moto Mod was it's speaker, which seems to be deliberately tuned poorly, so an official equalizer would actually be useful. Instead, we get a useless app for a defunct mod.

Works great, but be sure to disable Google assistant first. Alexa won't set up or in some cases won't hear you unless you disable the Google assistant.
