Can download just fine to my sony Tv (Google TV) and can't even sign into my account... NO SUPPORT FOR ANDROID.. and before you ask..MT my set is a Sony Bravia X90J
As others ar saying, navigation does not work at all on my AndroidTV so all I can do is sign up. I have already signed up so this doesn't help me. It also complains that it can't spy on me well enough so I have to change firewall settings (which I did and got past but still no joy). None of this is an issue on my Appletv. That's all this app does on my AndroidTV device. Nothing. FIX IT.
Wow, not a single positive review March to December and yet you still claim to support Android TV. I have the same problem, you cannot navigate AT ALL in the app to even sign in, so it's useless on Android TV. Luckily for me it works OK on Apple TV, though it's really laggy and takes forever to load episode lists every time, plus the ability to only store 10 shows in "My stuff" is needlessly limited. Obviously your app needs some work.
Installed on my Nvidia Shield: 1. No button on the remote works in video, I cannot pause/play/rewind/fast forward. I can adjust volume or back out of the video, nothing else. 2. Impossible to create a curated list, I can add an episode to favorites, but I can't add a show to favorites, so to watch a show I need to either search or browse, there is no need of that, just let me add the 4 shows I'm interested in as favorites so I can watch when I want.
The app will stop streaming and say stream unavailable. Then restart itself. You will hear the sound start back up but the screen just has the motortrend logo with the moving circle indicating loading. Then you have to exit the app and restart it to continue watching. It will do this 3 to 4 times while trying to watch a single episode of a show. I have no issues with any other streaming services or apps on my android Tv. This software is very buggy. I will likely be cancelling my subscription.
Paid for a subscription. This app won't even let me choose to sign in after the startup screen. The Signup button is highlighted and the only action I can take is to press that. Cannot select the Sign-in choice below it. How stupid is this? It's the most basic of functions. I've paid a year in advance for a subscription and this is unacceptable. Has to be fixed NOW.
Agree with previous commenter. App says my TV is installed but doesn't show up. If you pull the app from the android menu, it wants you to pay again and won't let you sign in. Christmas special wasn't available from the TV. Can see it on my computer, but not on the TV. Kind of misses the point.
Broken app on Android TV. When you open the app you cant sign in and cant move to other options. EVERYONE is having this problem so obviously its a app problem but Motor trend isnt responding to the tv app reviews only the mobile app ones. Doesnt matter anyway, all they say is contact them on the website which does NOTHING in the way of help. Good thing I'm still in the 7 day trial. I'm sure as hell not paying for a app that no one can use. Update: They didn’t even read my review which clearly states going to the website DID NOT HELP before responding with go to the website which I have already done. What morons are running that app?
After firmware update on my Sony TV all controls from remote now not responding!!! I cannot move left-right up down. Navigation in the App became impossible. Even to sign in you need to press down first. PLEASE FIX THIS - I like the content!! PS - re-install does not help. Cache clear - does not help.
what a pile of garbage, the app supposedly supports androidTV but when you try to run it, you can't move the cursor anywhere so you can't actually do anything with it. been this way for months, and apparently this company doesn't want to make their PAID SERVICE actually work.
Also having the same problem on a Tivo Stream 4k that's running Android TV (theoretically a supported platform). Works great on a FireTV but really, MotorTrend needs to fix their app. If I didn't already have the FireTV I would unsubscribe from MotorTrend and tell all my friends. Sad thing is that with the others who commented, it doesn't seem that MotorTrend cares enough to read the comments and fix the issue.
Looks like they still haven't updated the app to be usable. I installed and went to sign in and I can't navigate any of the menus. Even after putting my Email in, I can't go down to select continue. Absolutely broken. Uninstalled.
I downloaded this app to my Android tv after paying for it on-line. I can not get it to work. Only thing it will let me do is sign up for service again. The sign in button is greyed out and not usable.
Not sure about the app, but for sure I cannot get my two year old Sony (Android) to hook up. We have gone around and around with this, and it doesn't get anywhere. The TV log-in just stalls. But apparently I can view MT+ on my cornpuker. Woohoo.
Stupidly I thought this might work as my other steaming apps have. Now I come to read reviews that I am not alone. But here I am with a $45 plan and I can’t even login on my android tv. What a huge pile of garbage this is. Really disappointed I really thought its 2022, folks know how to make a steaming app work.
Just as everyone else is saying does not work on Android tv. I have a Sony Bravia and it will not let me navigate just sits on start your free trial. I already have the plan. Please fix this.
App only allows you to sign up for new trial. It doesn't allow you to sign in with an account you already have. Utter Garbage.
The app is great on my phone. I cannot watch from android smart TV as others have been complaining about. Is it typical for google not to respond to comments? From reading reviews this has been a problem for at least 3 months. Ridiculous
