This field manual details techniques soldiers and leaders must know to cope with mountainous terrain. These techniques are the foundation upon which the mountaineer must build. They must be applied to the various situations encountered to include river crossings, glaciers, snow-covered mountains, ice climbing, rock climbing, and urban vertical environments.

Even though some info about mountaineering is outdated, it is a neat app. Usefull as a pocket guide about various topics. And it's the only serious app about this subject.

Great info and well organized. Worth a read for any serious hiker or mountaineer. The only unavoidable downside is that it's large for a phone at 9MB.

I am not into military mountain style climbing like the ap is about I once went to avalanche preserve boyne city mich in upper lower michigan and its a hill free to public to climb but has steps or just climb it its a retired ski hill

This is awful. Real adventurers would say this is bogus. The climbing chapter is full of lies. I have climbed many mountains, and this is just a joke. There were a few credible things in here, but they were few and far between. The things the pictures show people "climbing" is super easy. What this calls a sheer face is something I could climb with my eyes closed. I am not necessarily a great climber, but I know bad stuff when I see it.
