While the app is not 100% perfect, it is extremely helpful and intelligent. It does separate workouts as you wish and it fits to your needs and wants. Ex ( If you do not have rings, but you do have a bar, you can just change the ring equipment and it will immediately put out an exercise suited for a bar.) Also the staff is super helpful and quick to answer, so it is easy to get new info in order to maximize you progress while keeping your body energized.

I just downloaded the app, paid for a subscription, and tried it for the first time. I'm not keen on working out, but I'm also not keen on getting flabby, so here we go. First impressions: The Good: This seems a well-thought-out app overall. It makes a good effort at tailoring the workout to your fitness level, and adjusts on the fly when it gets feedback on difficulty. The premise of body-weight exercises is attractive for someone trying to work out in their garage, but it falls a bit short - you do need some equipment. I was able to improvise on the fly, but eventually I'll need rings and bars and such. There are clear descriptions of the exercises within the workout routine, so it's pretty easy to get up to speed even for a beginner. The Bad: This one's a biggie: The app hijacks your audio. Come on, people, I'm trying to work out in my garage here! My phone is all I got! My music is an essential part of my workout routine! Yes, I used all the exclamation marks! !!! Also, the user interface is a bit frustrating to figure out. Everything's "touch here to continue" during setup and warmup, but when you get to the strength training all of a sudden you swipe right to continue - even when there's a big green button on the screen that says "GO!" Once you figure it out it's fine, but it is an annoying stumbling block on the learning curve. Also, I ended up having to input my vital stats three different times during the signup process. You'd think they'd get saved at some point, wouldn't you? The Ugly: Bait and switch! Really? It's all "Seven Day Free Trial" until you get to the subscription page. Then suddenly it's "Half off! Satisfaction guaranteed!" and no more mention of the free trial anywhere ever. Believe me, I looked. Did I get seven days added before my subscription kicks in? I don't know. Since I had to pay to get it, that wouldn't really be a free trial, would it. In conclusion, I'm willing to give it a try. I'll update once I've given it a fair shake. If I can get over the lack of music during my workouts, that is.

I did the free trial and was the foolish fish to not cancel the membership and bought it for the year. However, no regrets! I've done lots of different programs, and except the interruption of music, which I think theyll fix soon, it's been very helpful in learning new moves, and get motivated! Plus, my form has never been better. Good stuff

I use this app to workout 2-3 times a week most weeks, and it has been extremely effective in finding my weaknesses and pushing me to build greater overall strength. The variety in the workouts is great, and the progressive nature of them helps keep things fresh. The app is also good about telling you how much progress you've made after each workout and when you've unlocked new exercises.

The app has it lot of flaws. Some exercises do not have a video or an breakdown, and sometimes the exercises suggest you to do things you cannot do. I see a lot of people ask on the FB page ask as to why the progression jumped from one extreme to another. There response is just the algorithm. I have seen improvement on my physic and strength but there are better apps out there that are better managed. I think the only thing they are good at are sending emails.

The app is good but some things I have problems with is the AI. It doesn't seem to be able to give me a lower body workout and will give me an upper body workout. Also, personally, I feel more workout options should be available, like a full body workout, or push/ pull/ legs split. But overall the app is fantastic, a work in progress, but still a great starting point .

It's an incredible app that has all you need to master calisthenics. I have been using it for a month and already see positive results. The only thing it that it requires a some equipments that are not that easy to find (maybe you could do a list of equipments needed or give some options to change specific workout when the required equipment is not available??)

TMA got me hooked to working out at home, and I definitely saw significant progress in my strength, improvement in many difficult body moves and techniques. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants a customized workout program at home with a few equipment (pull up bar, dips station / parallettes, gymnastics rings) The app still has some glitches and development areas, and I hope the team keeps fixing, improving and tweaking it based on users feedback.

I like the exercises so far, however I think there's a few things that are confusing and a little frustrating: 1. Some warmup exercise descriptions talk about doing a set number of reps on one side, which is really awkward to do for that exercise. These really should be reviewed. 2. The timer stops as soon as you which out of the app. I think the timer should always continue unless you tell it to stop. I will update the review in future if I get less frustrated with these things.

Great content and great app I was looking for a comprehensive calisthenics training program, but all there is out there is either incomplete youTube Videos or 8 weeks programs. And then I found this app. I wanted to be able to a planche, proper muscle-ups, handstands - key calisthenic moves. I love how it's set up as a journey towards those skills. One of the few fitness apps that managed to have both a good functional interface and also good truly personalised workouts.

TMA is a very intuitive app that gives you a very comprehensive approach to doing fitness. Especially, if you're into this kind of calisthenics and movement, then it's probably the app that I would recommend first. It gives you like a very easy approach, step to step guide and the way they create workouts it's efficient and safe. I have never seen anything like this.

This app is far from "perfect" but I think is one of the best on the market on what it does. The progressions are well designed and it makes you get better each session. Also you can choose what is your "goal" excercise and work for it. Mine is the handstand, and I'm still trying to reach my goal, but I feel I'm getting close after each session. Finally, it is a great app to workout indoors with little or no equipment at all, but also you can do gym stuff if you have what is needed.

It took me a whole year to try this program. And now I am hooked. I like the progressions, the strutcture, how it's not just building strength but also mobility, flexibility, skill etc. I like that there is that this algorithm behind it basically adjusts your reps and also the exercises that you're doing - it makes workouts challenging but not impossible.

I think this is a very good app with a huge potential to change how we think about exercising and staying in shape. After having grown weak and gotten injured on multiple occasions, over the last half a year I have been working out daily to strengthen my core using Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization (popularized by prof. Petr Kolar). My core strengthened almost miraculously and got used again to a regular daily routine. Then I started to look around for a more advanced calistenics workout that would target all main muscle groups: pecs, abs, lats, legs, etc. But the prospect of watching tons of videos on youtube and assembling the workout on my own seemed daunting. I am a farther of two in my forties and have many other chores (and hobbies) claiming my spare time, in addition to calistenics. Then I came across Movement Athlete app. All of a sudden, the whole task of designing (and updating on a go) my workout became so much easier! Now I use the app daily and am getting stronger every day. With almost no extra time spent on planning and thinking over. And not a penny spent going to a gym. This exhiliartion nothwithstanding, there are two small caveats. The first is that you have to have at least some background in calistenics or else you are at risk of making mistakes even in the most rudimental exercises. The small videos provided are not enough to prevent this, I think. The second caveat is that this is not completely equipment-free exercising. You will need at least a trapese, a dip station, and a wall.

Very good app to train in a personalized manner. After a month I experienced the following: Pros: - Focus on special movements / skills with trackable progress - Amendments possible if needed (e. g. too many reps on pull-ups) - Videos and descriptions for every exercise - Possibility to change from casual strength training to circuit training (my favourite!) Cons: - Many videos missing, some videos are mixed up (Hollow Rocks / Hollow hold) - Missing option to exclude muscle parts if too sore but still a workout is desired. - Predefined time is irritating! You set 30 Minutes and end up having a 1 hour workout. You set 1 hours and end up with a two hour workout. At the end it shows up that you have completed 9 minutes of workout after two hours in reality! Please fix! To sum up, one can say, that it is really worth trying the app and apart of the little fixes it is very recommendable and similar to a personal trainer. It is not based on AI, but rather on your own experiences and keeps focussing your own set goals instead of a stiff predefined workout plan.

Very very good I was just tired of aching all the time and feeling like I was losing mobility. I've always been interested in calisthenics but I never knew how to get started with it. Then I found this app and said oh, this looks great! I would describe it as a very convenient, probably I would say los stress app way to exercise. Just in the fact that, you know, minimal equipment is what makes it so nice. You can find places to do it almost anywhere, anytime.

I love this app. The best program I have found for calisthenics. I love the set up and how easy it is to follow along with the workouts and how it adapts as you gain strength. And I love how you're working towards goals that look really cool. I only have one gripe. I try to set up quick 20 minute mobility workouts, but when I choose more than one area to work on, like hamstrings, Shoulders, and wrists, it only does the hamstrings. So I had to do separate mobility workouts.

Kia. D. Apr 28, 2020

I'd already been doing Calisthenics for 6 years before I found TMA. It's a great app. I love being exposed to so much variety & having workouts generated for me instead of having to brain storm my own. My muscles carry less tension & there are definitely some strength gains. The range of exercises helps to fine tune everything so ur body gets a more well-rounded workout and less overuse issues. The new features allowing you to generate target based workouts are also great.

Ben. W. Jun 26, 2019

would give it more stars if the app allowed you to rejoin your workout, or could keep intra workout progress. if you have to stop or accidentally shut the app you cant rejoin your workout. cant edit history. Save progress button is misleading, as I thought that was the answer..but it's not. you press the save progress button and that's it. it finishes your workout and tells you that your are done!!!

I've been on the paid program for about 4 months now after completing the initial fitness assessment. The experience feels like a beta with an unpolished, buggy app & repetitive workouts which lack variation. Some of the movements have incorrect descriptions where it's clear the developer has done a copy & paste but not inserted the correct information (like the description for clap pushups on bent knee dips). The workouts also have a habit of missing full muscle groups week on week.

Jon. G. Aug 22, 2019

I've tried a few other bodyweight apps, but they sort of left you to make it up as you go along doing the same routines over and over again. With TMA you have a solid structure to follow. It starts you at fundamental skills and as you go along you unlock harder and harder moves. It'll not only have a different workout each day but each workout pushes your further towards your very specific goal like a handstand or a lever or finishing ab fundamentals. You know it will be challenging but won't le

Very well thought out app. I have been doing calisthenics on and off for around 7 years, but have never been consistent. I started with this app 3 months ago, and it's the first time I've been really consistent, and i believe it's because this app makes it easier. I don't have to try and plan workouts. Awesome stuff, love it !!

I've always been a big fan of home workouts (p90x, insanity etc.), but i've fancied giving calisthenics a go for a while so thought i'd give this a shot. I'm only on my 4th workout but i already appreciate the structured and tailored program. I can do pull ups and push ups but wanted to start at the basics anyway, in case there are smaller balancing muscles that aren't as strong, ruining my form in the long run. Well, starting at the basics proved that yes there are. Looking forward to the rest.

Amazing app, very happy with everything so far, great motivational emails, lots of moves & more to unlock as you progress. Most exercises start easy and slowly get harder as you get stronger. I had double herniated disc in my lower back removed about 18 months ago and within a year I was back in pain. I have been doing this program and implementing in my day to day life for 4 weeks now with a healthy diet and can see a significant difference in how I feel and how I look. I recommend to everyone

Exactly what I wanted!! I know how to workout properly, I just hate designing my own programs that get the job done. This app is perfect. The only downside is it pauses my audio books everytime I swipe to a new workout or rest.

Car. r. Aug 24, 2019

The app still needs work but honestly, you will never get a better deal if you are looking for a calisthenics/ bodyweight training program. Comprehensive programming for over 100 skills in one app, the AI-driven algorithms and workouts that adjust to your feedback.
