One of the best online banking I have found. App is easy to use & set up. Very secure and I haven't found a place it's nice to accept. I had my email hacked and their customer service was fast, helpful, professional, and wonderful to speak with. I have not had one had experience using their banking or app in the 3 years I've used them.
Stay away! While this app seems to work okay, Movo itself appears to have serious security issues. Even after transferring funds for over a year, they lock your account and funds, then require you to send a selfie with your ID and face via unsecured email (seems like a stall tactic to me) ... What financial institution today does that?? ... No security seems to be in place. I can only imagine how bad it is in the back end that we can't see. Buyer beware - this is very high risk.
Movo is the most amazing prepaid card out there! I have an issue with cards that charge fees for using its service. Movo has literally ZERO fees. It provides use of a debit card, and that's needed in today's world. Never had issues getting my money, no issues with the app, and I get my requested alerts on time. Please kee don't change, Movo, because i love everything about it!
I have tried A LOT of prepaid debit cards. This is the only one that doesn't ask users to jump through impossible hoops to simply apply for the card. The interface is easy to use and understand. No problem connecting to my Google Pay or PayPal accounts. I haven't had an encounter with customer service but I count that as a plus. It means there haven't been any problems. I definitely recommend this to others.
Agree with other bad reviews! The "theory" is great, the app is clean and straight forward, but nothing works as it should. The blame security concerns, but can't seem to get it fixed and can offer NO timeline or details as to what the issues are. At first it was that you couldn't use the Visa "part" of it online, you could only use as debit card at POS points. Then it was eventually "fixed" after a long and irritating "re-verification" process, but even that failed for me. Then it moved to not being to load funds on the card through bank transfers. After several days beyond the 2 - 3 day transfer timeline, I called Movo and they said it was declined. I contacted my bank, and they said it was accepted and even gave me the confirmation numbers. Call Movo back, and those numbers meant nothing to them... a few days later the funds were back in my bank account, but that was 10 days or so without that amount of money. DO NOT bet your paycheck or any substantial amount of money on this card or company.
This may or may not be a legitimate service. I did some research into several prepaid debit options and MOVO seemed like one of the better options as far as fees are charged. Ultimately, though, I chose to try MOVO because the worst reviews seemed to be personally responded to in the Play Store--what a great look for customer service, right? When I was unable to sign up, I got an immediate message instructing me to retry as I must have entered my information incorrectly. After a few tries, I resorted to the next option to contact customer support as I might have a "thin file". After I contacted customer support, I received a message to retry as I must have entered my information incorrectly. After, again, a few tries, I replied to customer service. That's the last I've heard from them. They have my personal information including my SSN and my address, but do not respond
Installed the app, signed up in 5 minutes and was immediately able to receive payment for a computer that I was selling. Now my employer pays me through the app. It was super easy to set up and I recommend it highly. -- quick update: they added touch id to the app and it is AWESOME! Thanks!
Biometric Authentication is not working properly. I set it up in the app, but when I log out and try to use the fingerprint option to log back in, it gives me the error message "Biometric authentication settings of the device have changed. Please enter your user name and password to set up biometric authentication again." I am able to use fingerprint options for all other apps, so I'm pretty sure it's not my device that's the problem. **UPDATE*** Fingerprint login option has been fixed.
Account set up goes smoothly until it's time to gain access to your money. I have money sitting on a card I cannot use and I've been trying to get customer service for two days with no response. Their system for helping with problems is broken. They warn you when you call that their "support" email is "currently unsupported" and the chatbot offers no support. It's probably fine if you never need help, but if you need assistance with the app you're stuck.
All these issues... was told Visa processing down for 2 weeks, now i found my card blocked for fraud!!!! emails stating they need my personal info, PLUS another saying they have network issues affecting most customers. This cant be good for anyone of the cardholders. I am going to try to call metropolitan commercial to see if their support covers losses in this I dont have much there, was just paying some things.. and i hope no one else does either!
I just recently got the card and have been enjoying it! I had a Walmart CC and still waiting on it to come in. Started using this one in place of that one and havent had any issues with it. Still learning it and the support team has been very helpful in answering my questions. Always a quick response! Thank you!
Overall happy with card. Used it for a couple months when they were really new and small company. Got locked out of my account and got a response directly from the owner with assistance (that was nice). Then about a month later had 3 transactions get incorrectly charged to my account that i had to dispute ($1000+) stopped using card after that. But happy to update 3 months later and a text message today saying its been credited to my account. I'm a happy camper.
Would like to say this is an excellent option if you would like a bit more privacy when turning crypto to Fiat - just don't be put-off by it's grassroots feel. These guys are truly spot on! It's a hidden gem in a saturated market. Straightforward and easy to use with many practical and noteworthy features. My favourites are the virtual cards it lets you create (for pesky online vendors who try to bill you when you aren't expecting it and without notice - this is for you) and MovoChain!
This is awesome, the Best app. Movo is fully trusted. There are no hidden fees and also they got the best support group ready to assit you anytime. Your money is fully secure and safe in terms of security. Its simple and easy to use and also impossible for your money to get lost or stolen.
App was working fine until yesterday. But it would just sit on the startup screen with a giant logo and nothing else. I uninstalled and then trying to reinstall in Google play it just tries to start the download but it wont start the download... yes I tried uninstalling and rebooting everything, but the app itself will no longer actually download from the play store anymore either
Do not do business with this company. I couldn't change my address when I moved, then I tried canceling the account over the phone and through email when the phone didn't work. I never received confirmation, but they definitely saw fit to take an inactivity fees even after getting the cancellation request. Then after another call to find out what is going on, they said they never received a request to cancel and then proceeded to question why I want to change my address and close account
When trying to set up an account it wouldn't let me finish the process. I contacted customer service for assistance as I was promoted to do by the app and they took a whole two weeks to get back to me. I contacted them again asking for assistance and they just never responded once again.
This app has been great for a mobile solution, prepaid card, and stellar customer service. I have had to call a few times for minimal problems. Top tier customer service, highly reccomend and the features they offer keep up with technology today!
My stupid fault for not reading the reviews, half negative. They claim they sent a card to me twice. Can't login or reset password for 2 mos. Thankfully I sent a large wire to a different account since I can't access my money. No customer support will call back for past 2 weeks. Update: Got login issue resolved, and it appears as a third card is issued. I will see if it arrives in the mail. I appreciate the fact that people are looking at reviews and ate attempting to resolve the issues.
This is the only card that met my husband and mines criteria! So far their customer support has been top notch. I had a issue with my address verifying and they have been in constant contact with me along the way while we were getting everything worked out. So far 5 stars.
App wont open 😡 ive been trying for the past 3 hours to get this app to open and it wont! It stays on the main screen. Funny thing is, it worked great the day I signed up for it! Now?? It won't open. Im glad I didn't switch my direct deposit bc Movo woul have a SERIOUS PROBLEM on their hands if i couldn't get my money...guess I'll look for another option for my startup company!
Got MOVO because I wanted a physical card I could use in a store, and didn't want to pay PayPal's monthly fees for using their card. It was easy enough to set up an account and I did receive the card. However, putting money on the card from my PayPal turned out to be far more complicated than it was worth.
So I read about Movo and I thought the concept to be able to generate virtual card numbers would be very cool. So I downloaded the app and then couldn't figure out how to actually transfer money to my account. They only give you a routing and account number (which is not the same as the card number). So attempting to tie my bank accounts to be able to transfer to the checking account information in my app, my banks will create two small deposits to confirm that this is actually the account you want to add. I did so but after a few days of not seeing my account move, I had to email (you cannot call) Movo support. After another day, a rep was able to help me (after I gave her my bday and secret answer I setup for my account). It was only after this I was able to see the two transactions for one of my banks (not the other one) that I was able to confirm the account for. This app would be more useful if I could see the transactions going to the checking account given to me in the app so that it is easier to tie it to other bank accounts but right now it's a pain in the ass to transfer money to it to make it of any use. I'll update this review if they have made any changes.
Terrible. First my daughter tried to set up an account and was unable to. After much fussing around she was able to almost complete sign-up. Till the app told she had to be at least 18 (she's not). So then I tried to open an account and was told that my ID couldn't be verified. Will continue to look elsewhere.
Customer since the end of 2019. I''ve used the app without too many issues. At the beginning of the pandemic someone got hold of my card number and made fraudulent purchases. The MOVO team correct it and restored funds to my account very quickly. With this latest hiccup my only critique is more status updates would have been nice. Once I submitted a support ticket a rep contacted me, pointed me to the portal and it looks like things are back to normal for me.
They have temporarily suspended registration. Instead of explaining this like a responsible company they give you a the error message after you have already spent a large amount of time registering, or rather attempting to register. I had to contact them from a computer via their automated chat assistance on their homepage to be told this. This is a mobile app that can only be registered from within the app. Awful first/last impression.
Terrible company. They allowed people to open "unauthorized accounts," so they have frozen everyone's accounts days before my direct deposit is due. Too late to switch banks. They promised a "dedicated portal" to fix the problem. It's nowhere to be found. Their online and phone "support" is trash. I was told to send a copy of my driver's license to the support email and they would unblock the account. I did so, and they won't even address unblocking. Still waiting. BEWARE, BEWARE, BEWARE
it only worked a couple of months then locked me out. Password reset requests went unanswered. After over 5 months unable to access I started getting random charges. App would send text alerts to allow you to stop charges however it still went through. Find another app.
Connected Movo to my bank, which sent verification deposits that went through with no problem overnight. Five days ago I tried to transfer money from my bank to Movo. My bank said the transfer completed, but it hasn't shown up in Movo. I know I entered my account details correctly or else the verification deposits wouldn't have gone through. Why is it taking so long? Update: Everything seems to be working now, thanks for the help Eric!! 👍🏻
A nice place for online shopping and payments. I think it could be more and I'd be willing to pay for a pro app (pay your devs !) On my Samsung 7, I had to swipe up to see the access to my fingerprint scanner which is unnecessary "extra" security. There is no notification to the user that a physical card had been ordered once they have reached the $20 threshold. That would be nice to know as I have been over that threshold for about a week and am unsure if I will be getting a physical card.
