MPD Remote
MPD Remote is a program designed to control a MPD (Music Player Daemon) server. It can also be used as a standard music player for Android together with aMPD.
A few notes
- MPD Remote does NOT work with MPD version 0.14 and older.
- With large music collection it might be necessary to increase the max_output_buffer_size in the mpd.conf file on the MPD server.
- The "Read Phone State" permission allows MPD Remote to send a pause command to the MPD server when a phone call is started.
- The enqueue functionality does not work probably with MPD version 0.16 and 0.15.

I use this with my Audiophonics Raspdac running Moode Audio. I love being able to control the music from the App and especially adjusting the volume level from the rocker switches on the side of my mobile phone. A full five stars from me.
One of the best . And even free to boot. If it can read mpd own cover or embedded cover art it'll be even better. Kudos to dev. Some ui issue like option for browsing files a bit confusing. Hope this app will improve more .
Does not show directory structure. I've organized my music by directories and files for at least 20 years. I have a lot of untagged music. It makes looking for something I want to play a nightmare.
Excellent functionality. I only wish I could switch between the playing now screen and the library screen by a swipe action. It would also be great if there was a cover view.
Very good MPD remote controller. The album art from MPD is also supported. Unfortunately the album cover images are shown in a tiny size.

Can you please return the "add random album" option? I used to use it all the time! I don't want to clear my current playlist, just add a random album.

Works a breeze, basic but works
My mpd client of choice for a long time. I don't like the new unified dialog for selecting server and output though, as I don't find it useful to ask for the output selection everytime I switch servers.
Control all the MPD servers in your life. Remote feels like an Android player. Requires an MPD server on your network.

Truly awful un-intuitive interface. Gave up when i couldn't find how to scan folders in my music directory.
Fantastic, lightweight mpd controller. Lots of features, yet small and fast. Using it to control an RPI with volumio. Minor gripes: adjusting volume takes a long time, ui can be confusing at times
Just what i was looking for - can search by files and add whole directories at a time, and supports multiple servers - easy to switch between them, works well with aMPD. Thankyou for an easy to use well thought out app!
Best MPD client I have found
Grab yourself some raspberry pi, add some volumio, some flacs on NAS, and this app to control them all for a multiroom music system.
Great app. Would be even better if changing the volume would not require 100 taps

I'm running MPD on my Cubieboard, this app makes it easy to choose songs. It doesn't seem to drain my battery like other MPD clients, and swiping right to get to the current playlist is a handy feature. Paid version is definitely worth it!
I have a Raspberry Pi running MPD hooked up to speakers wired through my house. This works marvelously to control my music without being in front of a console.
Out of many similar apps, this one has more features and has worked flawlessly for me.
