Worked great for a few hundred messages over a few hours...but then stops...Disabling battery optimisation for this app does appear to have made it start working again though! Understandable why no birth or LWT messages - since tasker actions are not really persistent. QOS is great addition though, this overall works very nicely to send battery information to my MQTT system
Publisher worked fine for only first few minutes after creating the scene then stopped forever, until I had to open the settings again and cliked on the play button (triangle icon) at the bottom to restart. This is unacceptable for an automate app.
worked for a short time, now cant get any messages sent!!! Tasker shows action ran, but nothing actually happens
This has been working solidly for the past week... but I had to use IP address of the broker instead of hostname! I would love to see some kind of configuration screen for last will and testament that will finally make our Android devices completely support mqtt!
Works, if it doesnt work try changing ip of the server to just something. Save run task and edit again to correct ip. Then task should run right.
Stops publish as someone says. Android 5 Meizu m1 note. Sent publish just once and stops. App added to run in NOT smart background.
Just stops working, no errors. Too much of a black box.
Works well! Worked with hostname too, and SSL mode enabled on my server.
Simply doesn't work half of the time.
This plugin does exactly what you would want it to, with the exception of sometimes not sending the MQTT message at all, or heavily delayed. I have not been able to figure out a pattern behind it and the source also gives no indication of a reason. If this was more reliable, this would be the perfect 5-star MQTT plugin for Tasker.
The app works, but only 3 or 4 times in a row. After that, the messages are not published any more. Editing and saving settings restores the program operation for next 3 or 4 times and then the story repeats... I found other people with this problem but no solutions. I sincerely hope that this gets fixed.
Ok, so I want to give a higher rating as it's a good start, the problem is that it only partially works. It'll work for a few days but then stops sending messages. You have to go into each config, change the tinyest thing and then it'll start working again. Very frustrating as it's so close to being a great.
Seems like after some number of publishes - it just kind of stops publishing. Not sure why or how exactly I seem to get it reset but when I do, it works for another few publishes and the cycle repeats. Easy to use though, just wish it would keep working...
Still hoping for more feature but it does what it promises very well. Very rarely crashes and I use it all day
As other people have said, it works a few times, but then you need to open it back up and change your payload for it to work again.
Great but my variables were not being expanded. When I used %varname as the payload it sends "%varname" to the server. It suddenly started working when I tried %varname%.
Works great, but like other people I have been running into the issue where it just stops sending messages until I edit and save the settings with no changes. It also doesn't seem to have a global server config, so I have to clone tasks just so I don't have to reconfigure the settings every time.
Great start! I've been using this with Tasker, Sleep as Android to notify my Home Assistant server of my sleeping state. I would love to see a bit more features, like using Tasker variables in messages and client certificate authentication. I may fork and add these if I have time.
Please add subscription to the app. I'll pay $10 so that I don't have to spend time trying to expand on your github source.
please fix it, its not stoping even after disabling tasker.
Needs to be able to subscribe too, then this will unleash tasker for iot applications.
The app works, without ads and it is free. Couldn't ask for more.
The missing link for Tasker.
Any chance there is a MQTT Tasker Subscriber coming soon? Love the Publisher, thanks
Great Plugin, but how do I pass a variable to the plugin payload?
I just wish it would do subscription as well as publishing.
Easy to use
Trying it out
So, I was also having the issue where it would not trigger correctly outside of the test screen but found a work around! If I put the mqtt messages in their own tasks, then reference that task from others, it seems to work fine! Will update if I find out anything else.
