I like to play this once in a while but lately the game is broken. The loading screen stays for a very long time and when i go to the app via push notification, which is a big part of the game, the message screen is split in two and the text messages become unreadabe due to them being stretched out vertically. I'm not sure if this will be addressed since telltale games is no more.

While this is a fun game overall, it's ridden with bugs. The story is amiable with the beloved characters from the series. New characters also make an appearance as such is your primary contact. I like the idea of a phone game using a phone as gameplay. I also like the idea that you has to wait for texts to appear. The illusion that you're talking to someone is broken by the aforementioned problems within the game. Responses given are given and then get deleted. More polish needed on that end.

it's an interactive text game. It's not too exciting but it can be entertaining

Every company should use this game for security training

It is fun to play.

This game is nothing more than a very short story of season 1. You have very little control on how it turns out, and is pretty much a text game straight out of the 1980s..But with less interaction. (Or a chose your own adventure book..But still less choice.) It is definitely not worth the $2+.

I didn't have the same bugs as everyone else. There were some times that timelines wouldn't match up, but for the most part i had no issues. After I "beat" the game I wanted to play through again to see if it is possible to screw up to the point of no return or to not screw up the things I wrong. Excited to see what's next.

Good idea, but now I'm stuck waiting for Henry for days now. Great game, just mega stuck and kinda bummed. Update: It's been 2 weeks and the game is still stuck. Super disapointed that I've heard nothing and nothing has been done. Update 2: got an update, game finally moved but only one or two responses, story is still where I was. Super disappointed. Been a month since the game originally stopped progressing.

Just like others, last update messed up the icons and still have had no progress in over a week. Should not have these problems in a paid app. UPDATE: got everything fixed. Played to the end...not as satisfying as it could have been...especially for the price. Not going to waste the time to finish it again.

Looks good, quirky humour and pleasantly dark in places. Need some simulated time way to hurry the gameplay up though, especially on retries. Currently, this can be done by going offline and winding the system clock forward but beware of the side effects.

The premise of the game is good, but it takes too long for the game to move along. You complete an action/conversation and have to wait several hours to get the next message in order to continue playing... I'm now stuck at 89.9% Scanning for the past 2 days. Got some duplicate messages but I'm unable to reply or make any progress.

I really enjoyed playing this game. Like others I did have a few problems with having to repeat bits where I'd gone wrong and it taking a while for new messages to come through. But I don't think this detracted from the overall game play. I enjoyed the story and getting to do a bit of social engineering. It was quite varied and the conversations were always interesting.

This game is more disappointing than season 2. It's unplayably broken. I tried three times and could never finish the game without the story abruptly stopping. Too bad. It was such a good idea, a text based game on mobile in the form of a messaging app. It also eats battery life and heats up the phone. Here's a tip: don't use the Unity game engine for a text based game. They should have tried hiring real programmers for this.

(Update: 61 days later and it's still stuck) Henry says he will do it tomorrow then logs off, then nothing. Seems most people are stuck here waiting. And there is a lesser bug the blue exclamation point by contacts doesn't go away, even though there is no new contact. Samsung Note 5 here.

The game was buggy. Days would pass with no response from characters so I'd reset. That introduced an even buggier experience. I deleted the app out of frustration. Got new phone and decided to give it a go. It still has its problems but I managed to complete it in 3 days. not sure if it was worth the $ for the linear but emersive experience.

So much fun when it works. Giving it a 3 for potential will happily update to 5 when bugs are fixed. Meanwhile, while waiting for fixes, I've gone through and played the game as it is three times to try out the different responses - I'm having more fun as the reluctant assistant vs eager helper than I expected.

This game was pretty expensive for what I think was a pretty lousy experience. I only tried 1 game, but the story was not intriguing in any way. As other users report, timelines would get mixed up, essentially ruining the immersion. This should've been a $1 game as it is, and I doubt this game will get more gameplay added.

I never thought I'd be disappointed with a Tell Tale game but this did it. The story is boring as you are forced to pick up the plot for the writers. I did not feel connected to any of the characters (most notably the main character: you). The wait on some of the missions is ridiculous, although I did like this mechanic for this style of game. And lastly the game breaking bug towards the end is uneblievable. A fully released game that's well over a few months old should not have these problems. I'm sorry.

Update: Since the latest update the app has worked well for me. Was originally stuck at the Henry Cohen part as he didn't return to work after 4 days and I kept receiving duplicate messages but now that the problem has been resolved and I'm able to proceed with the game. It is well written and immersive as you have to wait a few hours for the next message. Highly recommend.

Update: Still broken AF. It was fun, but bugs halt progress. I've been waiting a weeks for Henry to get back to me. Started over twice and the game still gets stuck at the same spot. Not doing it again. Don't buy.

Cos. R. Sep 18, 2016

First playthrough was fantastic - totally immersive, well written realistic characters... But on my second playthrough the game is stuck. I've had no notifications and no texts in game for over a week, so I'd probably have to start again, which is rather disappointing given it's a paid app. This has happened twice now. Darlene's file stops at 89.9% and the game goes no further. Disappointed.

Everyone else seemed to be having issues with this game getting "stuck" or repeating. I played it through without issue. Fun game with all kinds of annoying real world aspects. Repeating parts happen when you fail so badly the game is trying to get you to do it over. My tip would be to these people who are "stuck": make sure you've exhausted all avenues of play. Sometimes you can message other people to ask for help or move things along, or you may need to examine a file before it continues working.

The potential is there. The tie in with the show was nice. But the time between communications makes it feel longer than it really is, which just turns into feeling jipped out of $2.99. Now it's been 2 days with no more communication, I haven't finished the game(but know I'm nearing the end based on reviews). Recent update just spams me the same messages over and over, not fixed. I have enjoyed the Lifeline series, and The Martian, but I'm disappointed with this one.

This little ARG is surprisingly immersive and intense. There are a lot of little details and flourishes that are really refreshing. However.. once you stray from the more obvious paths you start to encounter numerous bugs which break that immersion. I wish the devs would work on it some more. These would be easy to fix

Deb. C. Sep 21, 2016

Update: still broken, still frustrated. I can't believe they have allowed these game-stopping Henry Cohen/89% scan bugs to go on for so long and still take people's money for this broken app. The story and gameplay were great when it worked. Fix or refund, please. Will increase rating when I'm able to actually play this game to completion.
