MSSNGR
It's due to a Facebook update rolled out in those countries.Thanks for trying out this app anyway and an even bigger thank you for all of those people who are using MSSNGR every day. You rocks.

- The only purpose of this app is to eliminate the need to install Messenger.
- This app ONLY STARTS the ORIGINAL Facebook "Chat", that's why IT REQUIRES the Facebook App.
- This will only work until Facebook removes the original chat from their App.
- THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS".
THE PROBLEM0 You (re)install the Facebook app.1 You can use the old/original Facebook "chat" for a couple of days.2 After a couple of days Facebook app says "We've moved Over to Messenger, Get App".3 GOTO 0
THE SOLUTION(Because we don't like GOTO.)0 You install the Facebook App.1 You install MSSNGR.
USE CASE
- Alice sends you a message.
- You tap the notification.
- Facebook App wants to make you download the Messenger.
- Obviously you don't download the Messenger.
- You start the MSSNGR and create a NEW chat with Alice. (Saying "hi" to Alice.)
- (Yes, if you close the Facebook App, you have to start a new chat.)
- MAGIC HAPPENS
- You can read the previously sent messages between you and Alice.

It doesn't work. It keeps in redirecting me to the actual Messenger app. But you tried to bring back the old Facebook chat and it works for the other people who downloaded it so this deserves 5 stars. I hope Zuckerberg brings the old chat back ;-; I don't hate Messenger but come on, make Facebook great again lmao 😂
couldn't even open it! just had a message from the phone itself saying to download facebooks legacy app... um if I wanted to do that, I wouldn't be looking for alternatives! moto g 3rd gen running android 6
I don't want to send a message to be able to view my new message. Very displeased with this app.
To bad you can't view existing messages, hopefully once Android M is fully out we will be able to selectively give Facebook messenger (and the main app) permission to exist on our devices
Sad to say that it doesn't work in Malaysia anymore. Ahhh I miss old Facebook *wails
Since I really liked this alternate app, I've decided to use it again on my new phone. Changed my phone into Motorola Nexus 6, but it keeps opening up the fb app instead of the mssngr app.
we want to view the message without saying 'hi' to the friend..its not comfortable...if our frnd moves out for some time and again he send message after some minutes then again we have to send 'hi' to view his message...plz fix dis problem otherwise my friends think that i am foolish as always say hi after some time...i hope u understand my problem
This is literally just a Facebook app and you still can't see your messages unless you have messenger..
When i open the app, it is routed to "get app" of the new messenger. I was expecting it would work, but i guess not. Im in Philippines
Fast and light. With all the fb messenger crashes I had to live with is a relief.
Possibly bc hasn't been updated for almost 2 yrs, doh!
I would say By Installing this I am disappointed by Facebook. This tiny app Work better then messenger. Thank you Developer for doing such a wonder full job.
Makes you install the Facebook app, utter waste of time.
I've been trying to view my messages on the old messenger app, and it keeps taking me to the next screen to install the new messenger app! Whatever you do, don't waste your time downloading this app!
I was hoping this was a better way to message from my phone without having to use the actual messenger, but I was wrong. When I try to open it it just takes me to Google store to download the real messenger app! Stupid.
But unfortunately, it doesn't work in Canada either. Oh well, was worth a try. Thanks anyway.
It would be Of Aid if You allowed me to view Messages. If That is In Your ability to adjust, Please do so.
I honestly thought it was the old messanger its a lie dont waste your time it will take you straight to the new one where you need to install as soon as you open this app

What kind of mess is this! I downloaded it and it sent me to the Messenger app to download that. Pretty slick! I just uninstalled Messenger because it keeps glitching! UNINSTALLING THIS NOW!
I love this because it disentangle even use 1 Mb and it puts messenger to a shame love it!

I just to love it, but few days ago stopped working. Then I click on this app it opens fakebooks messenger install page.. Maybe its only me.
After installing you hit open. And it goes to fb messenger install link. Smfh.
Its ok ..but i would like to have the option to have a group chat ..if i can do this five stars

I love this app after I updated Facebook messenger it stopped working for me and after downloading this app I can finally check and write messages again.

I've always hated Mark for forcing Facebook messenger. It is the worst. They both run in the background, and consume tons of memory. However, with this tool from Y2K technologies, I can finally show a finger to Facebook inc, and enjoy quality chatting time with my mates. Its fast, reliable, and old school facebook chat. Longer battery time, happier me :) Kudos to developer, I hope Facebook will recognise his genius, and buy out the company.
