MSW Surf Forecast

The surf reports and not always very accurate. The most useful feature of this app were the webcams. Magicseaweed have now removed the free webcams and made it so you have to pay. The quality of the webcams at my local breaks is not worthy of the price they want. Very disappointed in MSW with this "update".

Finally I have my excuse to delete this app, the forecast is never accurate, the webcams were the best feature but now that you have to pay for the apps pro version to view them. Very overpriced for poor camera images

I love the app, it's just a bit sad that there's no access to surfcams anymore if you're not a pro user (before the last update it worked with advertisement, which is fair imho). [Edited after bug fix]

The app was great until the update. Now it is ridiculously slow, and prone to freezing and crashing. Not only are pages slow to load, but even once they are loaded, scrolling down the page is excruciatingly slow and always freezes, causing Android to throw up "Magic Seaweed isn't responding. Would you like to wait?" error messages. In its current state it isn't functional. I'm still holding out on uninstalling it just in case it gets fixed, but at the moment I am no longer relying on this as I was before, and am trying out alternatives.

I use this on my laptop but thought the app would be easier so I didn't have to fire up the PC when I wanted to check surf conditions. Works a treat! doesn't seem to have the same level of forecast detail as the website (I assume paying for the Pro version would fix this) but it gives me enough info to make a decision on where to head to. I use this in conjunction with the Safer Seas app that gives water quality info. It would be good to see these two linked to save me going into both!

Forces none native wide-screen webcams into wide-screen chopping off half the view without giving you the option to zoom out Does not happen on my old iPhone with same app. *Update. and that was when it had a free webcam preview. 17-1-22 now that free webcam previews have gone app offers little engagement for me to use anymore.

Having to pay to see the cameras. These people are not business people. If you wanted to advertise originally, it was way too expensive and prohibited local businesses from affordable advertising on the site b4 you got 10 secs of camera view. Because of this they have now made you pay to go pro. Just lower your advertising fees and local businesses would use you. Uninstall this app as there's better forecast elsewhere.

Have used magicseaweed for 15 years I think and it has finally gotten to the point where I can't use it anymore. Don't want to pay to see the cams and it actually doesn't even load anything on the app anymore. Sorry MSW it's been an enjoyable relationship until now.

Consistantly over rates wind speeds by enough that it's no use for kitesurfing. The maps have disappeared which makes finding spots much harder. The descriptions of surf spots are so comically out of date that apparently empty quiet spots can actually have half a dozen schools and hordes of surfers. Probably best to replace all the descriptions with "bloody busy spot with surf nowhere near as good as you hoped for". Still use it loads though and still absolutely believe it's going to be a 5 star day every time.

Was a great app the the live camera views. Not always live but close enough so for that you would get 5 stars. However since you made it an expensive subscription you get 0 stars. But I can't give zero stars so for the moment 1 star(very unhappy)......... Please please bring back the free camera views with ads

Just did the new updated and now there's Google ads. Also I can't see the tide chart if I choose individual days. The cams are squirrly sometimes after I watch the ad

App works fine. However now you have to pay to view the surf cams. When you could look at them before without paying.

4.50 a month to see awful camera's. It was OK when they were free, but they give a very poor view of most beaches and are very often too fifthly to see through

Scam Now have to pay £7.99 a month to see the surf videos but it's still free on iPhone and with apple, yes with adverts but come on. How much its cheaper to buy a iPhone

App has stopped working. Can't actually load any surf reports anymore and you now have to pay to see surf cams that are freely available on google. Seems greedy.

Very useful app for a beginner. One feature I wish it had was to be able to display a days forecast for all my "favourited" spots on one page. So if im only in the area next Wednesday, I can at a glance check which would be the best spot to make preliminary plans to head towards. Otherwise its selecting each spot from my favourites, heading to forecast, then scrolling to the day (repeat for each spot). Or wake up on the morning and glance at favourites list.

Used to be really good, but now you need Pro to watch any of the Webcams. Very disappointing.

Latest version shows no forecasts data at all under that tab. The old version crashed all the time but at least showed data. Have tried reinstall by still doesn't work UPDATE 19-09 - thanks to the support guys they diagnosed & solved the issues I was having - worth clearing the cache on your app under settings menu if you experience similar issues

Best app for checking the surf where ever you are but I am unable to pick my favorite surf spots as I am unable to create an account link it up to my email. Each time I try to create an account it gives me an error saying "bad captcha" and after changing many things it still gives me the error.

Free limited view of webcam gone. You now have to pay to see webcams. £50 a year is way too expensive for watching a webcam. Very disappointed, would not recommend and will now uninstall. It was the only reason I used this app as the forecast ( usually more accurate) is available elsewhere in a better format with less adverts. MSW continues to decline, sad day.

Great forecasting tool, essential for deciding where to go, wherever you are, it even saves the forecast data so you don't need signal at the beach to check if it's better elsewhere, the pro subscription has some awesome features too like the 16 day forecast and ad free cams!

Great app to help and plan our strike missions to the coast. The new update however removed the map view to explore coast and available surf spots. That was very useful if traveling to different areas where you don't know the spots nearby by name. Has this been taken out of the free version or dropped entirely?

This app was excellent until the latest update. All of the charts seem to have disappeared, which for me was the main draw of the app. I am guessing there needs to be a bug fix ...

Slow as ball sacks since the update and still hasn't been changed. Absolutely no local area info so just wasted space. Great ideas but needs some serious optimisation. Pretty close to uninstalling due to this as other apps work a lot faster and don't freeze

Was great until they upped the price - £8 a month for cameras other people have put up. Jog on

Best app out there, BUT same as the last review, I've had pro for ages and it's worked fine. It charged me again yesterday and now it's telling me to upgrade to pro, even though i already pay for it! Sort it out MSW! It tells me i have pro in Google play, so i should either log in, or log in to the same account. I'm logged into the same account!

To check my local surf report with the App takes longer than with the internet site, and you don't get the on the ground daily reports or photos for that spot. It should default quickly to your home break forecast, with all available photos updates, not to the "spot guide"
