This has been my go to card database app for years. Only thing it needs to be near perfect is the ability to check prices from other vendors. TCG is good to get a ballpark figure, but it's not accurate enough for most trade scenarios. Most people tend to use SCG or CK.
This is the third time my wishlist has been completely wiped out. It's been an issue since 2019. It's frustrating because I have hundreds of cards on it for multiple different decks and losing that data is cumbersome, after putting a lot of time compiling the lists.
The search engine is working again for me, and this is back to being an absolutely solid app for searching and playing with. I'd still like to see a feature to browse through search results as a visual gallery, and sort searches by average card prices.
I've been playing since 98' and this app does everything I need. The life tracker is superb (shows changelog so you can resolve any discrepancies), the search function is great, trades, mana pool, rules, etc.
I LOVE this lil guy when trying to remember and/or find cards. Super easy to use, haven't had any problems with it aside from it closing occasionally during an update; so no problems at all really!
Has been crashing as of latest update, whenever I press search, I get put on my home screen. Worked really good before, which is a shame that it doesnt work anymore.
Amazing app for finding cards, checking out new sets. Great tools as well. Please make it where I can do image view and swipe to the next card in the search results.
Really good app. Especially good for looking up cards. Only thing I don't like is that when i use the life total portion, the screen continually dims itself.
I love this app, it is a very valuable tool for deck building and just for reference. The other little tools that come with it are handy as well, like the dice and coin flip feature and saving a wish list. I can't recall ever having any problems. I love how you can sort by power, toughness and CMC. Searching by card text is wonderful. Card images look great too. I wish you could choose to swipe through your search results in either up/down or left/right. But that's just wishful thinking.
It is a very nice app and straight forward to use, cards are up to date and so are rulings. Only problem I have which is sorta major is that each time the app updates. Which is frequently. It deletes the most recent deck I had built and put together. Any ideas or thoughts have to start over and it makes it hard when I don't remember each card by heart.
The app is great, has a quick search with the entire gatherer along with the comprehensive rules and many other features. I wish it would have more of the alternate art versions of cards since more and more products are coming out it is harder for me to keep up with pricing by switching apps all the time. Also it would be nice to add historic to the format section for when I am not at my computer on arena to find deck ideas since they are adding random cards I can't remember them all. 10/10
I like this app a lot, the one thing that really irritates me is the deck builder. It's very basic, lacks the neccessary tools to make a deck. Especially for commander, the saving and loading feature is very disorganized and confusing to use. You cant tell if it's been saved or not, I'd love to see a nicer, easier, way to navigate saved decks, better deck building features that includes all formats, I would almost want to compare my wants to MTG Unofficial but i dont enjoy using it since it has many issues and is no longer maintained. Aside from that I love this app. The card search and rulings is really clean and easy to acess and navigate
What used to be a flawless tool for card searches has transformed into a clunky, hard to navigate app. Why did you take out the "exact phrase" option when searching cards? And now it crashes every time I want to search ANYTHING. How the mighty have fallen. Give me back the app that I downloaded and stop messing with things that were already perfect. If it ain't broke don't fix it!
I think this update is recently, whenever I open the app with wifi on, it automatically updates itself, but not just the new set, almost all sets are reupdating itself and I can't search for old cards because it's still updating. I appreciate it updates itself but that's too frequent, it updated itself almost 3 times this past week. Please fix that, I'm an avid user of your app. Thank you!
It does more than you expect it to, and by that almost everything you want short of letting you play. If the theory crafting and complicated interactions of cards from all across all the sets tickle your fancy as it does mine: wishlist, tradelist, deck list, card search has everything including logic operators (just found those!), color, type, subtype, text, cmc, rarity, text box, and all of that has additional search options. select different sets for your deck or for pricing reasons. 8+years<3
Great app. I've used this for years to keep in touch with friends across my nation by saving card images and sharing through preferred networks. Please make this free app somehow available on IOS, so that my friends with iPhones don't miss out on this. It's so versatile and easy to understand; I can find no other applications as flexible for all my Magic; The Gathering needs. Useful for all formats. This application has greatly increased my love and knowledge of the game.
It was a great app until the latest update. Sending images doesn't load properly. The "exact words" search till is now gone and that makes it so hard to find the specific things you want to use. It's frustrating and simply makes it less of a tool I'd want to use for cards and deck building.
This app started out amazing, and was my go to for pretty much everything, hut the latest update broke everything. It lags like crazy, takes easily 5 minutes just to save a single image, and even then constantly makes brand new albums despite having a dedicated album already on my system, and isn't letting me view prices anymore. I wish this wasn't so, but I can't use this anymore. The only feature that continues to work are the most basic features like mana counters and dice rollers.
Ive used this app pretty much ever since i started magic, it used to be, hands down, the BEST mtg database out there. But similar to other reviews ive seen i downloaded an update and the app got all wonky for me. The only thing that ive really noticed is broken exactly would be the color search. For example if i just put in "flying" in text, then ill see every card thats ever had flying. But say i search "flying" with blue and no other colors, then a database error will occur
I have have been using this app for quite a few years now. I have been very satisfied until sometime fairly recently. I like the widget and it has become a staple to my home screen. Now. When I try to add the widget, a notification pops up saying "app not installed". I have manually updated and reinstalled several times to no avail. I emailed this to service department as well. Please fix ASAP. When you do, I'll revise to a five star rating. Thanks.
This is a fantastic app for searching and deck building. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is that you can't change the price source. Tcgplayer is fine for some but i would like to be able to change the site to say starcity so that when i price out a deck i can get an accurate picture. Otherwise I do really enjoy the app and have for a long time
Great app, that is easy to use most of the time. Occasionally doesn't search cards I cannot remember the name of, but can recall the wording and search by phrases/words. It does sometimes mess that up though, and when I do find the card the app reads the card differently than the actual printed version from the set. It might be due to reprints changing the wording on either side, but it does still happen. Would get a 5 star if it included other format filters such as the newer pioneer format.
Needs to be reverted back to previous versions. When searching for broad categories of cards, like removal that is instants, you cant properlly use the color filters like you use to. Now there shows no results, instead of all the cards that should be listed. Used this app for years but this was a huge step back
this app is on my opinion the best one out there for databasing, pricing, and general accuracy of cards. the one thing i do not like about it is that the app doesnt seem to have a selection for foil versions of cards. i may be wrong about this though. i hope the creators update for it or respond with directions for how to get this applied.
Far and away the best mtg search engine app on the market, it would still get this rating even if the search engine was the only feature. My only gripe is the search by mana cost thing just closes the app, otherwise the minor bugs that occur sometimes don't matter. If someone is looking for cards to put in a devotion deck or X matters deck they can't search by "BB" or by "X", which is rather inefficient.
Absolutely love this app, the only companion I've ever used. However I do miss the "Exact phrase" feature from previous versions. It helped immensely with search for specific cards for a specific type of play. All in all I love this companion and will continue to use. :)
By far the most-used app on my phone (not counting social media). Deckbuilder, card search, life counter and die rolls are all simple to use and have all the necessary functions. The card trader/pricer and the comprehensive rules get used less by me but are still helpful when needed. The app comes with an adjustable homescreen widget so you can quickly access only those features that you frequently use and the dev is active on github and promptly responds to any bug reports / suggestions.
Ok so after reporting the issue that makes users unable to search cards via color the app maker was very helpful and immediantly started to try and fix the issue. And I also asking about the "exact phrase" option no longer being available. He stated that you just need to use quotation marks when sesrching for an exact phrase.
This app has been a tremendous help from when I began to play Magic in 2014 to having become the tournament organiser/judge for my LGS in 2019 and onwards. Just invaluable utility and usability. I don't normally update apps when I've found a stable version that works, but this latest version had the option to disable online-only cards. Perfect.
