MUBI – Stream & Download Films

MUBI is a great concept but the app is way too basic. You can't set a size for subtitles and they're huge, no color options either, they're in a very large black box, it's painful to watch on big phone screen. Plus where are all the other features from the website like your profil, watch list, favorites, etc. You need to switch back and foth between the website and the app... Lots of work to do

The subtitles of the movies are peaking out from left and cropped out, they are not fully readable. I cannot grasp why and how something as simple as displaying subtitles can be a bug for such an app. I like Mubi for the international content. Subtitles should work like a charm. (The issue is seen while casting movies from Android to Chromecast. Subtitles with more than a line are not aligned to the center, they are aligned to a reference point towards the left of the screen and are cut off.)

It's a shame the streaming experience is so poor when chromecasting. The selection of films is great. I wish I could watch a whole movie without all the interruptions for loading. At the end of the day, it makes MUBI unwatchable. I'd be happy to pay for a yearly subscription if that were resolved.

Great selection of film, I got a free trial and never used it once though that's on me. However navigating the app, there's a lot left to be desired. Once you start there's no option to unsubscribe and there's no obvious support to help you out.

I love the movies but there is a big problem with subtitles. It's impossible to watch movies subtitled in the original language. If I'm watching a French movie, for example, it's impossible to see subtitles in French. And so on with any languages... Quite disappointing for someone who wants to learn or improve his language skills.

I subscribed to the 1 year plan, the amount was debited from my card, I have the transaction details. But the app showed me payment failed and asking me to purchase again!! There isn't a customer service option to reach you either!!!!! Please reverse the payment urgently.

Consistently engaging films and a great window on the world. But please, sort out your site so that you don't suggest I "keep watching" a film that I've watched all the way through to the start of the credits!

Hard to rate. Was working perfectly on my Smart TV so far but subtitles are now very random. Works for some movies, for others they won't just show on the screen. That's a 3 stars until all is back to normal.

I think you should considerate a better way to organize the films through the platform... I find frustrating trying to look for something in the TV app. If you say it's hand-picked cinema, you also need to show a better way to classify what you picked....

I have adjusted my score. A problem I had earlier (where the back arrow + title and cast/stream icon at the top of screen would not go away) was solved after I opened the subtitle dialogue and closed it. Initially I may have backed out of this dialogue rather than closing it It.

A terrible app! Almost impossible to create an account, I tried 3 times from different emails and cards and it was impossible. I tried to sign in to my phone and smart TV and it did not work. I was excited now I am incredibly disappointed.

Cannot play a movie but I can watch its trailer! The screen stays pitch black while the timestamp remains at --:--:--! Maybe it depends on the device, currently using a Samsung J7. Please fix, during my 1 month trial so I might avail your service. Thank you.

The effort is truly commendable. But the problem lies behind its mechanism. They should make the previously aired movies available at all times (like their counterparts). What if one wants to watch a movie after a year? Only to be found it's no longer available for streaming?

Great selection of films available and cast to my TV was high quality and worked seamlessly. The browser website has more functionality though: being able to search by genre, more easily follow/browse lists, favorite directors/actors and so on. I found trying to find a film I wanted to see on the app more difficult (lots of scrolling...) so it'd be good if they could just incorporate all of the features from the website into the app.

Films available are great, but the search could definitely be improved. The thumbnail images are too big to allow for easy browsing. Options for list view would help a lot. Saved list also needs to be easier to find, or as a viewing option on the landing page. But the reason for 3 stars is the very temperamental streaming from Pixel 3axl to Google TV. The buffering is often unbearable.

Terrible app. Once it starts playing, it is virtually impossible to play/pause/rewind/forward as it does not respond at all. If, by a miracle, it responds, it is a good 60 seconds after first touching the screen. Browsing the catalogue is similarly painful. It is almost as if ths app has been designed to make the user suffer and utterly hate the watching experience.

Super selection of world cinema with interesting forays into past and present. Am often impressed by range of current releases. Far easier to navigate than Netflix, with much higher quality of film. An almost unique site with well-curated choice rather than a mountain of mainly rubbish. Well worth the subscription cost. Well done Mubi - keep it up!

Video player needs to improve. Making video go forward or back is hard and not precise. Need more 4k content. Details about the cast would also be much appreciated.

50% Of features I love about Mubi are not here unfortunately. - Browse feature is missing - Can't find people's lists nor click on people in comments to see what they like. - Notebook not here. So It seems to be like a magazine of mubi promoted films you can watch. All this makes exploring very limited. The app could use surface duo screens to be amazig. Hoping for future updates. 🙂

Need to have genre based movie segregation to have easier search.There are lot scope for improvement on this. Movie collection is good. But the app needs improvement. Thanks.

Probably the best cinema streaming platform out there. Mubi is for those who are not in a rush, those who want to watch brilliant cinema. Delightful experience, minimalistic and beautifully crafted aesthetics :)

Good service, so that we could access great content. But the app needs to work on user experience, especially movie playing and associated controls

Pretty good movies and the performance is perfect. My only concern is that it's a little expensive if you compare it with other streaming platforms.

One of the best streaming apps I ever used. Curated lists are awesome, I am enjoying it very much. I hope with time good contents from different regions will be added.

Amazing to be able to explore cinema that lives off the beaten paths. The app in itself is ok (although I wish I knew how to make sure movies are saved on the SD Card on my mobile device) and the content it allows one to access is really worth it.

I don't know why all the comments I saw were saying that app is buggy, for me, it's working just fine. It's a solid 4 star app, but have to give 5 star because so many bad reviews are not justifying it's quality. Yes, it is costly, but it's a curated service and you are paying premium for that. Playback is working as intended, I can pause, and drag it anyway I like, no issue there. But yeah UI is a little clunky and need some more work.

needs better UI to see how many movies are available right now in mubi what kind of genres and movies based on languages and search based on directors...it will be more useful if we can the list of movies in each category mubi gives in a section rather than sliding left and right...❤️ thanks
