How does it function?
Buy your ticket directly by appYou can travel all over Munich using the new ticket (MVV)
- single tickets, day tickets, stripe Tickets, the airport-city-day-ticket, the city tour ticket or a day ticket for your bike. You pay by credit card (visa, master card, Amex) or by bank transfer.
Intergrated information of the Munich timetable (MVV) The timetable information gives you information about connections and addresses in Munich. It is just as convenient as the German Railway (DB) navigator. You can store the information under 'favourites'.
Check the next Trains at your StationYou can see an overview of all trains at your station and check for delays
Disturbances (Störungen)You can get information in the case of sudden changes of timetable.
Confirm present positionYou can check your present position, especially if you are a stranger in Munich. Use the app. and find out where you are and where the best bus stop or station is in order to reach your destination.
Subscription function (alarm function for delays)The alarm will inform you of any delays by using the 'press' function.
My DB car sharing and 'call a bike' functionWhen you have reached your destination you can find stations for 'car sharing' or the position of 'call a bikes' under “Nearby”

Update: The intent and function of the app could be great. My first review had 4 stars a later one 3 stars becaus the info was sometimes not correct. Now I give 1 star. It is not reliable at all anymore. I repeatedly miss trains due to wrong info. Like. Departure in 10 minutes. 2 minutes later: depature in 2 minutes.
Great way to navigate the Munich transport system. Very accurate and reacts well to any delays in the network. Hadn't used it for over a year and find that it has much improved.
Very bad, we have bought a ticket and paid via PayPal. The money has been taken but no ticket there. What kind of App is that??????
The app took the money without any problems, but it didn't manage to download the ticket, even from the link from the e-mail was impossible. I don't recommend buying tickets from the app. As a schedule, the app works well.
The area where people have to add travellers name for Bayern ticket is not intuitive. Once we add multiple person there isn't anything that tells us to add the name of travellers. This can be costly for someone who doesn't know how this system work and app should be made in a way so that it is intuitive to use. Lost money because of this.
Since the recent update that made the logo green, I can no longer buy tickets via the app (malformed request...). Re-installing did not resolve the issue.
App is fast and responsive but platform information should be made available from the bus stations. For example in Pasing or Allach, there are several bus stations so platform number would be really helpful. And the bus delays are not reported correctly. I think the data from MVG is not updated here.
Too often, "No tickets available for your selection" even for a simple, direct trips.
This app is better than MVV's app. You can select the text in the app and use Google Translate to translate the information about trains. It is very good for people like me who does not speak German. Live map view is very useful for checking whether the trains run on that line.
Recent update (green color scheme) broke the ticket buying feature - such a shame, otherwise great app.
Update completely broke the app. Can't access my bought tickets anymore.
Unable to buy tickets now after update , cannot link to my PayPal.
At least once a week I have server connection problems not allowing me to buy a ticket.
It is just horrible. I failed to pay for a ticket, because when I selected the payment method nothing happened. Moreover, route planner does not work offline and therefore is completely useless for tourists who do not have access to the internet. And why do you even need such long and complicated sign up procedure?
Doesn't reflect delays when they happen. Today I was traveling from Siemenswerke into the city and the app didn't show that S7 scheduled at 10:13 is coming 5 minutes late. DB Navigator app showed this delay. Today 13.05, the same: the train is scheduled to come at 12:13, is coming late at 12:20. DB Navigator shows the delay, Munich navigator doesn't. maybe caching problem somewhere?
It's everything one needs in Munich public transport. Also shows various tickets possible when looking up with trip planner and can buy tickets. Very good.
App just crashed and have already bought tickets
On the real time navigator,not every s-bahn which is in service is shown on the map.Just missed a "ghost" train from Ostbahnhof by a few seconds because it was not showing on the real time map.
On 3 seperate occasions I have waited for 3 very delayed s bahns (over 20mins) and the app shows them as being on time. So far I see no use to this app!
I can't pay with PayPal, please fix it... After selecting my ticket PayPal doesn't work to pay.. Only to do the login but not complete the transaction. Danke
generally good, BUT cancelled or changed train schedules are still not correctly shown - this is extremely frustrating.
The app itself is great, but the S-Bahn delays and cancellations on a daily basis have become a nightmare for the Munich citizens!
Useless. It said a certain train was coming late at night at a certain platform. It didn't. Made me wait for ages and then had to take a cab. I've never seen so much disrespect for customers.
I moved here from the UK. It has been a life save as all announcements are in German. Helps with train delays.
Few reasons for 1 stars: - "Price calculations currently not possible" - buying tickets takes long - cannot use PayPal registered with different email - updates of the service not really realistic
Great app for getting service delay information.. which is almost everyday or even every hour...shame on MVV for a 5h1t service but the App is great ;)
The app wrongly shows buses and trains as arriving although they never arrived. Totally useless.
The app doesn't show usefull information. The Map function doesn't show any line.
Ticket and payment flow is to complicated and reacts slowly. Juts loading the selection of tickets takes up to 5 second on fast connection. There is no support for Google Pay or Paydirekt, which would speed up and really simplify the payment process, as they require no login and could approve payment quickly.
