Mupen64Plus, Android Edition (AE) is an N64 emulator for Android. It is currently in Beta testing, which means it is a work in progress. There are still many graphical, lag, and audio problems, even on modern devices. Visit www.paulscode.com to get involved in development and testing, as well as bug-fixes and FAQs.
In order to avoid potential copyright issues related to game screenshots, I've decided to use only public domain games and demos for screenshots. However, if the app gets pulled from the Market again, you will still be able to acquire future updates for free on paulscode.com.
This app is licensed by the GNU GPL v3, and the full source code is available through the public GIT repository at https://github.com/paulscode/mupen64plus-ae If any developers would like write access to the repository, please get in touch with me (Paul) on the support forum. If you need help branching the project, just let me know, and I can help you get set up.

GETTING STARTED
- Transfer ROMs anywhere to your internal storage/SD card
- Browse to them from within the app
- Default SD card directory on most devices is /mnt/sdcard
- ROMs must be in .n64, .v64, or .z64 format, optionally in .zip files

So I don't know if it's my device, I have a galaxy s9 plus. And the emulator won't stretch the screen to fit. Screen scaling is seriously broken for me None- doesn't do anything small box in center of screen Zoom- same size box Crop - only one that works but it cuts off most of the screen on my device Stretch ( the one I want to use.) distorts everything but keeps it in the same size window as none or zoom
The emulation quality on my Note 9 is a bit choppy and the audio is clipping. most infuriating of all tho is that the frame scaling is really lacking, the addition of more reliable scaling would raise my rating to a 4. As of now I cant even use this on my N9
If you have anything newer android past 2019, don't bother with this app. It's not compatible and probably won't get updated ever again. Seems the last update was in 2014. And it does not work with Samsung A32, S20, S21 especially.
This emulator neede alot of work. The $0.99 is a small price for this emulator but there's alot of errors and bugs it can be resolved. I suggest maybe in a next update to implement a donation option for people to help out with the app developer. To convince the app developer to fix many issues and the app would probably work fine, and the app developer gets donations. I was using this emulator on my LG V20. Couldn't play the game with minimal video. frame rate was like a stuttery 25.
Doesn't work on Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5g. Paid for Mupen64Plus AE and after download the app will not open. Keeps giving error messages to unplug, and restart app. App was then deleted and re-download with the same results 3 times now. Hope they fix whatever is wrong.
i love this emulator. it runs smoothly most of the time. the issue i have is that when i try to run the pokemon snap rom, the analog stick toggle for the camera isn't workinf. please fix this issue.
The app is good dude. But we need a Full screen or immersive mode . Yknow without the home and back buttons because im always exiting out the app Also maybe the option to crop the buttons positions. Otherwise good job
Button mapping is bugged at best; does not seem to recognize the difference between a dpad and an analog stick. There are better free emulators out there.
Awesome emulator but the only issue I have is that its doesn't fully detect all the buttons on my Bebkncool bluetooth controller. This was a disappointment hopefully this gets resolved.
It's a really great app... It would be the really awesome if we could play against other players with same app, using internet connectivity... like Goldeneye64, play against three other players using the same and that are connected on the internet
I've had this on my older phones and it worked great, no problems, but now I got a new phone and it says it was made for a older version of Android and won't load any of my games...
Great emulator for N64 games + really good performance on games. Recently I just got the paid version since I have been using the free version for 3+ years
Best emulator in my opinion for the N64. I love playing various classics from my childhood that I own on the go, especially wrestling games.
I wish you could add custom controls, but other than that this emulator is really good and worth my money.
It's alright... I wish there was further updates I wouldn't recommend buying this in all honesty it has all the settings any other emulator would have...
Cheats can't be enabled by joypad key presses (even in big picture mode) if you're using a Fire Stick.
Terrible app only a and b buttons will work can't move or use any other buttons no matter what I change in the settings it just lags and gets worse I don't recommend this emulator to any won
Well purchase again if it's updated to work with newer devices. Works on my chromebook great, best one I've found.
Used to work amazing, now says its not made for newer versions of android and cant load anything. Do not buy.

This app is complete poop I've had it for awhile thinking they would update it and fix the framerates for some games but nope!!
Roms do not load. All roms download to this emulator but when opening, scenery glitches. I want a refund.
It would be nice if Pokemon stadium 1or 2 was compatible......thumbstick doesn't work onlii game where it happens
Everytime I try to play a game it works great for like 3 minutes and then i end up on the start menu
Doesn't work on my new phone (android 11) I guess it hasn't been updated in a while? Keep that in mind before purchasing.

Error extracting app data. Please unplug USB cable, reboot device, and re-launch app. Awesome way to spend a buck. Idk if you know this, but phones do not have a USB port. Even if it was implying that I need to take my phone off the charger, it isn't even plugged in to a charger or anything else. Just wanna play Jet Force Gemini. Please explain what I'm doing wrong.
