Does what it should, really. It's meant to enjoy 64-bit retro titles from an older generation. Unfortunately, the ads bring the quality down a lot. It used to be there were no ads, and if they were they didn't add a wait time to get into a game. Yeah, there's the pro version, and I may or may not purchase that down the road. It just never used to be necessary.
I used to have this as a five star, but the new updates really lowered it. It still works fine and is a great emulator, and I understand that ads are needed for revenue. But it feels in bad taste when the update also added a ten second wait before loading a game when it wasn't needed before, and it's an excuse to put an ad. There's also now an annoying saving process when you exit a game. Again still a great emulator and I understand nothing is free. But this lowered my opinion.
It's an amazing emulator, great quality. It feels like an actual console when I connect my chromebook to the tv. Settings are simple and easy to use. It also has so many controller options already. You can create your own controller profile if your controller isn't listed.
Good but..... Use it on my phone and it works great. If I use it on my Android TV (which is where I really enjoy it) rumble pack functionality goes away. Also doesn't recognize some of the titles in my library on Android TV that is picked up on my phone just fine (have the same folder structure for the ROMs). Clean that up and this would be a 5* program.
I still kind of want just an In-App Purchase inside the free version for the ads, I mean I don't even want the netplay feature since...I don't really have friends who want to play N64 games with me anyway since it wasn't even my generation. Also I'm just really scared of transferring settings, will the import/export really transfer ALL settings? I'm still getting PTSD from when I lost settings from ePSxe, and setting up touchscreen controls on that was not OCD friendly (totally unlike this one).
If you're going to put ads in the free version, you need to remove barriers to moving to the paid version. Configuration, save games, and controller profiles all need to transfer automatically when the user upgrades. Otherwise it just makes them regret paying. It also wouldn't hurt to include some new feature with the ads version to make it worth updating the app. For example, being able to long-press on a title and make a home screen shortcut to it.
This emulator is not worth what it's being setup as it could work on my tablet HD10. I went into my emulation settings and I have tried the same settings if you're lucky or not, I went there just about plenty of times it didn't workout the same and when I go to controls settings it made you press some buttons whenever it feels like and there's no way I'm able to play some piece of trash emulator that gets thrown away. and needs clear updates.
I rated this emulator five stars for over a year and a half. Now sadly I had to drop it a star. The countdown wait with the ad was one ad too many. Please don't add any more ads to this wonderful emulator. It's beginning to feel like the updates aren't improvements but rather more clever ways to add ads and bloatware.
Flat out Fantastic as an emulator. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED FOR THE SURFACE DUO & Z FOLD SERIES. Zero issues running Donkey Kong 64 the past few days, except for the notorious Camera zoom bug. That is an easy fix just by switching to GlideAccurate64 in Profiles. Edit: There is an issue with DK64 where you can't take a picture of the fairy inside a cage in Gloomy Galleon. EDIT: Fixed with Parallel core.. Also the new countdown system is rough.
Great emulator and runs well my no problems for me at all it lags a bit because I'm using a low end phone but it rarely happens and it doesn't really matter as long as I can play kirby,Alright the Emulator has it's problems on rendering and all that and Smash Bros. Controls,Mario Tennis does not want to run at all it lags like a rough surface on a hot day
Beat android n64 emulator in fps by a mile. Constant 30 fps with 100-300% speed vs retroarch's 10 fps and audio stutter on my 3 gb ram. Only complaint is i wish it had a resizable or movable button ui option. Being able to resize the A and B buttons to be their old size and customize the z and lr buttons for tablet play would be amazing.
Runs great on my phone and it seems to be compatible with most roms out there. Although most controls are right, for some games, the controls do not work perfectly or the necessary buttons do not appear on screen. Still, I am very happy with this emulator. They could maybe add a way to customize the controls. That would fix the issue.
It was a fantastic application but with recent update adding ads, i have noticed crashes opening games which hurts the overall experience i dont mind ads but a banner perhaps in top of menu with a ad would be less intrusive.
Good interface and settings. Several cores to choose from. N64 emulation itself is often disappointing but this is probably as good as it gets on Android.
Lots of customization with video plug-ins. One of the few emulators I will use outside of Retroarch since it's more accurate and has better optimization. Right now there is a problem with the Z Fold 2 on Android 12 where enabling "raw USB access" for use with the raphnet v3 n64 controller adapter breaks the emulator, but I'm confident that will be fixed in the next update. The developer is very in tune with the fans of this emulator.
One of the best emulators out there it's outmatched by none other in my opinion as far as emulators go and you can't go wrong when you can link up more than just two players in a system like this not to mention more than just to game pads on one phone or tablet LOL great job
It's cool and awesome because all the games have high definition/resolution, cool gamepads and cool cheats to use but my problem was some of the games are laggy a bit some a bit too much also the continue screen that takes long forever.
Input lag is pretty bad, takes link 0.5 seconds to move. I tested lag with a gamepad tester and it's instantaneous so I know it's just the software..
Works really well. I finally figured out how to edit button places. (Profiles, touchscreen Profiles, new. Then arrange them however you like).
Now understanding the situation I was wrong for my comment and my one start review. I'm giving the the dev 5 stars please don't complain about there being ads like I did and be more understanding a lot of work and effort goes into making emulators this is something I knew and I still made the same mistake as many ppl have. Emulators take a lot of work and dedication as well as time. Please be more understanding for this is a great emulator.
The features and settings for this app are very outdated. There should be options to configure the touchscreen layout to your liking as well as an option make the space between the A button and the B button a double press, so essentially A+B to avoid having to let go of one button constantly. We should also be able to have the joystick position automatically follow our thumb instead of having to always drag it from its "resting position" in the middle.
(OLD)Great compatibility and very customizable. Highly recommend for any level of hardware. (NEW) still great, but ads really big down the experience
Literally every competent emulator out there has zero ads. You could open a Patreon or just continue selling your paid version. I don't care what others say. This is shameful and I don't believe in monetization in emulation. But especially not with ads.. at least redream doesn't have ads
Excellent emulator, works great on my chromebook at fullspeed upscaled to 480p. I can pair my 8bitdo pro 2 and play it any time. Definitely worth having installed.
It's great this emulator is at the top .. Only problem the game saves are inaccessible without being 'ROOT' suddenly I can not use it on my phone and continue playing later on my Box tv Android, this is A big concern that should be corrected, you just have to make sure that the game backups are placed elsewhere than in an inaccessible system folder without being root. Then we can manage to synchronize the backup files via a service Like dropbox and so start playing on your phone and finish playing on your android tv box ... PLEASE UPDATE .. Thank for all..
