First I want to point to a very annoying bug that the music player stops every time I have an ad. Shown on my screen because of apps that contain ads. And once the ad finishes the player do not continue playing after, Sony music player shouldn't stop playing my music because of ads. It should block their sound and keep playing my music, and to lose 2 great functions is disappointing, to aquire music information, and the Web radio & podcast, Sony Walkman used to be better

What a shame! Have used this app in lieu of Google Music for very long because of its great DLNA feature. Now network access has been removed, why? Sorry Sony, you're completely out of users' desire... The loss of such a functionality should not have happened automatically, now I have to revert to stock version without fixes of any kind. Shame on you!

Disappointed. Does its job, but features and settings are basic compared to other players. Albums sometimes split up for odd reasons, and art only seems to display on half my files by default. I want to be able to shuffle quickly by album, artist, etc, but it seems like I'd have to do that all manually in the queue or playlist. HiRes icon when playing applicable files is nice. And it's chewing a lot of battery in the background while music is paused for some reason! +1 star when that's fixed!

I like the app overall. But recently I've noticed that it doesn't take input correctly from google assistant. If I ask google to play a particular song on the "Music" app it by default plays a song that came with the phone. This wasn't the case when I first started using the app. I'd be very happy if Sony gets this issue fixed.

Alright. Sony why? I specifically got an Xperia phone so I'd have an optimized music app that could play my hi res lossless files. And the stock Music app cannot read metadata on .wav, ALL listed "unknown." I had to just resign and convert them all back to .flac format. Not only that but although your app is AAuto compatible when I tap on the artist it shuffles the all artist songs, so please add the ability to see albums after I tap artist! Oh and forget having audio controls & file info...

*Update* I have taken 3 stars away. This is because the only thing that's changed since 2012 is the loss of tag info collection and the choice of light & dark themes! It's time you let us scroll through a FAR BIGGER list of "Recently Added" & let us change the SORT ORDER of Albums etc by Date Added-Recent & old, modified, size, name etc. All Music apps have had these for over 5 to ten years. Time to catch up, being a "world leader" in audio🎧🔉! But I still love you after all these years ❤️😉🙏

The music is good but, I have only one problem. I'm using Xperia Z2 and this app can't even download the complete and correct details of the song, or should I say in simpler words, Gracenote is missing. How can I download the song's correct details? Thankyou.

I love that the widget is 4x1. But I hate that I can not exclude/hide folders. If this would be added, I would use the app non-stop. (And give 5 stars)

I would love to give 5 stars, but the Sony Walkman app was better. Need to add option to hide/block folder (ringtones, notifications, etc). Option to edit playlists, remove songs from playlist, only option is delete from device.

I like the app to play music Works with 600GB of MP3, ogg and flac files. Usually I use the folder view to play I miss the possibility to fast forward or backward in a title when in Android Auto mode Please add the slider from the normal screen to Android Auto too, thanks

File Scanning issue, the music player is having an issue about scanning music files in my external sd card. I can't search some songs in the library and I can only play them when I manually open the file.

The widget that was 4x2 has now changed to 4x1 What happened here? No warning no update not even an option for both widget sizes. Is this something Sony/Android is preparing for Android 12? This size is small but handy as you can fit another row of apps on the same screen but I'd still like it if there was an option for both widget sizes.

Doesn't work with Android Auto unable to browse library, unable to control music.

Have had this great app for years but recently it has been deleting songs in my playlists. For example I had 109 songs on ten albums of one of my favourite bands and without warning it left me with just 15 songs. And it also cleared complete album contents and left me with one song from other singers. I just had to delete it, which is the last thing I wanted to.

Some flac file is not showing from the app, but it can play when i open with it.

This an absolutely useless app! Locked to Google drive! Why? Can't add or remove folders, why? Have useless tiled interface, where is the list of my songs?! Useless!

A great Music app, but... First, it need to add more "Sound effects" and also more "Themes". Second, it has a big problem; All of Musics in a folder will play with a same cover!! A random cover of a music file in this folder that it not change when songs changed. Always you see that same cover. I tried some ways to fix it, like deleting and downloading again, changing thae folders, moving the files and ... but... nothing! Please make sure you will fix it as soon as possible. All of my thanks 2U.

The sound is a lot better than when using poweramp but it lacks the controls of poweramp. For instance, i cannot switch to next album

Great except: please add gapless playback between songs in the same album. Also please add khz/bitrate info for flac files. Normalizer between songs to protect hearing. Thank you

I've been quite a fan of Xperia phones, since i started using them back in 2014. One of the most attractive features of Xperia has been the music: the music quality was great, I get to adjust the music balance, and most importantly, my music is automatically curated as the inbuilt music player has the ability to read metadata. To my disappointment, most of these functions have been compromise/made obsolete. I hope that Sony can bring back these features that set them apart from other phones.

It's a pretty standard music app. I like that you can download information for songs; it can make things a little easier, though sometimes the information the app finds is wrong and sometimes it can't find any information at all, but that doesn't bother me too much. The app works well enough, it serves its basic purpose, but... well, a lot of music these days have multiple artists and genres. It'd really set this app apart from the others and make it much more user friendly if there was a function to separate and recognise the different artists and genres, rather than clumsily lump them all together. It makes things difficult and a little ugly.
