Good player, BUT continues to play even after exiting the app. Automatically restarts when I start the car--even when app is closed. I use the "EXIT PLAYER" Iin the menu. But apparently player is not exited, even after restart. Developer does not seem much interested in fixing this problem.
I love that I can play one folder at a time with all the songs in it while not playing what is in my other folders. It has many options and configurations so you can make this app do exactly what you want it to do. Definitely worth the donation to make adds go away. I've used it for years and love it. Good job developer. It's quite stable but with one exception. It can pause your music automatically when a phone call comes in. It can also be configured to automatically resume playing when the phone call hangs up. If you have that feature turned on, the problem is that it will automatically start playing when a phone call hangs up even if you were not listening to it before the phone call arrived. It is not smart enough to realize you weren't listening to it before the phone call so you wouldn't want it to automatically have itit tu on just because you got a phone call. That's the only bug I've found but it has been there for years. Come on. Fix it. Make it smarter. I love that you can long press on a song to delete it when you find a song you no longer want to hear again. Great app.
Disclaimer: I love this app. I've been using it for 2 years and have had amazing experiences. Some things I think this app could possibly work on: 1. Sometimes after I've added a song to a playlist or my favorites, then I rename it, the song disappears from these places and it's only shown in its origin folder. 2. This is just a suggestion but I would love to be able to add a song to queue, and to be able to see the queue somewhere (maybe somewhere in the now playing screen).
Love This App! Finally, a music player that displays my music the way I want. I have over 90 GBs of music on my phone, separated into different folders. Some by album, style, genre, and favorites. Now I can easily find and play what I want to hear. One small needed feature would be the ability to designate and save the Shuffle setting for each individual folder. When listening to entire albums, you don't really want the songs to shuffle, but playlists or favorites you usually do.
Very good player, that can use your folder structure to order your music, which I really like. It works flawlesly. The only minor issue is that sometimes the whole GUI gets a bluish shade (like when you select an item. I guess the color depends on your colors settings). It does not affect features or performance, it is a darker interface. Turning it off and on solves the issue.
Basically does what is advertised, which is exactly what I needed. I don't care about what's in the ID3 tags. Just show me my files! In that regard, this app delivers in spades! I had several dubstep mixes over an hour long that would sometimes randomly stop playing. Thanks to the dev's quick feedback, I was able to change the audio decoder settings, which made the initial issue vanish! However, normal length songs now randomly drop out and start back up. Very jarring and annoying!
Working well for playing music non-stop on my phone. People don't know how to work it and then blame everyone else. My record covers don't appear on this. Only the title, but the cover appears on my phones' file manager. When I run this app, my phone battery starts draining like a leaking gas tank and don't know what's doing it. Checked and turned everything else off and only happens when I run this app. It didn't do this before and now I'm not sure how to keep the app from starting on its own.
This app is perfect! Yeah it might not be the prettiest one on the Google play store but it is the most functional. I can play music or podcasts or whatever folder i want without all the mp3s being grouped together. This app has lots of functions and options you can change. I also asked them a question and they replied immediately. 5 stars I plan on buying it as soon as I get payed
Could use a visualizer feature, like how foobar2000 has spectrum, spectrogram, oscilloscope and so on... Other than that it's a great simple player, easy to use and quite a few customization options. I've been using this through 3 phones over the past few years, that being said, I'd recommend it to anyone who's looking for a simple, minimalistic music player.
An excellent app that I've been using for at least 5 years. When I changed my phone, however, I cannot set my preferences to my liking. The settings seem to go back to default whenever I exit the player. Is there any way to make it "remember" my preferences? Edited: I fixed it by changing the Folder Setup: unticked the box for Detect New Audio Root Folders. Definitely a 5-star app.
Overall, this is just what I was looking for. Easy to navigate folders. You're not forced into an app's searching for music and sorting it for you. I like that it allows you to even choose simpler folder views and choose font size. (It seems this world is built these days for 1 type of person; the type that needs big flashy buttons and eye candy with no control.) The auto repeat function was tough to find. Challenge: Still not total folder navigation freedom. Based on audio root folders.
Great app. You can point it to a folder, or let it find your folders,, and it will play all the audios, or videos (sound only), in that folder. Will play in order, or random, with repeat all, and an EQ to help with optimising phone speakers or BT speaker sound. I have used this app for several months, and it is very reliable. Hey ZorillaSo along with this one that plays all the songs in a folder, how about making an app that plays videos from folders, (with showing the videos), as well. 👍👍
Great little app that let's me navigate files by folder. Includes playlists, customizable ffwd & reverse, just what I was looking for. Could do without the nag screen that keeps yelling me to turn my volume down. Ad only pops up when pressing back button, only a bit snnoying, not bad. I plan to buy this app to get rid of the ad but also because I really like the app.
I love it, but too bad it doesn't have a rotational lock. please add this feature. if this feature does exist, please make it easier for us to find it in the menu, because I cannot find it. every time when I'm unlock my phone I have to rotate it to press the pause button, it's very annoying. and my phone is very slow for rotating the screen. thank you for making this app. I love the menu of this application. very easy to navigation the in folder menu. please update my with feedback, thank you :-)
An excellent free sound file player. The adverts are not obtrusive. It allows you to group music files in to play-lists. I like that it remembers where you were, in playing a music file, when you close it down, and that it continues playing, when you put it in the back-ground. The controls are bold and easy-to-use. A highly recommended app.
This app is an excellent music player, but why is it burning almost 400 MB of mobile data each month?! My music is stored on an internal SD card. I understand it needs to finance itself with ads, but that doesn't come close to needing this much data. I'm going to look for another music player. It's a shame, though, since the app plays music so well. Edit: Thanks for the response, ZorillaSoft. I'll try to restrict data usage another way then.
There's apparently no way to do something as simple as deleting a playlist, even when the audio source files have been deleted. (Edit: The developer responded telling me to do something I tried many times, so I'm gonna assume it's just my old phone and change my rating to 4 stars. I appreciate devs taking the time.) (2nd edit: Been using the app for a long time now and whatever bugs may have been there have been worked out and the app functions great! 5★)
Music Folder Player is the best even though it now has ads w/ music. I have tried other free players they can't play CD 1 & CD 2 in a row. Also lining up artist/albums correctly. Although they do have more features, this is a big problem for me when playing my music. I wish the developer would take a look at some of these features in other folder players. paying for the Pro Version, seems like in this day & age, everyone wants free software & expects it. It wasnt always like that. MFP ROCKS.
I've tried numerous folder players and this is by far the best! The pop-up ads when you're leaving a folder are annoying, but they gotta make $. The full version is VERY fairly priced, so i bought it & reccomend you do the same. If you turn on shuffle, it will hold your place no matter how many different folders you have a shuffle going in. I hope it doesn't repeat songs before they're all played, but i haven't had it long enough to confirm that. Buy this with confidence!
If you have your music already organized in folders, then this is the player you want. It's easy to use, intuitive and sounds great even without using the built in equalizer. My only issue is the lack of a que function but even so, this is the player for me and will be for anyone else who has their music set up in folders. Great app!
I like its organized approach. I have all my music in folders by genre, and I was able to easily drop each folder into a Playlist. My concerns is the lack of visual appeal, how it defaults to a home screen of all empty folders on my phone storage. I wish it would remember all my music is on the SD card and show me only my music folders when it opens. It also had trouble scanning and finding my SD card music. Otherwise I like the simplicity, I like options being up front and not in a deep menu.
