This is my firts android phone so I am just trying things out because my computer broke. I had been getting to knowmusescore on my computer. I was a bit sad the this app does not transpose things but for a fun way to enter a tune fast it is fun. However sometimes it jangs which is annoying. Quite likely I don't mnow m7ch about its capabilities yet.
This app is awesome for those who want to transpose/compose/arrange on the go!! However there are a few bugs that need addressing, such as the dynamics sometimes weirding out or not being able to delete the last measure on the end (whether it contains notes or not; crashes when doing so). There are some improvements I would make as well, such as implementing a more clear/easier to use copy/paste tool or being able to choose where playback begins.
Takes a few mins getting used to, but if you read the "Help" section, it will answer a lot of those questions. I have the paid version and it's well worth it! The "Save" button is more like a "Save As" and the transpositions will only take on bars with music written in them. I have a degree in Music Performance and I am having A LOT of fun with this app!! I have tried Finale and Sibelius and this seems so much faster and easier (portable too, because I just take my tablet & headphones wherever and can leave my laptop and keyboard at home!) Notation software cannot be easy to write, so props to the creator!
It's pretty well made but there are a few bugs that kind of break it for me. One being that a base clef will sometimes sound the same as a treble clef when using the piano (maybe others as well). Please fix this, developers.
Started out working just fine, and I've composed stuff with it, and paid for the full version, but after a little bit the D.C. and Fine notations stopped working when I played the music. Other than that it works just fine and it's a really good app, just that one bug.
This app is useless. It continually changes my notes and rests when what I'm trying to put in fits in the measure, and refuses to add dotted notes the majority of time. I got the first measure done in 15 minutes and the next one took ½ an hour. Uninstalled.
Most thorough app of this type that I have seen (all possible symbols). Free version lets you test everything. I only have two complaints: placing new noted is awkward; due to the "fat finger effect" I'm always off by a second or a third. There are convenient tools for fixing this, but I would prefer a colored target approach that other similar apps use. The other annoyance is copying and pasting - if you're trying to shift a range of notes left or right, most of the notes are dropped (!) upon pasting or randomly show up several bars away. If these two significant problems were fixed, this would be 5 stars. Note: I'm using this on a phone, not a tablet. It works surprisingly well on a small device (just need to zoom in).
This would be near-perfect if it offered export to mp3, and if it paid attention to the sustain pedal notations on piano playback. Import MIDI or sheet music would be incredible.
This is a great app - I particularly like being able to easily edit a note once it is input. I see that there is a plan to add export in XML in order to link with other music apps - that would be great. All in all just what i wanted!
I've been using another app for about 3 years now, but only because I didn't know about Music Notation! My biggest complaint with the other app was not being able to change keys/time signatures in the middle of a piece. Plus, now I have a transpose option, copy/cut/paste, and more repeat options!? I couldn't be happier with this app ... Five stars; however, I would love to see a few more options: 1) muting voices/instruments, 2) option to save with the mutes, 3) copy and paste voices not just staves.
This is the perfect app for anyone who is interested in music notation on the go. The interface is easy to learn, and can do just about anything you want it to.
It let me type everything out then when I tried to save it, the app tells me I have to pay to save it. When I pressed back as didn't want to pay to save funnily enough the app crashed. Well there's a thing!
Bwst music notation app. Well worth the price just add the ability to transpose different instruments in one song
Great App. I increased the ratings after reading the help session. All my problems were solved.
I love this app. So i can make piece as many as i want. But there is one mising. Is slide down the note. And also please fix it because i can't place note properly. That's why I rate 4 stars. Please fix and make it perfect.
This might be more descent with more instruments and dynamics that actually work. Seriously, make the loudest whole note possible decrrcendo into the quietest whole note possible. You can barely tell the difference.
I have paid version. App features are good, however input response time on Samsung Galaxy tab 10.2 is VERY slow. I.E. over 5 seconds, especially when more than 12 bars.
When exporting to midi, the lyrics do not appear in karaoke players. I had no way of knowing this until I bought the full version. I will give 4 stars if this is fixed and 5 stars if the ability to change MIDI devices is implemented. Thank you.
Brilliant for simple jobs! Haven't tried anything more ambitious yet but I look forward to seeing if it's up to the task.
By now, considering hardware power, Android apps should equal in usability their PC counterparts. This app presents a goods start, but the interface and functions can use an upgrade. Features like selecting a region, transposing etc should be far more intuitive. That being said, comparing with other notation apps on this platform, it is very usable.
I Loved It But I Don't Have The Full Version And I Can't Save
It keeps shutting down or freezing. Willgive it another chance though.
A very good app for note entry on a tablet. . However it needs to have better import/export capabilities, in particular XML. Nevertheless it is the best notation appI have seen so far for android.
I've tried out various mobile music writing apps and believe in the potential of this one so much I've purchased the full version! What would make it particularly useful, especially for the composer on the move, and enable integrating with other score programmes would be the option to export an XML file- can you add this in the very near future please?!
I'm on an LG Stylo 2. All controls work great. This is exactly what I needed in life! My opinion... BEST APP IN PLAYSTORE!!! Only recommendation is to make files transfer between devices. Also a way to extract the audio would be amazing. THANK YOU FOR ALL THE HARD WORK!
Was pretty good til I updated to Android 7. Now, everything I composed prior to the update gives the message, "Could not load file: invalid type code: 71" Can my compositions be salvaged?
Useful when you are stuck in a hotel room and you need to make an arrangment for the next day
Its a great program! I would give it five stars if it didn't freeze up so often.
The best music notation app ever
