Since Google decided to screw everyone by dropping the music player from their Android OS, I was in need of a good music player app. I didn't need anything fancy. Just something with an easy menu to navigate...oh and one that I didn't have to sign away my system with a bunch of unnecessary, intrusive permissions from the developer. Not only did I get all that I was looking for in this music app. It's also Ad free to boot! I will continue to support this developer with his future endeavors.
Great for playing the songs that I have held onto since I had the teeny early model Ipod... Just not sure if on the last transfer from one phone to another I did something wrong and duplicated some songs or if the app did that, so I'm not taking away from the app. There also seems to be 'blank' spots, but if somebody can tell me how I can get rid of some of those duplicates without doing it one by one, I would love the assistance.
I wanted a music player app that would play WMA as well as MP3 files on my android phone. It also needed to cope with getting on 20000 songs in my digital collection on a SD card in the phone. This app does all that and I tend to have the whole collection on shuffle play, so I always have a different listening experience every time. As it does what I needed I'll keep on using it quite happily.
I tried dozens of Mp3 apps and was stunned by how bad they were until I found this one. It just works, it is simple, makes sense, easy to use and it works. Many mp3 players will glitch, they are confusing to use or stop music for ads (unbelievable). Finally I can make playlists and know that I won't have to re-make them again 🙏
Wonderful App. I upgraded from a Galaxy Note 8 to S22 Ultra and needed to find a new app to play music I purchased, since Samsung Music wouldn't allow me to play songs on my new device. This app works wonderfully well. I paid for the ad free experience, and I love it! It plays all of my songs and is actually MUCH better than the Samsung Music app I've used for years.
THE NOTIFICATION BAR PLAY CONTROLS KEEP COMING BACK MINUTES AFTER HITTING X TO CLOSE IT (encountered this on multiple devices)! That's so annoying! Works with Last.FM's Scrobbling! Been looking for a music player for my A5 after using the native Samsung Music player on my S5 for years. I'm really enjoying this so far! I adore the list view and line dividers! And it has some nice features like for audiobooks and hiding under 10 second songs. Some things are a bit off (custom image themes wonky).
Does not group albums under artist. By that I mean you can't click an artist and get a list of albums. You get the complete list of songs. You can sort the songs by album but it's not nearly as convenient. It's like they need one more layer within their file system. It does play wma files though so that's a plus.
Only firebox today, so may update this review. App does everything I want it to do, so far. One small thing is this, it offers you the option to hide short songs, which I selected but they are still showing in the songs list. I may be missing something so I'll come back with a further review soon. 23/05/2022
fantastic!! there's minimal ads which is great for a free app. the theme settings are great, auto-scanning for music, and file hiding so you choose what shows up are all features i love. i also really like the ability to hide any category tabs (albums, playlists, audiobooks, etc) that i dont use. and the app ui is very intuitive. a rare gem of a find in the free app world, no complaints :)
Best local music app ive used, i like having downloaded music and this app makes organizing a breeze, especially after fixing the file meta-data which are never right after file conversions, i use star music tag editor. Also has a nice EQ, visual effects that arent too much when u want them, and plays m4a files, which are superior to mp3. Never going back to any other mp3 app, will make sure this is what i download when i finally upgrade my phone
Pretty nice, clean app where ads are present but not annoying or blocking, so that's nice. I have yet to try it with bluetooth devices. What could use some improvement though, is the UI. The buttons are numerous and really small, which makes it hard to tap them without accidentally tapping the button next to it. Also, please get rid of the rotating album art. Just static album art would be much better, this is weird and distracting.
Very nice music player, but I don't see a way to import playlists (m3u) from my PC-based music player. Would be good to provide those kinds of instructions. Also, I agree with the previously stated issues: Would like the option of opening the artist and getting a list of the albums instead of all the songs and would like the display of albums to include the album cover from the album folder. After all, I can see the album cover from the song view.
Overall, very nice app (with no ad). I like to Bookmark my favorite songs for listening later. I have already saved several songs to the "Favorite" option of this app for listening later. But, recently, I can't find the "Favorite" option or folder, from where I can play my saved musics. Can you please provide me a solution for this problem? Thank you.
Absolutely fantastic music player! I couldn't access about 30% of my music library because my previous music player couldn't read WMA files. I looked all over for an app that could and this one fit the bill. It also has a playback speed control with great resolution which is AWESOME for trying to learn instrumental breaks! The interface is smooth and intuitive and it just WORKS! Well done!
Update: Gave this app 5 stars last week and then paid for ad-free version. That's when I found I can't close it like all my other apps, have to force quit--if I forget and tap on my earbuds while watching TV the last song I listened to starts up again. Maybe I'm the only person with this problem, but no response from the developers. Still a great app but this is a pain. I'll restore the star if I find a solution.
The app is great for all those who have downloaded music on their phone; good, clear playback, the user interface is easy to work with, and, most importantly: NO ADS! Thank you for the great app, its exactly what I needed, unlike those useless streaming services, where you have ads every two songs.
This app has a good, easy to use interface with nice customation and it works really well with what I want. The only thing I have run into is that the shuffling often puts several songs by the same artist one after the other which makes it less interesting, but other than that it's an amazing application!
Amazing. Literally changed my life! First time in three years I've been able to play my device files and purchased music properly. This app is a dream come true. You can designate Favorites, make one Playlist that isn't complicated by offline/online bs that's different every dang time, organize intuitively... It's just wonderful. IYKYK! THANK YOU!!
The app is quite easy to use, but I have problems with the organisation. When you have audiobooks can you change it so that it is moved from the songs section. Also, I would like to change the covers of playlists and albums. If these features are implemented I would give it a five star review.
Had to get a new phone, and since Sony doesn't make phones anymore (unfortunately) had to get a new one without the default music app. This app is on par with the Sony default music app. The best part? It doesn't turn your song off if you accidentally close the application!
After my old app was taken away, had to move to Samsung Music. I lost the ability to play approx 50% of my songs. I tried this app and so far it's just what I needed. It plays all of my songs and allows me to easily create playlists. Thank you for a nice, user-friendly music player app.
A great and easy to use app with various options and features that my old, preloaded music app on my phone was very much missing. Overall I rate this highly and even the ads are easy to dismiss, plus there's no wait time for them to clear. A great job done to the programmer/s :).
I love this app. I like this one particularly because I am able to use screen rotation (you can't with most of the others) and it has fast forward and rewind buttons (which the others don't have either). This app also has every other feature I need and more. I had to download and delete about 10 other apps before I found this one perfect app.
Everything about this music app is great, except for one thing. Whenever, I try to change the song info from a different app, that information doesn't change accordingly in this app, which I don't know if it's even possible to fix that. But it was frustrating having the order get mixed up because I have to change the info on this app as well.
