Music Speed Changer (Classic)
Music Speed Changer allows you to change the speed of audio files on your device in real time without affecting the pitch (time stretch), or change the pitch without changing the speed (pitch shift). Alternatively, both speed and pitch may be adjusted together. The app is a music looper as well - you can slow down song speed and loop sections of the music for easy practice. Another feature is the ability to reverse audio (play the music backwards).
You can also save the adjusted audio to an M4A (.m4a) audio file for sharing with friends or listening in another player.
Music Speed Changer is great for musicians practicing an instrument needing to slow down the tempo, speeding up audio books for faster listening, making nightcore or just rocking out to your favorite song at 130%.
Notice for Google Play Music users: Google places DRM on songs purchased through Google Play Music. Your songs purchased in that app will not be visible in Music Speed Changer (or any other music player). A simple way around this is to download the purchased songs through the Google Play Music desktop browser app, then transfer the downloaded .mp3 file to your Android device.

This app won't win any beauty contests (there isn't a dark setting either) but it allowed me to increase the playback speed (tempo) of downloaded podcasts which can be an enormous time saver if you want to extract information quickly. The speed is displayed as a very precise percentage instead of a decimal which may be unfamiliar for those accustomed to Youtube style playback adjustment (.25x-2x). The pitch adjustment amusingly allows vocal changes ranging from Satan to the Chipmunks.
I wish the percent slider was the default, the sound quality gets crushed with the separate speed and pitch sliders, but it keeps all your settings. Looping is also nice to have , reverse is also an option. I'd love to see maybe another slot to load a song and then a switch (not a slider that's a whole other ball game) so you can keep stuff moving with music without having the folder open when you're on the aux.
Pretty good app! Though, I've started to notice after a while (say a week or so) of changing the pitch or speed of a song and saving it, the original would disappear. Yes, I do change the name. I'm not sure if it's because of the lack of storage space on my phone, or what it is. My phone isn't deleting the original; it's kind of as if the newly created song overights the original one after a while. If this happens again, I'll let you know. For now, I'll give it 4 stars. π
The app is awesome! Anyone who reads this should try! I'm sure you won't have to go elsewhere! I've never appreciated any app so much! But this deserves the appreciation and even more! I am fully satisfied with the performance. It works flawlessly ππ Just a little uncomfortable with the ads popping up while online! I'm yet to see how it works offline!
Almost a good app, but it takes a long time to import audio longer than a few hours, so it's usually useless for my purposes. Also there is no way to skip back a second unless you like fumbling with sub pixels on the playback bar. The ads in this version are bearable, unobtrusive banner ads at the bottom of the screen.
This app is easy to use and is great for teaching dance classes, dance practice and dance rehearsals. The features of tempo control, pitch control and looping are very helpful.
Does what it says it does. Overall, it's great for musicians if you want to learn a song in a different key, or hear a part played slowly. I like how it let's me download my files from Dropbox directly into the app. Very useful feature.
I might say this is the best app ever if you want to edit the pitch or the speed of any audio you like. It's not like those other apps I encountered so far because some of them makes the audio sound glitchy. But this one is absolutely amazing. The audio quality is very well! I really recommend this! This is a wonderful app useful whether you're a musician needing to learn a guitar riff, or just needing to decipher the exact wording a caller had spoken in a phone message... Most audio players don't offer adjustable speed or pitch.
I am a musician and this application is really helful when there is interupted. but it makes a little echo after editting with this application. it would be much more better if and when it makes the sound as original. this application desearves morethan 5 stars.
This was the perfect thing that i was wanting when i switched on cellular data, and VOILA job done.....changed the pitch in just 3 secs and saved it in a flash,.... done and dusted thanks for keeping it easy and simple...
Does what it is supposed to do well. But can add a feature that maintains a history of the list of music files previously worked with. That's why I kept one star back.
Edited and updated. At first I wasn't really thrilled with the app. It worked fine but I misunderstood a few things due to not paying attention. It was completely my fault so, I thought I should give an updated review. I've been using the app for several months now and, so far, it seems to be pretty good at doing what it's supposed to. I wish you could also remove certain parts of a song, like the guitar or vocals but, I guess you can't have everything. Lol. Anyway, it's a good app! Try it!

Things that I like about the app is that I can change the pitch and tempo together without glitching but if sepreated, it is glitchy.. This app crashes sometimes.. I'd rate this a 4
Best app for learning songs on any instrument. Tune the song to your instrument, full controll of tempo, and the a/b loop feature is priceless. Thank you very much

Works great. Can change speed without changing pitch and allows you to work on small slices at a time. I use it for transcribing and learning songs.
it works well. unfortunately the file picking function is terrible and there appears to be no way to delete saved files. fatal flaws imo.
The app is good, but whenever you try to change the speed and pitch of the song, the quality gets ruined and distorted

As long as you can get the app to open a song it slows it down a treat....very useful. The problem now is getting mp3's
I downloaded this app because if all the great reviews. This first time it didn't work. I downloaded it again and it is working. After playing a few songs it works well for adjusting the songs to a more appropriate key/pitch for my singing voice. Thank you! Thank you also for making the ads now invasive or annoying.
