Exactly what I needed for drilling intervals. Got premium and I can even make custom drills. Well after spending more time with it as a guitarist I wish I could disable bass clef for melodic dictation. And make custom exercises but the former would be more important.

If you're new or rusty, it's a waste of money. The explanations are the absolute bare minimum and the quizzes are incredibly difficult... because you weren't taught almost anything. If and when you get to Sixteenth Notes and Rests, you'll see what I mean. You get two sentences describing the process and then get hit by a quiz that's nothing but questions with 10-12 notes and rests in a single bar. It's not fun or engaging. It's just frustrating. Skip if you're trying to build a daily habit

Terrific app. I had piano lessons decades ago. I can play chopsticks, but friends can get a Pepsi while I'm trying to read one bar. I have serious work ahead, & I also want to improve my ear training. I can do them simultaneously by turning the sound on - how great is that? The lessons are in logical order. Both the theory & the exercises are easily understood. I love seeing the correct answer, not just an error message. I also love the library, as I'm beginning to learn modes. Thanks! 🙏🙏🙏

This is a very nice application. it would be great if an explanation could be provided when a question is answered incorrectly because I'd get stuck for a while before figuring it out on my own . Also it would be nice if the explanations could be altered to suit the level of the learner ( some ideas were a bit hard to understand quickly.) i was disappointed to see that all lessons after the first have to be purchased but i was willing to buy one0 until i saw the price .

Worth the price to pay full price. Very simple but is absolutely perfect if all you need to do is practice theory.

I find this as an excellent app. Actually had lots of fun. Can't afford the Premium. Hopefully someday. Very valuable learning tool. (There may have been an error or two within the exercises). It would be nice to have a different color, but I can guess that would be there with the upgrade. Haha thx.

Paid for the upgrade to get further lessons and it is totally not worth it. Lessons are brief, covering the bare minimum of content, ie only showing the most basic of scales when the practise exercises a plethora of scales. It's teaching qualities are limited only good as practise if you already know the theory. Would rate 0 star if possible. Very disappointed.

It is of note that my musical skills have reached crescendo with this app. I cannot rest until I know more!

Doing level 1 and I like how it states the basic facts for that level and the practical tests which you can repeat. I was expecting a next button or a complete button for conclusion of a practical exercise but they keep going until you close them.

There should be an option to enable/disable enharmonic notes and intervals. I understand an augmented seccond and a minor third are different things based on the context of the scale or chord but they are enharmonic(meaning the same) so choosing either one should be right, the same thing applies to Cb and Fb being B and E respectively, functionally speaking nobody is gonna say Cb when they can just say B.

Really like this app, helped me a lot in understanding music theory and nice exercises too. Only 1st level is free. After that a bunch more levels for 5,99 but its worth it.... but a lot of beginner and intermediate knowledge is available so would definitely check out the free version!

Great easy learning tool, well thought out, easy to understand with visual pictures. Repentitive but highly beneficial learning exersises.( worth really getting them scores to 100% consistantly before advancing). All this available for free too *****

Quite good, but some terminology is too far from reality. For example Cb(flat) or Fb(flat), there is no Cb in the keyboard. Yes, Cb can be interpreted as and actually is, as B in the piano, but for some beginners, they will find this Cb term confusing. I'm not expert in music. Hope you get my point 😊. Overall, the app is great. I wish it is free 😅.

Started to evaluate this app., but was put off very early on when in the beginners exercises it told me to place a minim after an initial quaver in a bar of 4-4. Anyone with a modicum of music knowledge would know that if a two beat note follows a half note in 4-4, the mid-point of the bar should be acknowledged by tieing a dotted crotchet to a quaver.

I got it for the exercises, but there are too many errors. Many instances where I give the correct answer and it says I'm wrong. Even some of the questions are wrong... IE using B# or Cb or E# or Fb. This app is a disservice to anyone using it to learn music. Also, it says the paid version is $5.99 but it charged me $7.99. It's not even worth the $5.99, let alone $7.99. I've already submitted my claim for full refund.

This app is perfect for learning more about music. I needed to sharpen my skills in the pandemic and once its over ill be a stronger performer because of it. Thank you!

Thought this app would be more interactive and more visually luring. This is more textbook-style learning. Though, it does give you the information you need and the testing pace is good.

For students learning scales for the first time, it would be helpful to have scale ID and scale construcion exercise based just on major scales and then major and natural, harmonic, and melodic minor scales. The modal (exotic) scales could then be saved for more asvanced students.

I really enjoy everything about this app. It's perfect for practicing my note identification during my coffee break. Being able focus the range of notes or the the staff is a big help focusing on my weakest areas.

Great way to learn, and easy explanation.

Love this app! Recommend for beginners in music theory! I like that there are tests after every lesson. Very clean, organized, and easy to digest information. Highly recommend for on the go.

So far I am enjoying this app. I learned to read music more than a half century ago and haven't used it since. I play by ear but really want to understand the theory. So far this is a great step towards that goal. Paid for the full version so let's see where it leads.

There is a problem with at least one part: playing the notes on the bass clef, there is not the ability to go buta few notes beyond the range of middle C--not enough to actually play this educational game.

Tim. B. Oct 21, 2021

This is perfect for leaning note reading and music theory by heart. Theory is taught in small batches which you are then drilled in. I really don't know how this app could be better for my purposes. I read and watch videoes about music theory. While both methods are good for getting a broad picture of the theoretical side of things, none of them store the information in my brain like drilling it in MyMusic Theory.

Jos. A. Jul 22, 2020

Fantastic!! Love the ui and the practice modes help a lot in remembering scales, chords, clefs, and pretty much ecerything you need to know in music theory. Incredibly helpful for music majors.

Ida. A. Sep 24, 2020

My only problem is note identification. Only the notes around middle C iis shown on the keyboard. Im asked to identify high F but it does not show and I can't enlarge the pcture to show more keybard. So I hit low F and am told its wrong. Rightly so. Any way you can allow expansion of the keyboard? Thanks

Very useful app but the frequent uses of E# or Cb could be confusing for beginners. Also would be nice to have access to more content for free but other than that a solid app. Recommended if you like doing theory exercises

A great tool for studying and learning music
