* Description **As you scroll down the lower pitches are shown, as you scroll up, higher pitches are shown. Roughly In the middle is the human voice.
Notes are represented by a green line. Which slides left on the staff. A green line on A4 means that your phone hears a sound with a pitch that you will play on a musical instrument as A4. A blue line means it is a sharp (#). The more green/blue the louder the pitch and the more invisible the quieter the pitch is heard.

* Use Cases **You can use it to practice playing an instrument if you know how to read notes, but will not tell you if its a sharp or flat that you are playing unless you are ambitious enough to master matrix mode of Sound Sight (See limitation 6).
Find out the composition of pitches that make up your voice
Find out the note of that song you are trying to master (see limitation 6 & 2)
If you master matrix mode, you can tune your instrument (see limitation 2)

* Limitations **There are some limitation I would like to address so you will not get disappointed.
1
- Most forms of music that you listen to everyday have lots of notes being played at the same time. And seeing it all in one screen will be difficult to try and master the tune of 1 particular instrument.

- Some instruments like guitar, are not easily computed and you will not see anything useful. The best detected instruments are soft like the flute, recorder, violin and etc... Like wise a song with many instruments will not work very well. A song with around 3 instruments will work fine.

- This is very processor bound application, and the weakest device M2NC has been tested on is HTC Legend which has a cpu of 600 MHz ARM 11 processor. If you have an older device its best not to get this app. M2NC has been heavily optimized to be smooth on devices as old as HTC however its already reaching such devices processing capability (IE on the edge of what the CPU can handle)

- Microphone quality is a large factor in display of musical notes.

- It may not always be so easy to calibrate using the 2 sliders at the top, away from external noise. See calibrating section for info.

- Sharp and Flat notes are detected but not shown in this version. In a later version perhaps different colors for sharp and flat will be represented. However the algorithms used are tuned to those frequencies. There is a matrix mode where you can see all frequencies that are not shown in staff mode.

- There is no recording/playback functionality. This and other features will be included in the paid version.
Aside from these limitations its a fun toy. From a technical stand point its tuned and optimized for standard musical note frequencies where A4 = 440 hz.

I like it. Didn't do what I was thinking which was my misunderstanding but I'm glad to have misunderstood otherwise I likely wouldn't of come cross it. Thanks and yes, I sure will enjoy!
from bad reviews i read, i was unsure about this app. i took a chance to see if it would work. it exceeded my expectations by far! ill never delete it. ive been looking for an app like this and im happy to have it now. i love it!
Omg guys what can I say, this app just works only real time sound and there is actually too hard to see what note is, Maybe this is just waste of time!!
Can't load saved music notes as there's an ad banner over top of the buttons.
gets the tune but is useless as an application, ps gets extra notes too. that are not there
Absolutely atonal takes humming a simple tune and turns it into sitting on a synthesizer.

The most stupidest
It isn't good at picking out notes; oddly when singing a capella it works better (but not well) if asked to capture 3 notes at once instead of 1. App appears unpolished. And it doesn't have a higher level of abstraction than raw time (eg no quarter notes & eighth notes).
It keeps saying things are out of tune. We just got our piano tuned and this app was off in notes. The three notes that it captures never are the good ones. So far it's only been the ones that are the background noise.......It just doesn't work.
From my use of this application it is for the serious musician and composer. I found myself in a no need to question but only practice and this is the music theory application to recommend.
Developers need to work with some front end folks here. have no idea how to use this app properly
Not exactly what I wanted, but it is amazing nonetheless. Works like Google deep dream, where you give the information to the computer to figure it out, and it finds notes that aren't really there, but are separated by octaves. This can turn conversation into music!
Too slow to react to music on my samsung note I I and save does not work.
It captures surrounding sound as a noise in the notes making it useless...the app should only recognise music and nothing else otherwise no use of this app, if one really wanted to find out the notes of the song, in playback as well this noise is getting captured...
Couldn't get it to work or save the work. Bye bye app!
Skips notes, those that are recognized are out of tempo. I understand that music recognition is a difficult task but this tool is not usable.

The mic picked up slim to no sound
Pretty much useless. The ads cover the buttons needed to work the app. Plus it won't save. So, unless you're the world's fastest writer, it doesn't help.
