My BMW Remote
Perhaps you are having trouble locating your BMW in a large parking lot at night or you are unsure if you have locked your parked BMW. With My BMW Remote, you will be able to access remote services to help you in these situations and more, providing you convenience and peace-of-mind. The remote functions of the My BMW Remote app provide you with a connection to your BMW via the mobile phone network.The My BMW Remote app can be used exclusively by customers with an active BMW Assist contract. 2014 and later vehicles, except X6, also require that the vehicle is equipped with the Remote Services option (option code 6AP). In order to use the BMW eDrive Services the option code 6AG is required.
• After you have downloaded the app, you will need your personal access information provided in your BMW Assist contract provided to you by your dealership, in order to setup the app. If you are unsure of your username or password, please call BMW Assist toll-free 1-888-333-6118. Please be advised, if you have recently created an account for the My BMW ConnectedDrive portal (www.bmwusa.com/mybmwconnecteddrive), you must log in to the app using those credentials.
Remote functions include the following:
• BMW eDrive Services: Charging status and vehicle range, display of charging stations, settings relating to charging and air conditioning for departure times as well as efficiency calculation for the driver’s own vehicle use.
• Remote Door Lock & Unlock: send a remote command to lock your vehicle or initiate a call to BMW Assist to unlock your vehicle.
• Online search (powered by Google™): search for local businesses, restaurants, and more and transfer details to your vehicle's navigation system.
• Vehicle Finder*: display current vehicle position on a map
• Remote Sound Horn: send a remote command to sound the horn of your BMW to help locate the vehicle.
• Remote Flash Headlights: send a remote command to flash the headlights of your BMW to help locate the vehicle.
• Comfort Ventilation (NEW feature for My BMW Remote): Send a remote command to activate the ventilation immediately or schedule a time to activate the ventilation in the vehicle.*Note: Vehicle Finder only works if the vehicle is within 0.6 miles (1 kilometer) from the iPhone and the vehicle’s ignition is turned off.
The following vehicles will have Remote Door Lock & Unlock, Online Search, and Vehicle Finder available:
• 1 Series, 3 Series, 5 Series, or 6 Series produced March 2008 or later
• X5 SAV or X6 SAC produced April 2008 or later
• Z4 Roadster from Model Year 2009 or later
• X1 SAV from Model Year 2013 or later
The following vehicles will have Remote Sound Horn and Remote Flash Headlights available, in addition to Remote Door Lock & Unlock, Online Search, and Vehicle Finder:
• X3 SAV from Model Year 2011 or later
• X4 SAV from Model Year 2015 or later
• X5 SAV from Model Year 2014 or later
• 2 Series from Model Year 2014 or later
• 3 Series Sedan from Model Year 2012 or later
• 3 Series Sports Wagon from Model Year 2014 or later
• 3 Series Gran Turismo from Model Year 2014 or later
• 4 Series from Model Year 2014 or later
• 5 Series Gran Turismo from Model Year 2010 or later
• 5 Series Sedan from Model Year 2011 or later
• 6 Series from Model Year 2012 or later
• 7 Series from Model Year 2009 or later
Additionally, the following vehicles will have the ability to use Comfort Ventilation:
• All Model Year 2014 and later vehicles except Z4 Roadster.
The My BMW Remote app is available free of charge to you as a BMW Assist customer. Usage is based on the general contractual and usage conditions for mobility services with BMW Assist.

Noticed that the fuel range wasn't updating and that remote lock commands no longer registered through app. Uninstalled the app and logged back in only to receive an "unexpected error ocurred" message. When clicking ok it switches to a larger message saying that the Remote App was merged with the BMW Connect app, provided a link to Google Play Store but that App is not available in Canada. Called BMW, apparently they are aware of the BMW Remote app issue, working on a fix, no ETA.
Useless app. not only does not have full functionality, but it crashes constantly. It currently doesn't even connect to the BMW Connected Services server. I have a Note 9, fully up to date and this app is incapable to work.
Never really worked. Even if you delete the app and reinstall it, still won't connect to the Connected driver server. It's so useless. How come BMW does nothing after so many (years now) of complaints ? They don't give a fu%k about us.
Crashed suddenly and no access now. Called support and they couldn't help. They suggested that I go to the dealer for help. I have no time for this. Deleted App. Too bad, venting the car in this heat was great.
Does not work. Every time I try and open this app, a message pops up saying "Error while connecting to the ConnectedDrive server". Why is this issue taking so long to address/fix?
Few features compared to competition. Quite buggy... WIth the last update, you have to uninstall the app, go to the web site to deactivate the services, reactivate it. Then you resinstall the app and it works.
Short of useless. Can't even turn on remote seat heating in new X3..what's the point? Lock feature works fine..no remote 3D view, maps don't work..unlock requires calling their support..
should have easy to read screen with status ie charging or not, capacity of battery, cureent level, estimated charging conplete time. it can be seennon firat screen but it is cramped and overwritten by other text.
Horrible. Out of four years I had this app, it works only 10% of the time. I would never have subscribed to ConnectedDrive if I know it is in such a state.
App no longer works, gives an "error connecting to server" message. Expected better from BMW but from volume of negative reviews, it appears they aren't concerned about it.
horrible app. if BMW had paid a high school kid to develop the app he would've done a better job. this might be the worst app on Android ever, brought to us by a "premium" car manufacturer.. a company that can't get a simple app right in 2019 should not be trusted to deliver anything with quality.. what a shame!
Dont bother. The fact Canada has a different app than the US, but still with similar functions is ridiculous. Simply download the .apk file for the US app. Far better, amd works without issue.
Has not worked in months. No support from BMW! Spend that much on a car and then terrible after sales support. All remote functions have apparently been cancelled by BMW without notice!
This App ceased to function properly about 3 weeks ago. i contacted support by email and no ETA when it will be fixed. BMW please fix this. Your competition is now way ahead of you. Some car companies even allow you to start your car with an Android or IOS App.
All of a sudden it stopped working...I can't login anymore. It shows an error message on login screen. Very disappointing.

Error connecting to app server. What's the point of paying for a service from BMW that is not working. Times must be hard.
Can't login because of "unexpected error" and shows pop-up linking another app that isn't available in Canada. Useless.

I'm getting unexpected error when trying to login. my bmw connected account works fine on the browser.
was working fine and now it doesn't work and says connecting issue to connected drive server.
Very limited compare to US version. And it is not working all the time.
Out of the blue the app started to show an "unexpected error" when I try to login while I can login just fine on the connected drive web page. So now the app is completely useless as I can't login (I even tried cleaning the app cache...). Besides, it now shows a dialog, when opening the app, talking about a "new" connected app (seems to be the same app available in the US) but I can't download it - the Play Store says it's not available in Canada. That's a really bad experience.
