My Cloud Home

Pretty nice. A status bar would be a good feature to add. Let us know the download progression. Only way to see it is to switch from the app, back to the app. Even then it only shows up for a moment. A persistent one would be nice. Only other issue is the warning that pops up on a web browser when shating a file, stating it is untrusted and could install harmful apps on your device.

Backwards step. Having been forced to move to the OS5 version, it's really lacking any functionality. You can't upload anything other than pictures and video. Forget any documents you may have on your phone, or music. Also ability to stream music has gone. It's basically just a photo library backup. Useless.

The app wants to open every filetype. It's just intrusive because (obviously!) it can't actually do anything with them. Other than that, it does what it says it would. Wish I could use the device the way I want to instead of the smartalec way WD set things up, and that means I'll be replacing this unit with a normal NAS and a bit of automatic photo backup software. It also changes the file date on photos. I was using that. Now I have up write a JFIF metadata to filesystem touch script.

I bought WD Cloud to store photos and files for our flower hybridizing so i could access them via the web. When uploading and viewing files, all you can see is images and only with date info. We need to see filename when uploading and viewing. I can't even choose from which folder to upload from, it just shows me images. That's not useful since we're working with nearly 1,000 flowers at once. If I had known how generic the WD My Cloud interface was, I would not have purchased it. Big regret.

Great app, piece of mine keeping all of your files safe on your drive. There are reviews stating that you can only save photos using the app, that's not quite correct; Using another app like a download manager or file manager, select the file you want to share and then select the my cloud app to share to. Clearly it would be better if the my cloud home app had this functionality but at least you can still do it.

In March 2022, this app still needs a lot of improvements. You can only upload photos and videos, no other formats e.g. pdf, documents, xlsx, etc. Besides, You are not able to, for instance, add photos from a shared folder to your album. Please WD try this app yourself and let me know if you really believe it is fit for purpose. As it stands it is not suitable and sufficient. Come on do something.

This is the best backup system we've used at home. We only store pictures and phone video for the most part. We had our old 8mm movies converted and copied to unit. We could use an online cloud service but with this system we don't ever worry about some service changing or going away. I would like to see some management tools that would stop the drives when not in use.

The hard drive works great. Besides the plex application being buggy at times, I've been very pleased with the connectivity and ability to share files with others. Great buy and app!

Hi Vlc player is not working on your latest update software version for mobile andriod version. It has workes for many years now when selecting vlc to play a clip, nothing happens. Please assit. Both vlc and my cloud is on latest software versions. Thank you.

it's OK but not for the money takes forever to send data. say 10 scooby doo videos in a series. you have to send one at a time even then some/most times never get there also I save in plex and don't get there but into the wd app not good for a well known company that's why a bought it

Terrible since the update today (19 Jan 2021). The app started syncing ALL my 8000 photos again and creating duplicates!! What a nightmare. Please fix it asap. Still not fixed!!! (31 Jan 2021). Online chat is not working. This is unbelievable (2 Feb 2021). New update (13 Apr 2022) same problem! The app uploads ALL my 10k pictures/videos and creates duplicates!!!

Major problems. Wanted to activate the Plex service on my device.... When I go to the do more section nothing happens. When I try on the Web App, I get a server error. Tried contacting support, but no use so far

Music player is seriously lacking. It only allows photos and videos to be uploaded, no other file type. Since when is MyCloud Home only for multi-media? The backup also only backs up photos and videos, nothing else. This is a very expensive cloud with a lot of limitations. Very useful if you only plan to store media. Chromebooks have no internal storage, a cloud is needed, but MyCloud is useless on Chromebook, needs an intigrated file manager like available on Windows PCs.

Software is fine and everything but the transfer speed went from 65 Mbps to 11 Mbps and that too WD technical team could not resolve. Been running it at a miserly 11 Mbps transfer speed for 2 years now without improvement

Great device. Works flawlessly with out the needed maintenance a lot of the other devices require. Just plug it in, set it up and you can relax.

The app is desperate, so it can only open images and mp3 file. mkv file and now mp4 no longer opens to be viewed on the phone. What is this app for anyway? I’ve had My Cloud Home for two years now and you haven’t done anything.

Since the recent update, I have been unable to view my videos using my default video player. When selecting "Open With", it does not allow me to select or play any video player I have install. Please help.

This product has been out for so long, hundreds and hundreds of feedbacks were provided. Yet, WD has still not managed to improve the most desired functions like the ability of document uploads. An expensive product wuth substandard quality. It's more value for money to actually invest in proper cloud storage.

Just started using it week or so ago. Easy setup, ok backup process so far. Backing up 2 phones. Backed up files from Google drive. Feb 26 2021 Running smooth. No issuer's at all. 👍👍👍 Update Mar 7 2022 Running great - no issues. Suggestion for developer's phone app: Add schedule capability for backup so it can be set to run overnight.

The app is very slow and sometimes can't log in at all. The uploading function within the app is also very slow to load the folder I want to import from. When connect the hard disk, can only copy from the main folder instead of going to the sub folder to copy.

Hello, i want to know why this App associate my contacts to: Messages, Voice call or video call? If this is not a messenger app? Please remove this association every time i go to my contacts and want to send a message or WhatsAppMessage the My Cloud Home Icon App associated is there instead a true messenger App. Once happened to me with other App and they Update the App and remove the association please do the same.

I really don't know how how else to put it: This app has two consecutive splash screens and still has to load after they are done. It struggles to display images, it fails to respond correctly to swipes and taps, often progressing gallery views in the opposite direction that I swiped, and sometimes not responding at all. Certain file types simply cannot be downloaded to the device using this app because it removes the download button for any file that's not an image file. This is ridiculous.

Nothing yet no app for android tv on 30/03/22. Western digital did not solve... The problem is not to collaborate togethew the problem is to put your team to make an app for android tv!!!! Bad for android tv users no app. Dear sirs i have many times contacted your team and the reply is that they will send the problem to the tech team. Same answers no solution and finally nothing happens. I am the consumer not WD. I think you are in a mess.since then nothing has change very very bad for users

Great device. Does exactly what we want. Gives us and other people web based access to store pictures remotely. Without monthly fees like Google pictures.

I gave you guys a high review because I love the product but it didn't allow me to edit my review so I deleted it. I HATE THIS UPGRADE!!!!!!! I CAN'T PLAY ANY OF MY VIDEOS. I paid $600 at BEST BUY for my 16t and now it's not working!!!!!!! I trusted Your brand so I went ahead and spent that much money thinking it will get better with time. 😭 I was able to play all my videos any time any where and just cast them to any T.V. Please!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please!!!!!! Please !!!!! FIX IT! 🙏🙏🙏🙏

Great Unit, to really "own your stuff" no fees once you buy hardware easy to setup and extremely useful once you understand its capabilities. only thing that keeps me from giving 5 stars for the app is the lack of being able to set where items will be downloaded to your phone, all videos default to internal storage rather than giving option to go to an SD card (yes some of us still use those) thx

I discovered a way to upload files (other than media) to My Cloud therefore I'm changing from 1 to 4 stars. It would be better (in my opinion) if there was a way to upload files through the app; but I can still accomplish everthing I need to.
