Update Feb 2020... Changed rating from 4 stars to zero. App simply crashes EVERY time I scroll to the bottom of the first page. It no longer works! Sent in several feedback emails. A nice man responded they're working on a solution. That was 2 months ago. Former Review: Now that I can log in, all the perks are available to me. App designers need to add a way in the app to add purchases or rentals not initially recorded in the app so we can get reminders, for instance, to return rented texts.
Crooks. I ordered my books and one digital content(book) in one transaction. For some reason they split it in two transactions but never sent me the confirmation email for the digital content. My bank told me I got charged for both. I somehow got the physical books first in the mail. At the moment they're blaiming me that I gave them the wrong email address while they magically fill my inbox with loan offers and other junk.
Doesn't work very well on the mobile platform. It won't zoom out when you try to type in info. If you click to go back to the previous page it takes you all the way back to the home page & makes you start all over. Not user friendly.
I have literally never been able to so much as open this app save for when I first downloaded it. Keeps "crashing" -- even when I havent touched the thing in weeks, the notification will pop up that it crashed. Fully updated, uninstalled and reinstalled. Oh well.
This app is the worst! I have never been able to order from this app. Whenever I click an item to add to cart the screen dims and freezes. There is no menu to choose from and if you click back it sends you back to the home page.
This is a pretty useless app. I get all of the same content just by subscribing to my college bookstore's newsletter, and I don't have to deal with annoying push notifications or being randomly logged out of the app. Thanks anyway!
What's wrong with crazy ad? I tried to add my book to basket but the ads keep pop up and I cant close it, if I try they will kick me out and I have to research for my book again. And THEY LIE! YOU DON'T HAVE 20%OFF FROM THIS STUPID APP. I used it right after 5min I got the code but they said I can't use it anymore. Ridiculous.
I spent more than 30 minutes buying a sweatshirt because of the 25% discount.... I am a BN fan and still shop there retail from time to time when I have the time to treat myself to this luxury. That said.....unless the app undergoes major reconstructive surgery, it will further contribute to the downfall of BN and that is a shame. Created account - couldn't use it to check out. Selecting a dialogue box during checkout ends checkout process and user is required to start over. Honestly, this app gets a one because it can't be lower than one.
This app crashes often. I can't zoom in on product photos. Descriptions aren't very thorough. A year later and not much has changed. Still not an intuitive app.
App is unresponsive, and has a nasty habit of being conpletely un-openable. Paired with that, it's difficult to even re-install it, as that proess seems to suffer from the same problems.
Never once has this app allowed me to log in or sign up. Even after the update it still does not work. Both trying to log in and sign up recieve errors. No point in having special perks for app members if the app doesn't work.
I went to open the app to enter a give away, but it won't open anymore! I've enjoyed using the app to deal with book rentals and returns before, but now it crashes immediately whenever I try to open it.
The app has been getting progressively worse for days, now. Two days of 404 error and 3 days of Bad something or other when clicking on a sale offer. Now, NOTHING shows up. Not the order I placed when it was working, no sale offers, no student offers, no adds Nothing. Now, its a 503 error. Tried creating a new account. That didn't work, either.
really buggy. constant errors, have to login multiple times and request pages multiple times before anything will load properly. displays less items in store through the app than the webpage when viewing in a browser.
Navigation is difficult. Promotional discount was hard to find. Using the android back button exits the app and loses your place so you have to start all over.
Should be no star. The coder should repeat third grade. It is worthless..It is a complete embarrassment to B&N. The app keeps crashing. I input my information 9 times and nothing happened. I finally despaired of curbside pickup and the clerk in the store for deliveries agreed that the coder and all their higher ups should be fired. One more fail for the app is that it is named "My college bookstore", but the name in the app drawer is "B&N College".
Not working great, and not intuitive.
links to things like giveaways, textbooks, clothing links and promotions pull up blank and never load. The only thing that works is clicking on the "redeem in store" options.
Opened app for the first time ever. I logged in then it crashed. I closed it and opened it again and it keeps repeatedly crashing.
When I tried looking at any of your products, it read "server error". I tried on my laptop and with a different wifi, still nothing worked.
app is slow. also barnes and Noble screws people over. I paid $99 for a freaking used book for college but they didn't have any other ones of that book but used ones. it's sad they take advantage of college students like this. I can say with sincerety that barnes and Noble is awful!
The app does not have buttons once the book selection is made for the search. No search transition icon. Need more work!
Since last update, notifications of Bookstore closed every time phone is restarted or when trying to open app itself. App would not work until I uninstalled and reinstalled.
Unable to find my 20% discount code. I just signed up, which I was given the code but could not copy it in time before it switched over. I'm trying to make a purchase but not without the code first. I truly hope you're able to send me a code so I can finish my purchase.
Ordered one of my textbooks it was back ordered for a month in a half. Cancelled it and got it in 3 days elsewhere. I also ordered a rock and mineral kit paid for second day delivery that was on August 19th still don't have it. And school has started!
I don't usually leave reviews but this was bad. It has its positives but specifically for me, I prefer the physical copy of my textbook. Every option was digital, even the "new print" had the ISB of only the web access code which I could purchase cheaper on webassin. Trying to check other campuses within my district led to major complications since they try to make it easier by telling you what your professor has as course materials instead of what the school has in stock textbook wise.
