The app almost never record trips and it crashes literally every time I exit out of it. I think it's ridiculous that driving at a certain time of night is considered an event. I work straight midnights and enjoy driving around overnight on my days off. I find I have to leave a lot of extra time to go places just to ensure I can be extra cautious with the gas/acceleration so it doesnt misrecord. That is, if and when it ever bothers to record. Very poor app. Needs a lot of bugs fixed.

A very poor app! App sometimes work and sometimes doesn't! I emailed the technician asking how this can be resolved, they told me to check my phone's location, battery, sleep mode, data setting, which they didn't find anything wrong, then uninstall the app and reinstall it again, which I have already done this numerous time! I am fed up in doing this once every 3-4 days!

From the get go this app has been nothing but problems. At first it wouldnt work at all, so I contacted the support team and they told me to look into settings that aren't even on my phone. Then after that it only records about half your trips if you are lucky. The app itself needs some serious work as well. No where does it actually tell you how the percentage is worked out just how many times you have "events" is it events per km or per trip I'll never know. Just hoping I make it to 1000km.

It doesn't accurately track my drives. I'm not having technical difficulties; this app was last updated in May 2018 so it likely has issues with my up-to-date OS. ETA (after receiving the boilerplate response from the developer): I don't need to call a number to troubleshoot. The issue likely isn't my device (given the other reviews below). The issue is this app is out-of-date. I wish the developer would work on the app rather than respond with boilerplate messages.

Awful!!!!!! I have to reinstall this app on a weekly basis, if not more. I park for 5 mins and get out of my car to check my mail and when I get back in and drive the 2 mins home, me checking my mail is a hard stop every single time. Some wide turns (applying little brake) is also a hard stop. It's comical. I could go on. Useless app!

Your discount depends on this inaccurate app. The app, which is poorly designed, uses your GPS sensor on your phone that glitches when it looses the GPS signal and then rapidly moves you when it reaquiers the signal which puts a strike against your driving which is a false positive for a "rapid acceleration" event. Novex (Intact Insurance) is aware of the issue and they don't care. This way, no one can have the maximum discount for good driving because they made it impossible to achieve.

This app is awful. It drains your battery, regularly stops working, and is so sensitive. Doing the speed limit and stopping at a yellow light with plenty of time results in an event. I can only imagine the number of people running red lights to save 1%. Also, driving for literally 10 minutes after midnight cost me 4%. Good in theory, but not ready yet. I will be getting rid of it as soon as I get to 1000km, which would happen faster if it actually recorded my trips properly.

You would think they would fix this app. Doesn't record trips. Fake incidents. And when u call them to explain they act like no such thing happens. Like half of my incidents are wrong and not true. I would send a pic of my trip that clearly shows the GPS recorded me driving through wrong way or not even a road, but they would not clear it. I tested the app. Tried to break hard and drive fast and it showed a perfect trip. Then when i am actually driving good it would give me incidents. Can not pass 14%. The second it would change to 15%, the first trip i take it would ding me for something. CAN'T WAIT TO FINISH IT. Plus it always crashes.

This app is incredibly buggy. It constantly crashes and randomly decides to stop tracking all trips until the user uninstalls and reinstalls it. It fails to catch hard brakes when cut off, but will give tons of false positives stemming from very obvious GPS glitches. Either they aren't checking GPS data against the accelerometer in the phone, or the algorithm to do so is flawed. My favourite event to date shows my car going through an intersection, teleporting back before the intersection, and driving through it again on the sidewalk. That incredibly obvious GPS error is driving up my insurance rates. When I sent a request for help with this issue, they responded by misrepresenting Google's app approval process to imply I was making all this up, and then failed utterly to address my concerns.

I've had this driving app on my phone for about 2 or 3 weeks worked great for a few days and suddenly stopped recording I agree that this app is very unreliable and crashes I phoned in a few days ago we changed some settings didn't work worth a damn still doesnt record what a headache this app is, how are we supposed to save money on insurance if the stupid app doesnt ever record trips???? sincerely very annoyed and frustrated customer.

I am astonished that this app is used to determine insurance discounts. It is so poorly designed. The app crashes frequently, uses persistent notifications, and clearly hasn't been thoroughly tested. If you keep your phone in your pocket while driving a manual transmission vehicle you will will get events for moving your legs. If you drive up and down steep hills you will get events. If you drive somewhere with spotty GPS signal you will get events. If you sit in your living room... events!

This app does not work well. What it considers as hard braking and fast acceleration are terrible. I got 2 "events" yesterday. One was in a 50km zone coming up to a red light, I dont know how much slower you can brake than what I did and the app called it an event. Also yesterday I turned left into a construction zone, with traffic bumper to bumper both in front of me and behind me and the app said i rapidly accelerated. That did not/could not have happened as it was bumper 2 bumper traffic.

Horrible app, the background launcher never launches the app from the notifications, not to mentions that it only ever recorded my first trip ever almost a month ago and nothing since but I have been driving 30-50 km everyday since. The algorithm is flawed, if they need help with the planning of this app, I'll do it, doesn't seem like you need much of a background to make an app nowadays anyway.

This app just doesn't record 99.99% of my trips. I've driving nearly 500km since downloading it and it recorded one fraction if a trip for nearly 4km. Nothing I do seems to help this, I've emailed the company and no response, this is going on 3 weeks now with no response. I alkost swear this app is just to trick you into thinking you'll get lower rates and that they are not fixing it on purpose.

App has gotten increasingly more frustrating to use the longer I have it. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app at least 5 times- as otherwise, it does not actually collect trip data. App also doesn't always record entire trips; but rather bits and pieces and stores "incomplete data trips". I would have completed my assessment months ago, if this app would function the way it is supposed to.

Worst app around. Constantly crashing, doent record data majority of the time and when it does, it records a portion of the actual trip. I generally accept my trips couple of times per day and ive noticed on more than on occasion it will reduce my discount even though ive been on a string of good behaviour! This seems lile a scam if you ask me. Oh yeah, i also ran over some animals in order to avoid the hard breaking penalty.

Been 6 months since I downloaded this app, it registered my first two trips at 40 km total. I open the app as soon as I get in my car, nothing. Novex keeps emailing that I'm not using the app while driving. Hmmm, maybe if you made an app that actually works you wouldn't have to email me. Worst app and worst car insurance company I've ever had to deal with.

I downloaded the app a few weeks ago and with a few drives in, I havent received any data yet to the app. I called for support and they told me delete and redownloaded, turn off phone whole shebang. Only to find out that this app isn't compatible with Android 10 yet and they haven't pushed the update for their app until later this year. Big inconvenience.

Works for a couple hours, maybe one day, and then stops functioning completely. Was told by support to just reinstall when that happens. Terrible app. Update: bought new phone and app works a bit better, but still misses a ton of driving I do. Also this app is constantly running and will drains my phone battery by more than double its usual rate. My advise: download it, get your 1000kms in for the discount, then delete it.

For the last 2 months or so I've been trying to use it....most of the time it works, but lately I've been missing trip information and No data "trips". I work in IT, and haven't seen this kind of horrible app release like this one! This app needs a serious revision and proper QA testing before each release.

I like the idea of the App but it needs to be updated. I don't know how I'm going to reach 1000km within the 9 month assessment period. The App only records part of my trips. Sometimes half, sometimes a quarter of my trips and it makes zero sense. The other day I drove from Toronto to Ajax and then from Ajax back to where I live in Toronto. The App only recorded from Pickering to Ajax and that's all. Fix the app

Constantly have uninstall and reinstall this app for it to register and track my driving events even though I have a Samsung 8+. The improvement on this app has not changed even though I have been in email correspondence on several occasions with customer support. What's the point of support and feedback when you won't improve the product.

Needs updates and bug fixes! Glitches regularly and I have had to uninstall and reinstall a few times, it works for a bit but then back to same issues. Made for older versions of Android also as my upgraded phone tells me. Not a good app as it stands but stuck with it for the program.

It records even the slightest braking as an event. You pretty much need to be at a stop before you touch your brakes. i have had to delete and reinstall the app 3 times already as it just stops working. Having to constantly go in an log your trips is time consuming and not to mention on weekends i sometimes forget if a trip was mine or not. or when you are tunning errands you end up with 16 trips to log. Also why does it have to show you the trip even after you have said it was you.

Just got insurance through Novex. The app tracks every drive, you have the option to choose if you were the driver or not. It then tells you how you did on your drive and how much of a discount will be applied based on your driving. I enjoy the app and it tells me how long and the distance im driving which is great.

Awful App. If i could give it 0 stars i would. Ive been emailing the "support" team for a while now. Ive definately driven over the amount of KM needed to get a discount but the app can barely do the one simple job of recording your trips. Honestly if you got the discount stuff just enjoy the free discount they give you because this app is useless. Its recorded maybe 2 of the hundreds of trips ive made. Dissapointing app and useless "customer service". I got told it was my phones fault 🤷🏻‍♂️

The idea is good (monitor and encourage good driving practice) however the implementation through the app is questionable as no matter how careful you drive it translates into penalties as the app scores repeatedly events (abnormal accelerations and brakings). After inquiring about the event trigger threshold I was told that it is 3.3 m/s2, so one third of free fall acceleration (= 1 g). This is significant but this does not match the driver's perception when I try to correlate with the event.

I noticed that the android app is reporting issues in driving such as hard braking (low) etc. I ignored it for a few times but it is annoying that the app has lowered expected discount %age now. I am also concerned about my good driving record as this app is reporting false events. I am not confident in using this app.

This app is terrible. Does not record my trips and keeps crashing. I have to uninstall and re-install frequently to get it to work. Phantom events are recorded, and the notifications to remind me to select my trip stopped working which is very annoying.

The app is good in theory, but it rarely works. The app stops working about 3 days after I start using it. I get emails from Novex telling me I'm not using the app enough, but if I have to uninstall it and download it every week, it's not really doing its job is it? Utter garbage
