Real life experiences put into game format, Wonderful idea!
This is a great too, but I would like to be able to get it on the computer.
Helping and useful
Nice game....It makes you think.
It’s a very good app for nationless community ( I'm a Rohingya youth)
Very scary and depressing
Very important job. Please share.
D story is not like good as i imagine
I dont even have words
Sad but wholesome
The UNHCR are a brilliant agency, but this app is a waste of time. I suspect a digital agency made it for them for free, hence them not rejecting it. You hardly get to make any decisions, and the story's tedious. Read What Is The What instead. Much more interesting way to find out about the plight of refugees.
The idea behind this game is monumental, but only if it can in fact be played like a game. It must also be socially interactive, though this will dredge up underlying resentments between users. Nevertheless I believe that is, in some ways, the point; the existence of refugees at all is a blight on science, religion, and society. Humanizing the dehumanized is the point yes?
I found this app, actually kept me on the edge of my seat... Pretty fun, it shows the refugees's struggle very well getting happy or sad at the events and the endings i come upon... the only thing is probably maybe have more choices and more timed choices... Overall a great app!.
At first, I did not like the idea of there being a game in which you 'are' a refugee and click through tasks and see if you can manage to get to a 'safe spot', as it simplifies many aspects of their hardship. Nevertheless, this app is to be recommended as it virtually puts you in the situation of fellow humans who have to flee their homes for one reason or another. I hope this makes people realize the hardship of the life as a refugee.
Used to show examples of hard choices. "Gameplay" could put more pressure of time limit to make choices - helpful if there were audio options for under 10yrs who sometimes distrust the small text. Everyone showed seemed to think a little more that refugees are just people.
For a ngo of such global capacity better effort could have been put forward in designing this app to achieve the outcome of increased empathy towards the refugee crisis. The graphics were poor and the automated responses doesn't necessarily generate that sense of understanding in the refugee crisis.
This app abounds in empathy putting you in a situation of ordered chaos with your imagination fuelling the way. It also changes one's paradigm of what "Conflict Zones" actually mean... A great app to understand the brutality of might against the helpless & the vulnerable & what would you do if you were in the thick of things....
Great narrative that seems to capture how a real refugee would make difficult choices and brings attention to the reality of what happens to children and families. Brilliant app.
The app doen't show the refugees situtions imteractively so users won't know what refugees are going through or feel about them infact!
Whatever choice you make, the story goes on the same. You wait for your brother? He gets caught anyways. You stop at your uncle's? No one's there. An ebook or a motion comic would have been better. And I gained no new knowledge nor empathy from this app, because the feelings and thoughts of the characters are never really developed. You would expect more from one of the most famous humanitarian organisations.
The program is simple, and effective enough to give an introduction to the plight of countless voiceless refugees around the world. Count your blessings and consider sparing some of yours to help bless them.
This game puts into perspective what it's like to have to fight to keep yourself and your loved ones alive. This game was very moving. I loved it.
Great stories. Well, horrible stories. I'm a teacher and I plan on using some of these in my class.
It's interesting but could use a little touching up. Sometimes you don't have a decision in what to do and only 2 of them are timed
I live in third world coutry. I know how it feels with so called poverty, wars, lack of chance in finding good jobs etc. Just need to make this game more interesting to play.
It reminds me of those "choose your own adventure" books I used to read as a kid. Could be a good teaching tool.
You hardly get to make decisions and it's quite tedious.
It's very good application giving you the sense of fear of what is going to heppen then...
You could use better visuals and more language options. This app is featured in a school book for 8th graders in Turkey, my students want to try it but aren't proficient enough in English so they can't use it.
