Used to partially work, just enough to check my balance. It recently stopped working altogether. I keep getting a "menu retrieval error" and it never launches. I uninstalled, then reinstalled. Still doesn't work. UPDATE. Cleared the cache and storage and it works again. Still doesn't show payment history. I have to go to the website for that.
The app is very basic with all of the pertinent information there but it does not show the deposits from the employer. I'd like to see this added so I can make sure the correct amount of money is being added each month instead of doing the math with how far in the year we are minus the expenses etc. It often has errors and won't launch.
Worked for a little while and then suddenly stopped working giving me a "menu retrieval error" message. Uninstalled and reinstalled without change. I saw someone else with the same problem and I also have an android. A coworker of mine has an iphone and doesn't have problems. After reading reviews I saw the solution for it on other reviews and it worked. It does what I need it to do so I'll give it at 4.
The app was great, until it stopped working completely. I get "menu retrieval error" every time I try to open it. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling. No luck. Wonder if it's another Android 10 problem. Co-worker has iPhone and his app works. Until this is addressed ( so far not even a response from developer), I give it 0 stars. Useless.
Really awful. Thanks to the person who gave Android instructions for clearing the cache & data in order to get the app to actually open. That helped, but that's where the fun stopped. All I want to do is submit a photo of a receipt. Failed to upload the first time, and did not allow another attempt. Completely useless app. Uninstall.
Unable to take pictures with the app. Used to be able to so I cleared cache and uninstalled from my phone. Reinstalled and tried to submit a claim and take a picture. Allowed storage access but as soon as I hit allow the app crashed. Open again and try to take picture and the button acts like it does nothing again. Have to take the picture separately and then choose from library.
This app used to work well. Now I continue to get an error message saying, "menu retrieval error." I even shut my phone down and rebooted. No change. Then I uninstalled and reinstalled the app. That didn't work either. There must be major bugs in the program which need to be fixed. It's a shame too. The app made it easy to send documentation.
Every time I bring up the app, I get a menu retrieval error. It offers me to press "retry". This does nothing. I continue to get the same error. I have tried to uninstall and then reinstall the app, but this doesn't help, either. This makes it very difficult to review and work on my benefits whenever I want. Very disappointed.
Very frustrating uninstalling and installing five times over the course of a week to try to get past the menu retrieval error. Luckily I thought to read the reviews, and the hint about clearing the data and cache made it work finally. When it works I'm happy with the app but they need to fix this. Don't they read the reviews and see how many people are having the same issue?
I've used this app happily for years. Then it suddenly disappeared from my phone, so I reinstalled it only to find a terrible new version. It only shows the FSA account now, not the HSA. It is prone to error. I'm disappointed that they didn't test it properly before releasing this update.
To those who have the same "web page menu error" that I was getting... if you have an Android device, go into Settings, then Apps, select the EBC Account Assistant app, then select Storage, then clear the cache and the data storage. You will get a message that clearing the data storage for this app will remove all of the app stored data, Yes. Close the app and re-open. It should work fine now.
Poorly written app. Every so often I have to clear out my app data, in settings. Otherwise it gives me the Menu error. (Just uninstalling the app and reinstalling it, does not fix it) Which is total BS. Then if you use the phone/tablets back button, it logs you out. Hire some real app developers. That's what our employers pay you for!
Useless if its not functional, can't even get past the opening screen without having an error pop-up come up. I resorted to using the computer to upload my receipts after having to email the recipients to myself. What a lousy company to allow this issue to consistently and persistently happen. Unprofessional!
Completely Non-functional! This app used to be great, but now will not even open. Launching the app immediately causes a "Menu Retrieval Error" and the app does not function. I have cleared the cache, cleared all data, deleted the app & reinstalled, restarted the phone, all to no avail.
Prior to my current issues, this app was okay. My only (and huge) gripe was you couldn't upload multiple receipts for one claim they needed documentation for the card useage. Now it's useless. I can't upload any documents or even "take a new photo" because either way, the documentation doesn't come up clear on their end so my claim is denied and I need to resubmit. Utter garbage.
Is there any chance this will be fixed in the future? When it works, it is a very convienent way of uploading documents - but I have not been able to get it to work for several months now due to the menu retrieval error. Re-installing works on rare occasion, but it is pretty absurd that would even be a suggestion
I emailed the company about the "menu retrieval error". Below is the reply that I tested and worked on my phone: "To fix the menu retrieval error, you will want to access your phone’s settings and select to view apps & notifications. You will then want to select our app, which will show as AccountAssistant, and then select the storage option for the app. There will be two buttons on the screen, clear storage/date and clear cache, and you will want to select both of these options."
I had the menu retrieval error (Galaxy S9) and just accepted that I would have to use the website instead of the app. But, thanks to the people who took the time to post the solution, I'm up and running again. Overall, it does what I need, but nothing fancy, so 3 stars.
Very useful for transactions, balances, card status, and filing a claim and claim status. The only issue I have is that the option to take a photo of a receipt does not work on my phone. It would be nice if there was customer service support in app.
I've had to uninstall & re-install so many times because of loading error. It's super annoying. If it wasn't also convenient (when it works) for uploading documents, I wouldn't even bother with this app.
Contacted support: see below, it worked. "To fix the menu retrieval error, access your phone’s settings, select apps & notifications. You will then want to select our app, which will show as Account Assistant. Then select storage option. There will be two buttons on the screen, clear storage/date and clear cache. Select both of these options. This will correct the menu retrieval error and allow you to access your account via the mobile app." Your welcome EBC for doing your job.
Needs some major bug fixes. Used to work fine but now I can't even get to the login screen. It just keeps saying "menu retrieval error". Until this is fixed, there is no point in downloading the app, just use their website.
It was working last year, but now the main home page doesn't even load/work. It keeps saying "menu retrieval error." Tried deleting the app and re-installing it already; it didn't work. There are no updates to install, either.
Agree with everyone..... Menu retrieval error has become an every time occurrence. I used to be able to clear cache and user data and then be able to login again. Now I can only clear cache and not user data.... User data is grayed out... So the menu error continues....... Use some of the FSA money that I left in my account to fix this thing!
Keep getting Menu Reload error and can't use mobile app. When app was functional could not take picture of claim documents to attach to claim. I had to take pictures and store them on my phone to upload. Customer service contacted several times regarding tech issues with no resolution. Was told to file via website instead.
Menu Retrieval Error FIXED Got an email today and this worked for my Samsung 8 Plus "Thank you for reaching out to us. To have the menu retrieval error corrected, you will want to access the settings on your phone and then select apps & notifications. You will then be able to select our app, which will show as AccountAssistant, and then select storage. There will be two options available for you, clear storage and clear cache. You will want to select both of these options and then restart the mobile app, which will allow you to log in and access your account from your phone again."
This app use to be great, but since about 2 months ago it is completely useless since it keeps on giving a "Menu Retrieval Error". If at all possible, please fix otherwise there is no point in having it in the app store
Would give 0 stars if it was an option. Haven't been able to use the app in almost a year. Keep getting the "menu retrieval error." Completely useless, looking on the app's developer page that last update was released in 2017....
Please get app updated. So frustrating when "take picture" button doesn't work. Can't add multiple pictures when you have a bill that is a few pages. Please for the love of God use your brain when I put 2 or 3 pages together in one picture and use your computer to zoom in and read it instead of being so lazy at your job and rejecting my picture. Not sure why I'm even typing all this when you won't read it or look into the issues to help anyway!
