My Renault ZOE Range Predictor

An android application for the Renault ZOE electric car from MyRenaultZOE.com. It is used for range prediction: enter the current amount of charge in your ZOE's battery plus your planned maximum speed and it will predict the maximum range that you can achieve before needing to recharge.
Speeds and ranges can be in kilometers or miles.

It currently uses data captured by MyRenaultZOE forum member Nosig. This was recorded at approximately constant speed so the predicted range should be considered to be optimistic if the journey involves significant stopping and starting (e.g. in urban traffic) or any increase in altitude.

If there is sufficient interest then later versions could take account of more complex scenarios, including use of the heater and lights; and also the option to suggest a maximum speed given a required range to be achieved.

Battery capacity can't be changed (22kWh only) - useless for non 22kWh vehicles.

Using a rather complex mathematical equation, this app does a decent job of predicting the Renault ZOEs range based on battery power left and importantly the average top speed of your onwards journey. From a little experience I can say that the App and its maths rule is pretty accurate and indeed helps in planning those longer EV journeys. I would certainly be interested in seeing this app develop further and include more complex items to help plan a multitude of journeys with greater accuracy and detail. I would also be interested to see how the Michelin EV tyres affect the driving distance estimated by this app. Overall good useful app with lots of room for development and improvement! If you drive a Renault ZOE, download this app

Planning a trip? plug in your battery charge value and see how far you can get,or see what effect your average speed has on range...

Really great app. Very functional. No bells and whistles, just does its job effectively. Range calculations seem pretty accurate, based on driving experiences so far. Well done!

Would it be possible to factor in temperature too?
