I love Tello. I use the service and it's been great but I just bought the Galaxy S20+ and the app is broken on here as well as my Pixel 3XL. It must be an all around issue. Absolutely no way to log in so please fix it if you can :]
I would give you 5 stars if you would fix the contacts to sort alphabetically by LAST name and not first name. Make it an option! Also, fix Wifi calling to be automatic and not necessary to open the Tello app to dial. When using the app to call on Wifi your contacts are listed by first name only. This is important especially in buildings where wifi is strong and cell service is weak. Other than that all else works.
I love Tello migration process from another carrier. It was flawless. Their Customer Support is great. I highly recommend this carrier.
You can not receive or text messages. And you cannot have a voice mail messages. These 2 should be add for 4 star rating.
Have had no problems with this app at all. I can see immediately how much data I have left.
Tello is awesome!! I can't tell you how much better it is than everybody else. Cheap prices, customizable plans, and reliable service & data that I can use with my other devices when there's no Wifi through the hotspot function... and they don't charge you extra for it!!! Can't say enough about how much I love their service & options. Plus I'm saving almost $20 each month since I switched from StraightTalk who blocks tethering and doesn't let you customize your coverage on the fly!
For a casual user with changing needs, Tello is amazing to me in the way that one can custom tailor the plan and adjust it as needed; essentially "Have it your way". I am a tough critic to please and it is rare that I find products where attention to detail allows the product to adjust to the varying needs of different people, is full-featured and with good customer service. I'm impressed beyond my ability to describe, thank you Tello!!! (This review is more for Tello mobile than the app)
Can't log on using phone number and password. When requesting one time password it does allow me to log on. After entering number to call then hitting the dail button it flashes to the calling screen and quickly goes back to the keypad screen, that's all it will do. It never calls a number. Update: I see they updated the app. Still doesn't work. Won't make a call. Useless.
So far my experience has been wonderful with the company and the app is very user-friendly I would definitely recommend this company to other people
Would be a fine app if there was a way to change your billing options from the app. I added a credit card and they still used PayPal for payment and there is no way to remove PayPal as a payment. There is no way to say that the credit card is the preferred payment option. Resulting in a $10 plan costing me $40 due to bank fees.
I love Tello! Their prices are unbeatable, they have REAL customer service, and their app is super easy to use. After about a year with them, their pricing changed and my monthly costs DROPPED! That never happens. If you live rural, data and MMS isn't always great, but for the price, you can't beat Tello. 100% recommend.

When calling from the app Bluetooth device not getting connected
Does what I needed it to do, but interface is not very intuitive or well organized. I mainly need to see my data usage, but that is buried under details about calls and texts - I would be ok with having those 3 things displayed separately, or have an option to sort for one.
I have just recently signed up with Tello around 3 months ago. I recieve really decent service for the majority time of my usage throughout the month. There are some areas where i can not use my phones data, and need to switch onto a wi-fi connection. Some contacts have stated my end on calls can be choppy if i am in my basement area. Otherwise i recieve my service, for a great minimal price, & had a quick start up! What is even more catchy is that you get to choose ur plan and its cost's!
Decent wifi calling app. Have to be a tello member to use it. If you are it can be used on any device. The app also allows you to change your plan and many other account activities from it. However It does not allow for incoming calls just outgoing. No texting feature although according to the app they are working on that.
I sure would like the app to work... Put the phone number and password and it doesn't accept. Then put the number and change password but SMS text never arrives. I was able to get it to work on iPhone & Samsung phones but Moto G it won't take.
App suddenly keeps asking for contacts permission every time I open it. If I denied it the first time, stop asking me every time I open the app.
A great app, but the "Activity" section combines all phone, text, and data. Since data is on daily basis, you have to scroll through all your texts and calls to find out how much data you used for the day. It would be much better if you could choose calls/texts/data separately.
It seems to work fine for me. I like that it's easy to get the information you need.
So I decided to ditch mint mobile because they're practicing false advertisement and have fees. So I found tello and so far I haven't tried the service but I can tell you that I love how flexible the plans are. I don't use any data and I'm actually able to pick a plan where I don't have to pay for excess. But my favorite part of all is that there are no other fees and that you can calculate taxes before making a purchase I mean how bloody dope is that! It's DOPE!
This mobile company offers unlimited text and talk and 1 gig of data for 9 or 10 dollars a month is the best deal no matter how far or wide you look. They are nice on the phone and the service is better then all the budget cell phone providers. The one time I called after hours I received a email and text back the next business day. I am sure some individuals will go through number porting trouble. I think that can happen no matter who you are with. The one thing they are very good about is getting your referral credit/money. You do not have to jump through hoops. You make a referral to anyone and you will get a 10 or 20 dollar credit immediate on your bill. I think they are a simple and direct company with good employees at the moment. If you were treated any different write a review...
This app works great with the Tello service, which is also great. I've never had cell service as easy to use as Tello. The only con I see, is not being able to text from within the app, which they say is coming soon. This is my fifth month of using Tello, and I still haven't seen the "texting within the app" feature enabled 🤷♂️
I am not the typical user. I use a cell phone just a few times a month to make calls, almost daily for texting, and hardly use data at all but want it for just-in-case reasons. I download/update apps via wifi. For $8 a month, I get 1GB data, unlimited texting & 300 mins of calls. For me, that is more than I need. I would likely be paying far more with other carriers. If I need more, I can just up tweak the plan for a month & revert back to old plan the following month -- not a big deal really. Recurring auto-payments are a plus also. Only problem there is that if you get a replacement credit-card, Tello won't know & try to bill the old card, canceling your plan. You will need to add that new card for billing & pick your plan again. One annoying issue. I have a Moto G Play 2021 and the phone number shows as "Unknown". Would be nice if my Tello number were displayed.
The app does not clearly tell me when my bill is due. I have to go to order history to see what day, from the previous month. Otherwise it's fine, the prices are good, and I haven't had any problems service wise or with the app. Just wish it would tell me in bold or as a notification, as a reminder, the exact date when my bill is due.
So far, I love my Tello service. The app is easy to use. Everything is designed to make the customer experience convenient and helpful. Great app layout. No frills. No nonsense. I am happy with the speed so far. Very easy to change to Tello with your own phone number. I've switched from Boost Mobile and I will not go back. I promise. Thank you so much.
