Doesn't work with password managers, biometrics, or modern security features It's very much a pain trying to write down (old school) the password each time you go to use this app. And for security, NO ONE writes passwords on paper anymore. GET WITH THE TIMES. At minimum, support autofill, and please add support for fingerprint and face recognition login.
Most of the features that used to work are now broken with the new update. They clearly made no effort to test whether the update actually worked before releasing it. You can get balance information for the previous day's close (it's at least 24 hours after a close before updated balances are available), but that's it. All the other information requests just return a blank page.
I see this appears to be a common issue, but I too just updated my phone and this app no longer works, which is frustrating. Can you please fix or provide an update tp users on this. This app is helpful when it works, until then, a one star rating is what it will get, which right now, appears to be too high of a rating. Will update rating once issue is resolved or users are notified of the known issue.
Based on prior ratings was not going to even download this app. However I did. Works fine for me. No errors. Gives me a nice picture of my TA accounts. Is it as detailed as the website? No. But I don't need it to be. I can see my investments, contributions, performance, etc.
Many other people seem to be having trouble, but the app worked as expected for me. I was able to see my account, contributions, timeline, all that stuff no problem. No complaints. I have a pixel 2 XL if anyone is wondering.
App crashes shortly after the splash screen is displayed. It has never opened successfully on my phone. I waited hoping it was a bug that would be fixed soon, but it's been 3 months and the problem is still there.
Please note that there's a reason why this app has such poor reviews. One of my issues is that the app doesn't display any of my info due to "an encountered error". It's been like that since I downloaded it last week. It's pretty much a pointless app if I can't at least view my account balance. I called Transamerica and the rep that I spoke with was very unhelpful. I'm so glad I didn't rollover my 401k to this company 🙄.
Update : it's mid 2021 and I can add that the app doesn't show up in my app list. Keeps crashing without opening. It looks like this has been the case since the beginning of September 2019! Are you kidding?!
Updated 07/15/2020 Still a piece of garbage. Who puts an app up that crashes when you try to open it. How does a company like this even stay in business. I unfortunately don't have a choice due to my employer forcing us to use this 3rd rate company for 401k. Poor, I waited 6 months to see if it would be fixed. 01/19/2020 Downloaded it and I can't even open it because it keeps crashing.
I have installed and uninstalled this app a few times. It continues to say we are having difficulties displaying your accounts. It's been over 3 weeks. What's the point of a mobile app if it isn't going to function the way it's supposed to. Loading also takes awhile just to receive an error message. SMH 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️
App used to work great....got new phone and it won't even open. Uninstalled and reinstalled but still goes to the open screen and blips out. Won't allow me to login or etc. Went to the website and it let me in. So.....two stars because I know it was great before....
This app does not work with latest Android and Note 10+. Even after uninstalling and reinstalling numerous times. Open App, it closes itself. Wow. With all these one star ratings, how do the Devopers even have a job! This is Transamerica, not Eddie Bob's Pawn and Loan. I'm in disbelief.
App crashes every time it is opened and has been doing this for months. Transamerica obviously doesn't care and has no plans to correct this issue. Not sure why they even continue to offer the application when it is busted.
App does not open right , at all , earlier it opened and froze and then closed . Now it will not open at all. It's a new account first deposit did not show in deposit until a week late . I had to call to find out where my money was and why did the deposit not show. Now second week and second deposit (Friday) it is not showing . Maybe it will show on Monday ? We shall see ! But I still cannot get the app to open and stay open long enough for me to do what I want to do.
Could you please rename the app "Transamerica"? I never think to look for an app called "Retirement." That is probably why several reviews indicate that people have downloaded the app and yet it doesn't appear on their devices--they're looking for the name show on the download page here--Transamerica.
It gives an account overview, but it doesn't give any useful information about the funds I invested in. I see abbreviated fund names and my allocations, but no ticker symbols, no historical or current performance, and no comparisons. Looks like there are supposed to be pdf fund profiles available, which might bump this rating to a 3, but they all lead to error messages instead of the PDFs. I was hoping to be able to research the funds within this app, but I have to go elsewhere.
Crashes immediately upon first loading screen with latest Android software and Pixel 4. I haven't been able to use the app for over two months and send feedback to the support team with no response.
App doesn't work. Used to work fine, can't remember when it stopped. Now it crashes before it gets past loading screen. Wish the company would provide an update.
Just installed the app. It will not stay open. It opens for about 2 seconds then closes by itself. Obviously I can't rate any features if I can't use it.
Just downloaded. App won't even open. Getting a message that says "app keeps stopping" from the site, and have to force close. I have a galaxy s9+ which is almost 2 years old.
App keeps crashing. You can create and app, albeit one that doesn't work, but can't allow a connection to mint? This is 2020 if you haven't noticed.
Not sure why this app is being panned...it downloaded, installed, and oped fine for me. signed in with my standard online credentials and, with no issues, brought up both of my retirement accounts. worked much. better than expected and very handy.
Completely useless, can log in and manage my credentials but nothing else. Can't see any accounts or do anything. Have cleared cache and uninstalled / rebooted / reinstalled multiple times.
Opens and immediately crashes on my Samsung Galaxy S10+. I used to love this app and used it every day. Now it just opens and immediately crashes. Very disappointing that I have to log in using my laptop to have access to my funds.
Just installed this app. App won't launch and start up....error message says app keeps stopping. A picture of two people on bikes shows for about 2 seconds before app stops and crashes.
Terrible application. Such a disappointment after years of using Vanguard. Seriously, it's been months since I've had access to funds and customer service never answers the phone. App continuously says "unable to display account information". Are you even trying? Legal action likely to follow.
Mobile app crashes on launch with Android 9 and 10 devices. Do not waste your time. It has been and issue for more than a year now. It appears the app hasn't had an update in a long time. Tons of reviews here with the same issue. What is being done to address this? Perhaps all of us with this issue should move our investments to a more tech savvy company.
