App does not work and it seems every update since I originally downloaded back in 2013 has gotten progressively worse. Uninstaller and reinstalled several times and still can't use the app. No remote start which comes in handy in this cold climate of Minnesota. Over $40 a month for the privilege of having an app that doesn't do the one thing it's supposed to do. I even made a call to tech support and it still doesn't work. I know the 2013 app is not coming back just fix this one.
This is not a good user experience. Before leaving the office, i have to remind myself to log into the app because it takes close to ten minutes for the app to log the user in.out takes so long, you start thinking that the app has crashed. And it's not just a one time experience. So far, every time I've loaded the app, it's done it. I tried Idaho's the app frequently during the winter to pre heat my car and it's been such a hassle getting the app to log me in. It's a terrible experience
I like the app, very easy to understand and user friendly. I wish it had the capability to inform you that your doors locked or unlocked. It's easy to get out and not remember that you didn't like your doors until you get back to the car. I know Lexus has this capabilities because my wife brags about it all the time. Please update this feature i think this would be great. Thanks
I'm surprised so many people give this app poor reviews. It's awesome. Loads up quick, also can log in with my finger print. You can even link your Google assistant so you can say "hey google" "start my car" and it will start your car through voice commands. I even have Google assistant on my smart watch so I can start my car, lock or unlock just from voice commands on the watch. I love this app, I've had my cadillac for a year and a half and I've never ran into any issues with the app.
Definitely would give a negative star as it won't let me have a pin code I have to sign in each time I want to use the app...I do not want to use biometric I would like a pin code and I would also like to be able to cancel or change plans/payments like before. Now it sends be to another login page and still won't let me change anything and when I do call customer service they won't let me out of the plan.
Update is not an update. An update is when you move forward not back. Other than the Vehicle Status screen being all fancy looking. That's all it is. Window dressing for an out of date app. There is less information. Used tell you how many liters of fuel you have left, now only gives you a percentage of fuel left😤. And it take forever to show correct km's, fuel and oil life. And why is oil life a priority. Luxury vehicles deserve a luxury app. Step up GM.
Cant use fingerprint now. CADILLAC JUNK February 10, 2021 Update - Pushed an app update on the coldest morning of the year when I'm trying to get to work. Typical poor judgement by GM. Original Review - Super unreliable, worked fine for several months then it was "unavailable". Then it worked again but now its turned cold out, the service is "unavailable" every other day. Pretty typical of the modern Cadillac brand. Unreliable and seemingly too complex for the service departments to sort out...
Latest Update on Galaxy Note 10+ Broke Vehicle Locate. The previous updates have all worked flawlessly. The latest one has caused vehicle locate to never find the vehicle or even fail outright, it simply never finishes the search.
Since the last update I am no longer able to save a password or stay signed in. Have to enter password manually every single time. Sometimes it kicks me out and I have to enter the password a few times before I can enter the app. This is frustrating as I loved the convenience of being able to pull out my phone super fast and unlock/start/lock/ect my car. Hoping for a "remember me" option soon.
Read reviews & respond. Consistent theme throughout ... years of being pleased with app moved to hatred after updates. If new version was free ( like it used to be ), I'd still be beyond frustrated: 1) If I'm carrying anything ( groceries, gym, work ) = I can manipulate phone to enter a 4 digit pin ( previous version ) with 1 hand. Update eliminated PIN, added biometric sign in = try effectively thumb printing with 1 hand. Can't & means everything has to be set down to free 2 hands to access. 2)
The shortcut that allows me to bypass signing in doesn't work. As a result, I must go through the cumbersome task of signing in each time I start the car remotely using my android phone. It previously worked. Very frustrating.
The previous app had much faster response and was more intuitive. I still have to search for the navigation everytime I use it. The graphics are nice, but loss of functionality is unfortunate
That was a waste of my time. Install the app. Must create an account. Must verify account. Must sign into account. Must verify account. Must sign into account. Sent to Chevrolet sign in page. Get trapped in a loop never being able to sign in. Live, Die and Repeat Give up and uninstall app. Update: I took GM up on their response here offering to help. I first tried again and again I got stuck int he same loop. I emailed GM at the provided address and a few days later I was lucky enough to get a response - telling me to call a phone number. they had me email them so they could give me a phone number? I refused to get stuck in that support nightmare. Believe all the one star reviews.
The app is very slow and cumbersome to sign into (makes you resign in every single time, and takes awhile to load). By the time it finally opens and logs me in, the benefit of remote start is mostly wasted.
Has always worked great (I've been using it for over 7 years now). But unfortunately has 1 major flaw for me. That's the remote start. In the past once you used remote start in the app, you could extend it by selecting it again. Now once the car is remote started, you only have the choice to stop the engine by selecting it again. Instead you now have to wait until the car turns off (after 10 min) before you can restart it for 10min. The key fob still allows you to extend the remote start time.
The new update is horrible, don't download it! They got rid if the pin feature, and you have to enter your password every time you open the app. Im probably dropping onstar
THIS APP NEVER WORKS!!!! By far the WORST app I've ever downloaded. Complete garbage. Uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times. Called OnStar, can barely understand support. No help whatsoever. Cancelling my subscription. Would give 0 stars if possible.
Every time they update the app they make it worse. Now have to enter email and password each time...pointless. Still can't do other useful things with app like adjust temperature settings Thank you for your response..but the pin was easier and quicker than entering email and password..you have not made the app better in any way
it takes a long time to load and you control temperature settings. the times out amd does not give option to stay logged in. also, the locator feature crashes the app.
The only reason I keep the service and used the app is because of emergency features and the fact that my area in which I work as a long distance from the parking lot and I can remote start my vehicle on a freezing cold day. Now for things I think needs address. The EV status needs to go back the way it was. Were more information was offer like charge history, Kwh, started and end time when it comes to charging instead of - and V for status. Fix those issues and I be happy ELR owner.
New version is backstep,, I love the new look but it's missing a lot of features, I can no longer locate any of my vechiles on it and no longer send navigation stops to any of my cars, please fix this right away as it's useless. But keep the look I think that's an improvement.
