Free to download, My Car Check allows you to check the vehicle details (make, model, colour etc.) of any UK registered vehicle for free by searching using the registration number.
However, the free car check is not enough information to make an important decision such as buying a used car.
For extra peace of mind one of our more comprehensive checks can be bought within the app. For only a few pounds you can avoid buying a potentially un-safe, stolen or debt-ridden vehicle, saving yourself time, money and effort, not to mention the unthinkable consequences of buying an unsafe car. Previously the app would let you see a cars full specs for free, but with the new update you must pay for this. Also you need to make an account to use the app now, with no option to skip. Interface looks better, but overall I think the app is a downgrade compared to the older version .
The new style app is much easier to use and more user friendly. The information provided is accurate and salient. What would give the app 5 stars is the ability to read the number plate from the device camera as well as having the opportunity to manually input the registration number. If this was available I would give the app 5 stars without a doubt but that is just a personal preference. The best app I've used for my requirements.
Rubbish! You have to have an account now. Garbage! Registration should be optional if you want to access searches across multiple platforms, not everyone wants to do this! Taking away the option of searching without registering is garbage!
ive been using this app for years, absolutely invaluable for checking cars specs. then they changed it, absolutely ruining the functionality and practicality of the app. uninstalled. avoid like the plague.
This app worked quite well till recently then all of a sudden I have to give my email and have a password to operate it hence 2 stars. Don't get me wrong, I've got nothing to hide, just I would have given it 4 stars otherwise. New and improved!!! BULL!
It's so annoying that the app isn't synchronised with website account. There's no way to log into the app even if I try to register with different emails When are you going to finally fix it and make it compatible with your website ???
Loved the new update, not particularly bothered about having to register as i dont get any spam emails or even emails from the creators, but now it wont recognise any plates i enter? Have tried to uninstall and reinstall but still not working - even tried with my own car and it says its invalid... v annoying as the app itself provides a lot of information!
Have used for a long time. Was great. Isn't now. Registration is nasty, repeatedly refusing passwords as "not valid". Can't be bothered, will find another more user-friendly app. Update - I registered on the website, very simple. I have access again. Very pleased, this is the best look-up app I have seen.
Downloaded this app and paid for a check on a vehicle I was going to buy. All well and good. Very happy so far. Next time I tried to use the app it had updated/changed hands. My login no longer works.And my previous checks can no longer be viewed despite the fact it cost me £10. Thanks a smegging lot for that!
Doesn't link to online account so you can't take your check with you which in this day and age is unacceptable. Disappointing to see the same company offering a great service online but can't map that on to the app or link databases up. That really needs sorting.
I've been using this app for over 5 years but now its pointless. They say there main point of the app is for History checks but we all know most people use app to check the specs of cars that you see, that's why it was so useful. Now it is pointless. Looks like loads of people will now be uninstalling including me. Bye Bye My Car Check
Had to remove after 4 years of perfect use. as many did I used it to check car model specs for potential future purchase. Not prepared to login every time I need to do a random check. Alternative apps dont require so sadly you have now been removed
So now you have to purchase vehicle specifications? Not a chance, had MCC for over 4 years and im finally uninstalling. Dissapointed... I wouldnt mind so much if there was a flat fee for a year. I'd happily pay this, providing it's in reason. A real shame as I'm sure many will now be uninstalling.
Created an account on the main site, won't let me login to app because it states it needs special characters but it let me create account on site with same password! Other than that good information provided for free.
Not working, cannot login, reset password sending me to link where it say "not found" This was really really good app!!! Also keep pushing me in to website where I am able to login. Please workout issues and I will change review 👍
would have rated it 4 or possibly 5 but not since last update cannot access information like I could considering uninstalling I can understand being charged for a vehicle check and I've always been happy to pay for that information. but I don't understand why you need to charge for performance and silly things like original colour
Who ever decided to change this app has no idea about user quality. This app has been been on several phones and after years of usage is getting deleted off my phone permanently. Great move guys! totally obliterated your user base with this move.
New update is pointless..pay to check for car statistics..no thanks..it was alright before paying for an extended check as that provided genuine data before purchasing cars..now to even match a car model with its plate there is a charge..there's plenty more apps now available that will provide this data for free ..
Fantastic app. I used it to get money off a nearly new car from the dealer. Showed the price on here and asked why there was such a difference and boom £200 off as we met in the middle.
Worked great until today when it logged me out, now will let me login on website but app does not let me login. Going to have to find another app unfortunately. Update support managed to sort this for me very quickly! Back working again. Thanks
Don't work properly end up using internet site . The app is not working .Big disappointment as last year when I first used it all the info I needed to surch for a car was easy to find . Now app not working and site is more complicated to use.
never had any problems.. But recently dont know why it keeps login you out then dose not let u sign in with your password had to reset it many times keep the same password then it logs you out after few days same issue goin to have to delete the app find another app😡
Very easy and useful app for checking out cars. Gives info like make, model and tax, also current and previous mot's.
Hate the update. Cannot add photos any more and valuations can't be linked to the true mileage. It's just been "updated" to try and make me pay for extra info.
Easy to use, gives a reasonable idea of used car values and the bundles make it cheap to do a full history check.
used to be useful app but the new update has made it unusable. cant check car data, cant register, cant sign in! pointless app! return to original app and get your custom back! I'm uninstalling as waisted space now!
Hate the update. Have to login to see basic vehicle details now. Uninstalled until this is fixed. Edit: I appreciate why you've added registration but why force users to use it? I don't want to register.
I used to use this app all the time whenever I spotted an interesting car and wanted to know what it was, and to buy checks on cars before I bought them. I loved it. Now however, I see a nice car, put the reg in, then it says I'm not logged in and loses the reg I'd put in, by which time the car has often gone and my short term memory is useless! Very poor user experience now. Now I can't even log back into it. Very frustrating. Such a shame.
