MyCityBus
When the MyCityBus app is downloaded on a rider’s phone, geolocation determines the closest bus stops to their location. And with one screen-tap, riders can view estimated departure times for the next buses and routes servicing these stops.
By selecting a favorite location or route, or entering a starting point and destination, riders can get real-time GPS-based information for all possible bus options. A trip planner can also make future transit plans. Riders can track the location, estimated departure time and passenger load of the selected bus on an interactive map powered by Google.
From their customer account, riders can subscribe to receive text, email or push-notifications containing bus departure information, including one-time or recurring notifications for specific routes, days and times. Another feature identifies detoured routes and temporary stops.
CityBus can also post news stories about weather, detours, or community events, publish route-specific or general news, or add pictures or video content.
Riders without data plans can get real-time information as well by texting a designated phone number. After inputting their stop number, the system will automatically return estimated departure times for the next buses.

When you open the app, it rarely ever loads, leaving you with an error message. When it does load, sometimes the times are all off, saying the bus is due when it's already halfway through the route. This may be one of the hardest apps to actually use because 90% of the time you can't even use it.
Absolutely horrible app. Was on doublemap, which was great. I use the bus a lot less now. This app is a mess. Hard to use, horrible shortcuts. Looking up the map you want is a pain. Getting to the GPS for the busses is like pulling teeth. I'd rather ride my bicycle than even open this map, I'd be much faster.
Do you like busses showing up 30 seconds after the app says they are 5 minutes away? Or maybe you're more into a bus showing as due and never bothering to show up. This app is inaccurate, slow, a battery hog, and crashes all the time. But you dont have a choice, so good luck!
There are a lot of nice features on this app but a GLARING issue is the fact it gives arrival times that simply don't exist. No bus arrives and it just moves onto the next time. Extremely annoying when you could've gone to a different stop and actually caught the bus. Overall, it somewhat works, but don't plan around arrival times use the bus gps icons
I thought taking the bus would be easy. Thanks to this app I stood in 15 degree weather for half an hour waiting for a bus that never came. I kept trying to use the "plan my trip" feature and it would tell me to take a different bus every time even if I just planned the same trip twice. half the time it told me to just walk the whole way. I ended up getting on random buses until one went past my destination.
If you want an app that doesnt work 90% of the time, this is the app for you! Its constantly crashing, freezing, and incorrect with time estimates. I really hope they didn't pay money to have this made!
Crashes all the time Edit: I deleted the cache as I have been told to do, and now it freezes all the time. I really don't recommend this app if you can use some other alternative.
the developers have really improved this app a lot. it still struggles if you don't have a solid connection, but its usable now and is pretty accurate, and overall most complaints have been solved.
Constantly crashing. Specifically: crashes whenever you transition between wifi and data or if your data drops for a little bit. Doesn't seem to work well at all on andriod phones.
The map of the routes are nice. We have found that the later buses do not show as running. The general app is nice to see where the bus is.
So i am not really seeing the point of the app. Its much easier to just ask google to find you the next bus home or wherever. Google dordnt stop assistance when i depart the bus, it gets me right to the door of where i am going. I guess the app is just dated. Nice try though
"Next times" consistently reports higher than actual numbers. Meaning I leave for the stop when it says 9 minutes, and 3 minutes later I see the bus leaving the stop I'm not quite to yet. Please add some buffer time to these estimates. Underestimation is ALWAYS better than overestimation.
It says no upcoming schedule for the market square bus, doesn't even give a schedule for the 1A bus at all
This app has caused me to be late by saying that the bus I wanted on had already left. The estimated arrival times are always wrong. I liked DoubleMap much better.
Completely unusable on low end phones (Moto G4, etc ). It locks up immediately after opening. Good luck opening the map.
TERRIBLE. Doublemap was 6,332,661% better. Basically a cheaper, crappier version of google maps. What were they thinking?!
Inefficient, dogshit app. Totally a waste of time. Bad UI design makes it extremely tedious to work around.
Went to look at the next bus time, and the app didn't load anything. Tried my wifi and mobile, and cleared app data. Normally it's decent, but I can't use this
Sometimes doesn't show any buses running or stop times. Sometimes times are incorrect. very unreliable
I ride the bus everywhere I travel In Lafayette and this app is very useful and has many options to help me get where I need to go!
App stutters on launch, and becomes unresponsive after a few seconds of use. Android S7
App not showing bus routes. Since two days app has stopped showing bus timings for 23 connector. It currently does not show bus timings for busses going towards lafayette
App usually works great but keeps saying connection refused cant figure it out tried reinstalling and restarting phone and even tried turning on and off my internet

Service for 35 Lindberg Express is absolutely abysmal at times. Students rely on this bus to get to campus, and sometimes the buses just simply aren't at stops when they are supposed to be. If there is supposed to be a bus at a stop at a given time, there better be one there. My money indirectly goes to these busses and I'm not satisfied. Also drivers can be very rude, and sometimes they will show up early to a stop, and leave multiple minutes before they were even supposed to be there.
