Need improvement. The app doesn't allow to reset the statistics. Frustrating! It doesn't provide any structured exercises for ear training and expects you to recognize the intervals by ear immediately which is unsuitable if you are a beginner and not a pfosessional whose ear is already accustomed to the interval recognition. Overall, the app expects too much of you without providing proper training. For ear training I highly recommend the app Perfect Ear, which is well designed and structured.

Really nice and helpful app! Glad I paid for it. But I have one small feature request. So I wish I could create a custom exercise with just one chord. For instance if I want to specifically get better at identifying inversions of the diminished triad, I'm not able to do that because it says "please select atleast two chords".

Great app for ear training, definitely the best I found for free. Only the more advanced excercise are exclusive for the premium version, but if you're a beginner this is one of the best choice you can do.

Super fun, I love it, have my students work with it and recommend it to everybody! I tried dozens of ear training apps and this is absolutely the best one.

In the interval training it is impossible to choose a large interval like an octave because the screen does not show you enough keys on the keyboard....

This one's for the artists! It doesn't look as polished as some of the other apps, but it's got them beat out on exercises. This is the only app I've found at short notice that you can practice scale degrees/solfege with alongside basic intervals. All I'm missing is the ability to set the 'tonal center' to 'random' in the tonal exercises, but it'll be many hours of practice for me before that becomes an issue. The app is made with love, you can tell!

This app has some bugs that need to be fixed. Mismatching of notes in the tonal melodies exercise is a great example. A few of the exercises have told me that I'm wrong on some notes, but I'll play the notes I'm given after doing the exercise and they're off, which means the app is wrong. Its noticeable too, this is something that should he fixed ASAP.

Tried a few ear training apps but this seems to be the best. There seem to be a few added bonuses for getting the paid version but they did a good job making the free version perfectly functional. Would like to see an option to use a guitar fretboard to input answers: my intuitive sense of intervals on a keyboard is vastly improved but additional work is needed to translate that to guitar (my primary instrument). Also $17.99 is expensive for the pro version.

Great app for teaching, students said they learned as they played with the app. Great interval singing with the tuner. Awesome linked with teachers account to keep stude ts accountable for their practice. Some rooms to improve would be: 1. The melodic dictation can be taken from real music instead of random notes that doesn't always make tonal sense. 2. The singing interval exercise is not an option to add to the course exercise.

While the app is overall mediocre in design and use, there is one problem I cannot get over. The low quality of the keyboard sounds makes it extremely hard to identify seperate notes. I expect these apps to use midi devices, but I'd also expect the sample quality to be at least 128kbps, otherwise the excess noise brought on by the low quality will make it harder to determine pitch. It's a dealbreaker for me.

I'm also a conservatory trained musician but with a jazz background and I have to respectfully disagree with the critical review by Al Rise. In jazz the distinction between melodic minor ascending vs descending is not as useful (for ex if you are improvising over a minor Maj 7th chord using Mel minor, or using a mode of the Mel min scale like lydian b7 over a dom 7th chord). The term "Harmonic Major" is as of this posting used correctly in the app btw - a major scale with b6

I've tried many similar apps and this one is hands down the most useful for training your ears. Like many of the other apps you can unlock more exercises for a fee; however, the number of free exercises is so extensive that they will keep you extremely busy for a long time. Definitely worth the download!

Really good. I love the share feature, my students can share to the Google classroom each time they partially or fully complete a set of exercises. Some suggestions: 1. Multiple choice questions especially for melody, chord progressions and rhythms (low level Q. to warm up). 2. A dark theme My students will likely be doing their homework late. 3. A teacher created set of questions to steer them towards their class level and set Q. teacher upload file and student download to access the set.

I am hearing more when there is a 1/2 note down. I am aware right off the scales. So, some answers were given based on knowledge not hearing. Now, I feel I am hearing to add with the knowledge. Thanks

Very helpful. There are a few terms used that differ from my training, but they were easy to figure out. The various levels of difficulty offered and the statistics have helped me focus on areas that need attention. I have been using this every other day for about two weeks. I thought I saw one error in the theory section, but it may have been me.

Very useful and easy to follow exercises! This is a fun way to train the ear!

This is the best ear-training software I have ever used. It offers many types of exercises, such recognition of intervals (both melodic and harmonic), of triads and chords with 7ths and their inversions, and of even 3-note motives. It's well designed and easy to use.

Helps me improve through a challenge, with different levels and ways to test your ear. I struggled a bit with the "movable" C, because I sometimes have absolute pitch and I'd rather have a "tonic" option instead of "C" (in D, the tonic would be "D", but the correct answer here is "C").

It is challenging especially when you're a starting musician or a singer and that is good if you want progress. It picks up my voice quite well, either I wobble in pitch or the app didn't get it right - but remember that the sound we hear inside our head is not accurate as what is heard externally.

I've played guitar for 35 years but never bothered to learn the intervals so I decided to use this app for 10 mins daily over morning coffee and after a few weeks practice I can now recognised intervals on the radio! I'm moving on to the star prize of being able to recognise chords next week. Wish me luck! A great app by the way! Thanks :)

Very good - the addition of singing is really what does it for me as it makes a huge difference pitching the note yourself. I will say I think the specificity of the note in terms of intonation is a bit harsh but it does force you to improve, even if it is a bit frustrating as a non singer.

Haven't gone through all the app as yet but works well so far. For the ear training, have to remember to use the smaller key board if the interval is outside the shown range on the upper one. Been caught a few times, and scolded "wrong".

It is really good app. I tried similar one but this has more options and work fine and most of it is free. I have not been able to go through all options yet (for about two weeks) but till now no problem, so I intend to buy the whoe app for having even more fun without adds! I can recommend this nice app for helping to train pros or amateurs.

jam. t. Dec 11, 2020

I had no expectations of this app but the ratings were good so i downloaded. The functions and instructions are user friendly, listening exercises chart your daily progress so I'm learning while mapping my progress. Its fun, its free and after 2 days of using, i have no regrets

Sar. Feb 21, 2021

It's a solid ear training app. The best out of all the ear training apps I've tried out there. I've gotten a lot better at playing by ear after just a month of use! The free version already offers a lot, and yet I decided to go premium to support the devs. 5/5 definitely download this!

Mar. M. Dec 24, 2020

It's good but there simply have to be more keys shown than the range that's given since some of the correct notes are outside the display. This certainly gets frustrating, all the more since I acquired the Premium edition.

I get the written part. I know what they want you to do. But having a note play then guess the interval by the sound of it, for me it is pure guessing. The user needs to be able to actually hear it before they try it. 30 minutes of guessing gets me nowhere 35% was my best guess. I'lll give it a week but if I am only guessing, I'm not learning. I have been working with ear training a few months, Gives your stats mine show up at 0. Then 10 then 0. Guesses
