Finally I can have local contracts. I have 2 phones. The main phone has local contracts that I use. My with phone did not. Then all my with contracts were showing up on my personal phone. So I deleted them only to find out they were removed from my work phone as well. Thanks to this app I can finally keep them apart. It's sad phones don't let us do such a simple thing. But I'm glad this works. Using Moto G Fast phone
Thank God this app exists. It allows you to create a local account, so you can choose to save your contacts in the phone memory instead of in the cloud, linked to a Google account. I really hope it never stops working, Android 10 and still works fantastic.
Those who can not see the account (the app isn't supposed to have a interface/ icon in drawer) when they try to add new contact, go to "Users and Accounts" inside Settings and select "Add Account". You will see the local account listed there! Add it and voila!!
It has been a great app. It has also worked for my calendar, but the problem I have is I cannot export the Local Account data to import into the new phone, how can I do this? The calendar I use is aCalendar and it relies heavily on synchronising and there doesn't appear to be a way to export from the Local Account in the calendar to import into the calendar on the new phone. I thought Local Account only worked for contacts. Please help.
was working great with google pixel 1. now after the switch to google pixel 3, following is displayed: your phone has no local contact account. the google account will fetch all contacts which are not assigned to any account.... I wish I could submit 2 screenshots to this rating. Of course I have myphoneexplorer installed and a have mylocalaccount installed.
Every time I turned off my phone, all my contacts would disappear. This app fix the problem. It took me a little while to figure it out because there were no directions, but I did. Thank you very much.
Great, still works on Android 9 to restore the basic ability to not share my contacts private data wih cloud providers, since they didn't accept a privacy policy allowing me to share that data.
Extremely useful when you don't want to put your contacts in the cloud and your phone is missing it.
Says"installed" but doesn't appear on any menu or screen. I've added it to system-accounts so its there but how do you access it? Happy to edit my review if someone can tell me how to run it.
Brilliant hahaha! What an Idea! I would have never thought it could be so easy. This saves so much work and time!
It worked great until one day i rebooted my phone in safe mode. All the contacts are wiped out.
Outstanding app to keep contacts without the hassle of maintaining an open gmail account.
STUPID. CANNOT EVEN SEARCH, OR FIND THE APP. DOESN'T SYNC, & IS NOT USER FRIENDLY AT ALL.
Should not be required for such a simple task, but it's a life saver! Thank you! I just wish there was some way to contribute
Does exactly what I want and is very simple and useful. Thanks!
Works faultlessly with addAccount menu option in phone's native Contacts app
Great app. Helps to keep your data to yourself and not to share it with Evil Corp!
This is very easy too use
just lost all the contacts, an error?
Not working on android Q.update needed
I don't see it on my phone.
whats happen on this apps ? is not run
Does what it promises!!!
Amazing app. It works in nexus 5. I'm wondering how come Google has not blocked this app. Used a Xperia Z1, then I got this nexus 5 as an emergency phone. And I admit, this is the first time I share the hate to Google search bar, annoying sync policies to Google account. It's a pain literally, specially if you don't want to be signed to Google account ALL the time. Had some trouble figuring out how to make it work, but after that. It solved above issues flawlessly. Cheers.
I really hate advertising companies that sell our data to governments while trying to pretend they do no evil. This application gives us back some control and removes another slice of data from the Google big brother. This and the Iron browser instead of Chrome, together with addons like Adblock Plus, keep privacy concerned individuals like us out of the active profiling that ad companies are doing. A big thank you to the developer.
Which rock do the google developers live under that they think we all need to merge our google account with phone. I wish I had found it earlier. Gives me full control over how to merge/sync contacts.
It was perfect, until all my contacts were deleted without warning. Best I can figure is that restarting my phone on safe mode a day ago somehow wiped the contact data (since all apps are disabled during safe mode). But, safe mode killing contacts is a major flaw, if that's the case.
