Update 4/2/22: The new update crashed the app so hard it won't even open now. The only reliable thing about the MTA is that it is NOT reliable. The CEOs & other executives just take our money & run. If I could rate this app a negative right now I would. 2021: Doesn't allow you to put in cross streets when making trips with access a ride. Doesn't save your favorite bus lines like it should and overall does not behave reliably especially when needed and it is winter.
I don't recomend the app because 8 out of 10 times it's completely unreliable and will completely misinform you. For example Brooklyn Bridge City Call clock says the train will arrive in 5 minutes but what they really mean is the train gets there in 3 minutes. Causing confusion and uncertainty and unnecessary delays... favorite keep being removed so you have to start over every time you start this app.. I DONT RECOMMEND.... use something thats made by someone other than a MTA developer....
Of late my favorites take an exceedingly long time to load which impedes my ability to know when the bus is coming or which bus would be the best option. The default should be the favorite option. I shouldn't have to click several times before I am able to get to the info I need.
bus searches work sometimes but only when you type half the route number and scroll. if you put for ie q69 it will bring up 0 results. favorites does not save to the favorites page but will show that they've been selected already if you search for the line. and the amount of minutes only shows up sometimes when a bus is enroute. please fix favorites as it will work as a work around for broken searches
App appears to be more stable after the latest update, thank you. Would love to have an option to see both A and B division train schedules when I choose a station that has transfers between the divisions (for example seeing both 1 and ABCD train times at 59th St, or both 1 and AC at 168th St)
Crashes when adding favorites. Updated to latest version on Galaxy S9... go to subways... favorites.... my lines and routea... add lines and routes.... save... nothing showes up. Please fix.
It works maybe a third of the time. It's incredible that after so many years the MTA is still incapable of making a functional app.
Since the last update, the app crashes as soon as I open it on Pixel 4a. I thought the latest update might fix it, but still no joy. :(
Keeps crashing. When it does work, it doesn't tell me how long until the next train. Has a lot of trouble finding which station I'm in, and even harder to find an upcoming station to look up a connecting train.
Since the most recent upgrade, the app opens and immediately closes. Not useable!!usable!!! Don't these things get tested before going live??
I used this app for years when going to school (4years) And I love it cause it tells me how many stops the bus is away and I can know if I can wait for the bus
This is obviously a useful app, but there numerous usability problems. Why do I have to use one app (Train Time) for schedule info, then start another app, then re-enter start and end points to buy a ticket? Especially when entering start and end points is particularly tedious in these apps. This wouldn't be such an annoyance if you could control a decent list of favorites. Nope. You get two. With seemingly no way to edit. If there is a way, it's not in the Help or FAQs...
We don't ask for much. We just wanted a simple and reliable train app to tell us times. We had that with SubwayTime. But MTA had to kill that for this unreliable app that looks great but still feels like it's in beta. If you can open a train route without the app crashing (which crashes often), you may see a train listed that just... disappears when it's 1 minute away. Or perhaps it won't show any upcoming trains for a stop...at all; Nothing listed. Such a shame we lost SubwayTime
App won't stay open. Keeps closing automatically. Awful. Great way for the mta to screw us even more.
This app used to be good to check delays. Now if there's a delay on a train line and you click on the line to find out what time that train is actually showing up, or want to know what the problem is, the app crashes. It will only give information on the lines that have good service. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling but it made no difference.
If it ain't broke, DON'T FIX IT! When it was Subwaytime and bustime app it was the golden age. Apps were near perfect; simple, reliable and useful. This all in 1 monster is none of those. Confusing, bloated, unreliable and downright frustrating. Nothing works! Search is a horrid broken mess. I give up every time I open it. I only keep it in hopes it will improve but like the mta I doubt that will ever happen. What a shame.
Train times have been 100% incorrect by huge margins for months now. The timers inside the stations appear to be accurate but it's not clear why they should have different information than this app does. If the app is just relying on the schedule then it shouldn't provide feedback at the top of the screen indicating when the info was "last refreshed" because this is misleading. If it is regularly updated then it shouldn't be consistently different from the in-station clocks.
I've had a good experience with this app but there is an issue with the app right now. Whenever I have another app open in the background or a few notifications in my notification section, The app closes whenever I try to see a train that is delayed. This also goes for buses. I have yet to see metro north or Long Island railroad but you get the point. Please fix this bug. The app is great otherwise. 👍🏼
There's ees to have been some changes .ade on 1-1-2022. I use the app to check on my access a ride trips. Prior to January 1st a I had to do was open the app, click on the AAR link and I could see the upcoming trips I had scheduled. Now they are asking me to log into my account which I never had to do. It will not accept my log in information. Now I can't confirm my trips. I've had the experience of scheduling a trip then wake up in the morning check the app and find out my trp time was changed.
Whenever I load up the bus tracker feature. The first thing it shows me is a list of all bus stops and where buses are on this route. This list is always inaccurate!! I have to click on a bus stop and look to see how many minutes a bus actualy is.. Since the first menu showing full route is untrustworthy. Also this app does not work on a older Android devices versions 6. It always crashes immediately and closes on my old Android.
Can't add frequently used buses or trains to favorites. Keeps crashing.
It crashes if you look at it. Not even funny, just if you look at it. This is the most unstable software I've ever used in my life.
This app consistently has issues, if it's not one thing it's another: arrival times aren't always accurate (but at least it isn't by a massive margin so that's good I guess), departure from terminals aren't always accurate when it comes to buses, whenever I try to check the buses the app sometimes claims there's an error and I can't see when the bus will arrive as I directed to the Trip Planner instead, and I had train/bus lines and stops favorited that are completely wiped now.
Super helpful for a student like me. It helps me know when to leave. Thank you!
Easy to use. Always real time schedule.
Guess I'm just lucky, it works on my Galaxy A52. No crashes. Some features need fixing, eg when I try to open the FAQ I get an "access denied" message. "Help & feedback" has no help, only feedback. But it lets me find out well in advance when I need to leave to arrive at a certain time, which is important to me. So far the arrival times of trains & buses are pretty accurate.
