I've just bought a nextbase 522 front and rear camera. The cameras are great no problems whatsoever. But the app on the other hand is absolutely frustrating cannot connect to it with Bluetooth have to unpair and reconnect. The fault is not with my phone I have unpaired all my Bluetooth device on the phone and it still doesn't connect. The app it self has a lot of great features it's just a shame you cannot connect to it. Before you say get in contact with a support team you need to sort the app.
The app is OK,but like others have said, I have odd connection issues where I have to unpair the phone from the camera. But my main issue is that saved files will not save to my phone. I've downloaded them via the WiFi so they show in the library, but I can't access them or see where their stored on the phone. I've tried saving to the system once in the library, but the button to do so does nothing.
This app isn't great. In order to connect to the dash cam I have to take it inside so that it can use WiFi. I haven't tried Alexa and don't want to. When I first downloaded it I let it do a firmware update, and it got stuck trying to reconnect to the dash cam because the update deleted the Bluetooth pairing. Doh! I had to uninstall and then re-install the app. It's potentially useful for a quick look at video clips. The NextBase software for PC is much better and I will be using that instead.
Complete garbage app! I have been sitting in my truck for over an hour trying to pull a video. Everything is up to date. The firmware, the app, everything. I even deleted and redownload the app, reconnected to the dashcam, and all it does is says connected, then setting up a highspeed wifi connection with your dashcam. Just sits on the screen. Ridiculous for how much we paid for these.
Happy like the 2 out of 10 cats. After reading the reviews for this app I was doubting the effectiveness even before I used it. So far I think the app is good. Easy to connect to my mobile, easy to navigate and most importantly it's easy to transfers file to save. The quality and clarity if the footage is amazing. I'm using the 322GW. Of I were to improve anything about this app it would be to improve the download speed of saving files. But I'm inpatient 😋 Hope I keep on liking it.
Had the camera about six months now. Did give both it, the app and customer support 5*, but after firmware updates and app updates things have just gone down hill. Started off with no connection issues, then took 15 minutes to connect to GPS, last week wouldn't switch off automatically when turning car off and battery had to run out or turn off manually. Now disconnects periodically and can only reconnect by reinstalling app or unpairing Bluetooth. Can only call tech support so many times.
Absolutely ridiculous. I bought the 522GW, it works on first time but then kept freezing then l bought another 422GW but won't connect after l tried setting it up. I have wasted almost £300 on these two awful camera and won't work. Most annoying this was someone nearly crashed on to me, so l try to play back the video, the camera didn't record it the scene, as it frozes out completely throughout the trip. Right now both app and cam not working. Very dissapointing. Total rip off
one of the worst apps I have used, so bad in fact I returned the camera and got a cheaper dashcam and am more happier with that. The app doesn't always connect to the dashcam, keeps saying waiting on device, I have updated the firmware to the latest and when it does start to work, it is so temperamental, trying to find a clip using an can take about 15 mins as it keeps trying to establish a wifi connection and when looking at clips it just stops mid playback and fails this is also for downloads
Losing it, as this is just frustration inducing. Had a 522 which never worked properly until it finally cacked it by staying frozen and I upgraded to a 622 under warranty at Halfords. Now 2 months later I can't conect my phone over wifi to download videos. It just stays on searching for a wifi connection screen without ever doing so. I have to force stop the app to remove the constant connecting screen. When this works it is a FANTASTIC system, but it is just so buggy! As for Alexa USELESS!
I've owned the 522GW for just over 1.5 years now. The Dashcam is constantly freezing, failing to connect or corrupting saved files. When I have spoken to support team they just tell me to reset it??? I can't keep resetting every video when driving!!!! I've had much better experience with dashcams 1/10 the price do not recommend.
Difficult to find a more poorly designed app - it's beyond useless. It rarely connects to the dashcam and when it does the connection is slow and barely works. If you manage to pair to a device it will unpair after a short period. Just take the dashcam out the car and plug it into your computer.
The app has only ever connected once, its stuck in an endless loop of connecting, failed to connect. Been through setup guides and to customer support but nothing works. I read the app reviews before purchasing and now regret not taking them seriously, the app is useless and it seems customer support don't care. Kind of concerning that there are so many bad reviews for it but nothing has been done to correct it?
Complete garbage. Keeps dropping connection from phone when trying to view footage. When the footage does playback the map doesn't show. This app needs a lot of work to make it useable. I purchased the Nextbase dashcam because of the alleged app connectivity...I wish I'd not bothered!
Really terrible. Will not connect. Brought it back to dashcam installer, who uninstalled app, reloaded it, unpaired and re-paired it, rebooted everything, got it to connect after 15 mins. of diddling around. I have been unable to get it to connect. I don't know why the developer can't figure this out.
Poor connectivity. Doesn't ever seem to connect with my 322GW camera. Can't update the firmware or view files as a result. Used to work intermittently when I first got it. Now just doesn't want to work at all. Expected better.
It's always been temperamental but now the app just doesn't connect to the camera at all. Absolutely useless. Hardware doesn't come with instructions or basic troubleshooters (which I think should be standard even in this day and age). Been nothing but a disappointment. Edit: contacted support. Got a functioning connection for all of 12 hours. I mean, great, I have a fix. But each reset wipes everything so its not that useful if it still won't stay connected.
Absolutely useless. 90% of the time it won't connect to the dash cam. When it does, the lag makes it almost impossible to view or transfer files without ejecting the SD card and manually downloading the files onto a computer. Installed the latest firmware today and it is now completely unresponsive and cannot connect to the camera. As is the case with most apps of this kind, it is totally useless. I will now be uninstalling it from my phone.
Very frustrating app. It rarely will connect to the dashcam (323GW) even when I try it manually. It keeps telling me I need to update to a newer version but keep getting the message "Update failed, try again" and will not allow me to back out. I have to close the app and completely reopen to get past it. It allows me to download the update file via my home WI-FI but installation fails every time. I tried uninstalling and then reinstalling the app but I get the old version instead of the updated.
Useless. Never connects to phone. I've had this camera for 2 years now & today was the first time it actually connected & did a firmware update. Then it lost connection again & I can't get it to connect. Also if you want to delete files from the camera you have to do it one at a time. You can't blanket delete unless you format the SD card. And when I did need a particular file as evidence it hadn't recorded because the SD card was full! Why it won't overwrite the oldest saved file is beyond me!
The app does what it is supposed to do and that part of it is great but one flaw that I think is a major one is that you have to grant permission for the app to connect to the camera automatically. This drained my battery terrible. I mean it was ridiculous. So I uninstalled the app and reinstalled it to try to connect to the camera but it will not not let you connect at all without granting the permission. There should be an option to contact manually each time you want to check something. Fix
Terrible connectivity. Upgraded to a new Android phone, and now it sometimes connects to it and sometimes it doesn't. I was already having problems with the MyNextbase app before and it hasn't improved one bit. Camera works but can't access the device nor files
Very frustrating experience, used to be a better app, camera doesn't stay connected to the app and when you try to connect it never finds it, unless you reinstall the app, have to do this every time you get in the car, needs a new update aur a new app.
Probably the worst app, I have ever used, totally useless. Every time I turn off smart phone/ dashcam, it wont connect to app. Have uninstall everything from phone, and unpair Bluetooth, then start all over again. My smart phone in only a few months, Samsung Galaxy A12.
This app used to work brilliantly. Since the last update I can no longer use Alexa in the car (the main reason I bought this camera). Please sort out the issues as soon as possible and return all the functionality as currently I feel like I might as well have bought a much cheaper brand. Camera and phone have the latest updates so that is not the problem.
It won't connect without me unpairing and pairing back up, all the clips seem to be locked and whenni try to delete nothing happens. What are you doing Nextbase, it's just getting worse each time I use the app. Also i don't seem to get the last few hours of footage when I do get on the app. Which is usually why I want to go on the app. Plus I don't get the map at the bottom of the footage when looking back. I'll never buy nextbase again.
