Unreliable app and unreliable temp controllers. After changing the temp setpoint from either the app or Mysa unit you'll suddenly discover the change silently reverted. The problem appears to be related to multiple sources of truth and how they are de-conflicted. Design patterns exist which would have prevented this even being a possible failure mode... but I guess Mysa was more interested in being fast-to-market than offering a quality product. What can you expect? The app doesn't profit them.
So has not worked for a couple months now. Open app and see everything fine but cannot close app. Change a setting only to find that it reverts back. Uninstalled and install again, now it won't even open. Used to work good not sure what changed.
*current update: took a few weeks for them to resolve but new app works great now, updated review from 1 to 4 stars as Tech support was responsive to my queries for followup on new app fix, turned out well in the end. Would be good if they were more on top of theses software issues, but good work Mysa Team! Original review: App crashes on launch on Samsung s10+, renders the thermostat pretty useless as a smart thermostat, will be returning product to Mysa if they can't solve within a week
Manual and Adaptive brightness seem to have a mind of its own. No matter what the brightness is set at, it seems to keep reverting back to at roughly 50%. I can go back into the app and force it back to 10% at night by toggling the slider but regardless, in couple hrs it will jump back to roughly 50% until I go back into the app at toggle the brightness slider again. This applies to both gen 2 thermostats I have.
New phone. App crashes on startup, can't use it anymore. Very sad. Update: bug was fixed fairly quickly, app is back to its usual good self!
App is untested. Got my mysa installed today. After a day if use, you got graphs per unit, one of the graphs is set point. Go to the day before (when mysa was not installed), set point graph remains. Toggle it off , then on. App will crash. This is basically a unchecked null pointer. This app has no unit tests. Also it already lost connection with two units. i am really disappointed, do they cover electrician fees in their return warranty?
So far this app has been working flawlessly and integrates extremely well. No having to reset anything every few months and no disconnection due some irritating thing. I personally do love this app though it works with Google home so I can use voice commands to change the thermostat and I can set vacation and away tempature via the the app and Google. Plus this app gives you an idea of how much you spend a month on heat. It's not totally accurate or course but it gives you an idea. Which is nice
Mysa App is pretty good. The scheduler is way easier to use now, and the energy use charts are great! Had an issue with the app and the support team promptly responded and solved the problem.
Settings are constantly changing. Everytime I go into the app, my settings are changed from what I selected. I'm constantly having to change my settings to what I selected because the app won't keep my selection saved. Every time I make a change, it says the changes are saved, but when I go into the app again, the settings are back to the original factory settings. This is very frustrating
The geofencing feature is very poor, works about 10% of the time. One of the main selling features and it doesn't even work
My Mysa app immediately shuts down after clicking on the icon on both of my android phones. I rely on this for my AirBnB and now am unable to contr and see temps. Please fix this bug ASAP- Samsung Galaxy S20
Electric baseboard heater. Not compatible with wifi 6. Just updated to mesh router TP link. It refuses to connect even though it says it should. Reached out to support, no response. Had this for only a few months will definitely not recommend or re-purchase as we expand and renovate. Waste of money and time.
Easy to use. Works well with Google Home. Needs integration with outdoor air temperature for temperature setpoint reset. People who can make this happen will know what I mean. Potential for energy savings as well as comfort would be tremendous.
Ridiculously difficult to set up with a Wi-Fi. I simply got a new Comcast modem and it was ridiculously hard to figure out how to make it work. Would not recommend this product face just simply on the app and it's lousy functionality and getting things set up easily.
Ap crashes on opening. I've written customer service, and reported it as a bug through Android, and no response or fix for a few days. Can't reprogram my thermostat without the app. Pretty frustrating.
Thermostats not followimg schedule/shortcuts (away, home, vacation). I have 3 baseboard thermostats (all v1). App has been glitchy for weeks.
Good product with easy to use app. I had some issue with my app and got removed quickly with customer support team.
App is not following schedule anymore. Really annoying. Basically dumb thermostats at this point.
No issues with setup or app. I ask if they could make a billing cycle in the app to follow my bills each month. Love the thermostat and installation was a breeze.
-Thermostat's display randomly gets too bright at night -it would be better to choose more colors for graphs as it's hard to recognize a difference between the bright purple and dark purple -if I set a baseboard to 120V setting, it goes automatically back to 240V
Very imperfect. Please lose the overly bright white background or at least offer a dark mode
Even at 10%, the display is still too bright at night in the bedroom. Since the resolution is 10%, the only option is to set brightness to 0% (equivalent to OFF). Not an ideal solution as I would want to turn it back on every morning. This App should allow to schedule Display Brightness to automatically dim (all the way to 0%) the display at nighttime only. Any plan for this in the near future?
I've had my Mysa thermostat for only a couple of weeks and was able to do the initial setup easily. But now the app is not working anymore. It crashes everytime I try to load it up. I see the startup screen and then it crashes. I tried reinstalling the app but no luck, it just won't work. Very disappointed with my purchase so far, which is sad cause I was very happy at first. It's kind of useless now without the app, there's nothing more I can do than a regular thermostat...
Worked fine till a recent a Droid update and now it crashes everytime I try to open it. This has been going on for 3 weeks and support said it would be fixed 2 weeks ago. Complete garbage.
Got right back to me (under 30 minute response time to an email) when I had an issue and fixed it.
The app keeps crashing when I try to set up geofencing.
Awesome app/system! The touch control on the device itself used to be a big laggy, but since a recent update, now it's really smooth. I'm super happy about it overall! The only thing I would like to be able to customize, is to set a range of when the heater should turn on, and up to what temperature it should be on. My mysa is just above the heater (don't have the choice) and turns on/off too frequently, which is a bit annoying when watching tv.
On the plus side, it does what it's supposed to. Paring to my line-voltage thermostat was pretty straightforward, and the app controls the thermostat as expected. I don't understand how "vacation" mode is supposed to work - the setting for it doesn't seem to do anything. I also wish the app had dark mode (or respected it from the OS) - the all-white background can really be blinding.
I'll start off by saying mysa is awesome, I love the product. The app is reliable and pretty easy to use. The scheduler feels a little clunky though. There is no global setting option for F vs C so every time you change the schedule you need to set that again. It would be nice to be able to just select days, times, and temps for the scheduler instead of having the questions. I really like the data it gives. Having an option to set surge pricing instead of a flat rate would be a nice feature
Geofencing is extremely spotty unless you actively have the app open, and it also consumes enormous amounts of battery life regardless (it's always active, and never in the background). I have other smart devices (August's Smart Lock) that don't consume at anywhere near this rate when utilizing geofencing. Eco Mode also doesn't appear to be actually working, I never see my set point change whatsoever.
