MySword Bible

This is hands down the best bible app I have come across. The level of customization options and information it provides you with is incredible. Not only can you tweak just about everything about the interface, you can also download specific bibles, commentaries, dictionaries, etc. to your device to optimize space. There are so many amazing resources on here for free: maps, family trees, cross references (and the ability to change them), commentaries, dictionaries, etc. I have two complaints that are minor to me, but necessary to point out. 1) There is definitely a lack of standard widely used bible translations (ESV, NASB, NIV, etc.). They have other good translations that make perfectly suitable substitutes (WEB, NET v2, AKJV, etc.), but I've found that in group reading I will usually be one of the only people using a different version. 2) Information, settings, etc. are all stored locally so you will need to back up everything yourself. I don't mind that personally, but people who aren't as tech savvy might find this too tedious. No one wants to lose all the highlights, notes, and content they have generated over several years if their device fails. Overall, fantastic app!

I love this app and have used it on my table, phone and Chromebook. It is easy to navigate and I love the search feature. The only problem I am having, and it has only happens with the Chromebook, is that I weekly have to uninstall and reinstall it because when I pull it up it only shows some verses and others are not visible. I don't know if it is a problem with Chromebook, the app, or the way they function together, but if that were fixed it would be a 5 star for sure.

Excellent Application. Very easy to navigate, all the resources you need right at your fingertips. Makes study easy anywhere, and even assists when you use your home pc and need to open an extra page that you don't have room for on your pc. I love that when you open notes or definitions, it does not lose your place when you return to the text. Highly recommended! Would give six stars if possible.

Best Bible app ever! I've been using it for years and haven't needed another one. Fully functional offline, it's really easy to use - switching from version to version or from one book to another - which definitely helps when I'm sharing in front of others. Also, the search mode is really cool and user friendly. Well done MySword team. God bless you!

This is the most sophisticated and well implemented bible app you will ever find. I've used it for several years on android tablets and more recently on a chromebook. The features on the Deluxe version are too numerous to summarize and over the years, the app has been upgraded a dozen times... each upgrade worked flawlessly and this says a lot. How often have you upgraded only to find some indespensible feature is broken. Not with Mysword. Deluxe version highly recommended.

Great! This bible app is just great! One uniqueness about it is its search engine. It comes in handy all of the time. I am a pastor who has been in full time ministry for 20 years. I began using lexicons and concordances when it was still predominantly hard copies. Later on, I began to use softwares on the PC, and one or two of them are great too! But then, with the advent of bible apps on mobile phones, I began to yearn for something good enough. With this app, my search has long been over!

I have often used this app I deleted on this rather many others I tried because it was very versatile. Plus's the set up made it very comfortable to use. My only improvement would be to make the surches a little Easter and the text copying a little less bumpy. But I have dropped all the others as this seems to be the best of the bunch. I can't see a donation button on my version but would like to give something.

Great portable study aid, and my personal favorite; compares well with my desktop app. The support team is prompt, knowledgeable, and persistent in finding the solution to any problem that arises. An upgrade to their Premium/Deluxe version is a great option in acknowledgement of a contribution to the fantastic work the team has done. Not a quid pro quo, but a good way to say "Well done", and get the best made even better.

Update(?) ruined app functionality. Was easy to navigate but now cannot select book by name. The only way to change books is by using arrows to change one page at a time. Was great until update. Company contacted, I was asked the usual questions (software version, phone type, etc.) No resolve. Uninstalled. I mistakenly indicated Android 10 as software...using 9 Pie.

Lots of features, no annoying ads. Would like to see highlighting that can be limited to the selected text and not the whole verse. But that does not detract from this being a great app. The sample journal is great. Get a feeling that the developers are devout Christians which gives a sense of community. This is a fantastically powerful Bible study tool! The number of Bible versions are impressive! But the best thing is the two Greek-English Interlinear Bibles with Strong's numbers linked to a lite Strong's and a Thayer's definition!!! Also the compare tool to quickly jump between versions on the same text is a great feature. I can't believe that you get all this for free! Some of the Bible versions I haven't seen or heard of before, like the Modern Literal Version and both Interlinears!

5 stars : Very useful Bible app! great collection of commentaries, languages and references, great customizeability, overall great tool for pastors and ministers. -1 star : UI layout and navigation is confusing for beginners, a lot of my friends complains about this. it even took me a bit of fiddling around just to get comfortable with the layout. using Compact mode fixes majority of the UI confusion. Overall I recommend this Bible app!

This Bible app is so versatile and packed with great features. I donated $20 for the Premium version, which added great functionality. Try it! * * * * * after using several years * * * * * I had to restore my tablet to factory and then reinstall MySword. I lost the Premium functionality. The customer support did not reply to my email, nor help in any way. It is the most expensive app I've purchased at $20, yet with the least responsive support as well. I am looking elsewhere.

Wonderful app. I must have tried 20 others..this one DESTROYS the rest. So glad someone still believes in providing what people need. If I had 1 suggestion, please look into providing the navigation from within select options (bookmarks, favorites, etc) it's kind of annoying to have to back out of these sections to the home page just to navigate to a new chapter and verse. Still this app is wonderful!

Powerful app for studying the word when off grid. Features that used to be on my desktop are now portable. Using this app with a giant phone like the Mi Max 2 is very pleasant. Service: I recently had an issue and required MySword team to help with re-activating my Deluxe license. They were quick to respond but replies were almost curt, at times off point. Note that you will have problems using this with Amazon's Fire HD 8 (2018) and MySword cannot and will not support.

It has different translations. I tend to use the New Hebrew one the most. I like the KJV where you can study the original Hebrew and Greek, and Aramaic words. It has a lot of helpful features, like highlighting key verses or saving favorite verses. If you don't feel like reading there is an automated voice that will speak the scriptures, chapter by chapter, book by book. No ads Praise the LORD 🙌

When I am seeking understanding of a passage, I turn to the reference scriptures. My choice for study and depth of scriptural context. References are better than any I can find. The commentaries are also valuable. I've chosen several commentary options to have available for additional reference. One of the least known, best apps available. Must have for anyone who seeks the Lord.

Wonderful tool for research. So many language and translation versions. Plus, many other Bible related research materials. I have been using for years now never had any issues or serious problems. It's helped me out many times to find a reference I've forgotten or get a new insight from the different versions available. THANKS TO THE WONDERFUL PEOPLE WHO PUT IT TOGETHER AND MAINTAIN IT. Love this app. The features are very useful for better understanding the Word. I almost always spend more time studying than I planned - which is a good thing. The note function is very useful as I can write my thoughts as to what a particular means to me at the time and then when I see it later it gives me insight comparing current understanding with previous thoughts many times resullting in a deeper understanding. Would be nice if you included NIV84 bible in the Deluxe version.

Had problem with new update, It caused me to loose my Deluxe activation 3 times. They were helpfull. If you have any problems and have to uninstall you're suposed to deactivate before reinstalling. I did this and couldn't reactivate it. Updates to your device seem to make there system think you have a new device and it won't activate. They absolutely don't want to change the activation process. I just wish you could log in to deactivate online just in case you accidental mess up.

Feature-rich application for bible study. Also, great support. I seeded for the Deluxe edition, which gives you lots of extra features. Several device failures later, I had to contact support to get the app reactivated. Responded within an hour - on Thanksgiving, no less!

as I said before, dont update once you have personal data within this app. this is the only app I have ever lost personal data in due to an update. it completely erases the older version and replaces it so that you have to redownload the bibles and commentaries, etc. plus bookmarks, journals and notes get deleted. this has happened to me from more than one update on more than one phone. I have not always had something like an antivirus or cleaner, nor always used the same one. I love this app tho

Responsive. Great features. Easy to use. I often use the Strong's dictionary - it's much more practical to look up a word on my phone than to use the heavy concordance, and slightly faster than online. This app is a Godsend. I purchased (they call it a donation) the Premium version for $20. There is also a deluxe version for a minimum donation of $50. The premium version does not allow highlighting or note-taking after a 10 page trial. Most free Bible apps have that. When I tried to use the voice to text feature it said I would have to make another donation. Before buying look at MyBibe app - similar, but better and it's free. There many better Bible apps for free. Don't waste your money on this.

This a very good app, user friendly and easy to customize. Room remains for development of a removal tool for bible versions that were downloaded but are no longer required in the app. An addition of more optional bible versions for download to the app so as to make it suit individual user preferences would make it the best. If all these features are available, I see no reason why this app should not qualify for 5 stars.

I've been using MySword for years and I'm still amazed at 1) how many older features I'm discovering 2) the new features/updates these awesome developers provide. When note-taking and journaling, I may type a verse reference without typing out the entire verse. Well I just discovered today the "detect verse" feature that will detect every reference (example: Rom 12:2) and create a link so that I can easily view the note and the reference within two separate windows within the app. On top of that, I can set my notes to Autosave after every minute, which does not interfere with my actual typing. My God, this is awesome!! God bless you developers!!
