App just opens a browser window. Panopto doesn't work (it didn't work on IOS either) and so video doesn't play. I get an error "We were unable to sign you in because your browser is not accepting cookies" even though I am signed in, vookies are enabled, and I habe avcepted cookies. If I can't see the material then the app is useless.
Great app to take your studies mobile. Would have given it 5 stars if we were able to write in the chatter box instead of having to use the desktop version. I have a Samsung Z3 Fold and the screen size allows taking my studies mobile much more manageable.
Course pages are broken and barely usable. App is a pain to use. Easier and better to use the website from the phone.
Love it. No ads easy to use and navigate. And makes it so I can read through material while laying down or on road trips
Horrible there is no Text to Audio. Like who has time to read a screen of words all day or the visual acuity to...please if anyone knows of a way for this to read to me on am android while I drive it would be most appreciated
Does not allow you to access ebooks despite being logged into wgu. You will get an error message. But they will work while accessing wgu through your browser.
I am out running my errands and had to wait on someone. I love how easily I can use app from my phone and get work done. The application is very easy to use and user friendly. Thanks for my making this process non stressful. The program is intense but loving it!! New update: I finished school last year and can still use my email. I actually kinda miss school. Also, I am still in love with WGU, the graduation ceremony was marvelous!!
The WGU app is convenient and easy to use. With my job I have to sit and wait from time to time. During that down time I can study and work in homework. I've use this app for about a month, but have had no problems connecting through the app or issues with the actual app.
Fairly easy to use. I mainly use the app to check notifications and status, but have use it to study when a computer or tablet wasn't available. It works just fine for that. I have not used the mobile app for testing so have no feedback on that aspect.
I love WGU, but there is a lot of content that you cannot open in the app. Since I've to use the app at work it complicates things. I usually have to take notes and go home to view the rest later. This is not very cohesive.
Buggy. Cannot step back from article to course page. Each time I have to re-enter the course. Pdfs do not come up via app. VERY sucky for on-the-fly reading.
I like being able to access my course material anywhere. Sure makes it easy!
I want to like it but it's not user friendly. Can't zoom in or out and everything is tiny or very large images. Takes forever to load or sheet load everything. Works fine until you have to use the keyboard, then you can't see anything but a tiny sliver of the screen.... Maybe if I had a tablet... But then what's the point? Might as well use my laptop. I enjoy the easy communication buttons for mentors and instructors
This app makes it easy to take advantage of any downtime to study throughout the day. Its easy to use and isn't battery intensive either. The only con is some of the course knowledge checks, do not function properly with the phone upright. The only solution I have found is rotating my phone into landscape to be able to interact with the knowledge checks. However, this solution does not always work well when the knowledge checks are drag-and-drop.
A great tool for checking on your course. there are some loading issues when trying to access your course material though, you're usually better off accessing that from the desktop. I would like it more if the app didn't exit as soon as you press the back button, but beggars can't be choosers. Great app overall, almost perfect. 4.5 stars
I gave this app 5 stars for too many reasons to list here, but let me give you at least a few: 1) The Menu Bar I absolutely hate waiting for automated phone lines. Thanks to this app, that's a problem in the past. All emails and direct lines to my most important contacts at WGU are only a click away. 2) The Degree Plan The Degree Plan heads up display is quick and easy to navigate. I can access my current, future or past courses within a matter of seconds. Limited characters end transmission
This is my second time completing college coursework through an online program. my previous university did not have an app. I find this app to be very helpful for accessing my degree plan as well as course materials when I am on the go. The only problem I have experienced is that if I leave the app for even a second, I have to log back in and wait for it to load. Super annoying when I am reading and taking notes in another app on my phone.
Most of the people reviewing this app are only using it as a way to view their schedule or get notifications. They are not using any of the actual content such as the course materials or the pre-assessments. None of this content is in any way formatted for mobile devices. It's very clear that all they're doing is cramming desktop content into a Webview frame. I've tried taking several assessments on the mobile app and each time I had to quit and go back to my laptop because the content was broken or didn't fit on my screen. Trying to scroll around a giant map that would take up 3/4 of a computer screen is tiresome and would consume most of the allotted time for the exam, making the timing unfair. Often when trying to view course material, the Single Sign-on breaks because the version of sign-on that WGU is sending to the other app is outdated and no longer compatible with the other app's API, which makes viewing the content impossible on a mobile device. This app is very obviously a show pony where only the most visible, superficial features work. Just enough for WGU to make a cool video about.
The only thing that needs to be added is a find feature (Ctrl+F). Sure I could open it in the browser but that defeats the purpose of the app. Selecting words also does not work well, particularly with classes that use Mindedge. Sometimes going back (pressing back once) takes you all day he way to the course overview menu.
This is a terrible app for studying. When I click a hyperlink, it renders the web page. But when I'm done, the only option to exit the reading/page is to click on the "X", taking me back to the course home page. I then have two more clicks to get back to where I started. It makes study so inefficient.
This app is extremely helpful when wanting to do school work on the go. I use it all the time. Also, most course applications will run on my android. Some are not yet optimized for android use but for the most part it's not a big deal. Overall I can't imaging not having this app while attending school. It puts your course materials at your fingers anytime you have your phone.
Great App! Makes learning available while on the go!
Convenient and simple. I love this app! It makes studying on-the-go a breeze. It keeps all study material in a great format that mirrors their website. I would highly recommend this app for anyone that finds it difficult or has little time to access a computer. I work full-time and have three children so this app really is a life saver when it comes to keeping up with my studies. Thank you WGU for always putting your students first!
When a student is enrolled but has not been permitted to start orientation and the user tries to login, you don't show any error message. Page simply refreshes. This isn't good ux, please fix this. When I open links from the courses, it opens in the same window and there is no way to get back and I have to start all over by resuming the course. External links can be a browser link and there should be an option to go back
It has been so beneficial to access everything I could possibly need whenever I need it even if I'm on the go.
This is the most user friendly and overall functional app I've ever seen for college. It is complete, concise and extremely useful. Has never crashed and they advise if there will be maintenance. Syncs seamlessly with emails, courses, assessments and tools. I would've given it 10 stars!!
Woefully outdated. Clearly not a priority for most classes to be mobile friendly. Seems like WGU is more interested in profit margin than good facilities for their customers, I mean students. It's clear the university has only 1 or 2 programmers working hard to fill the positions where 30 times that could stay busy, but I'm sure it looks good on a spreadsheet and someone's bonus. If you're looking for quality modern education, not here. If you're looking for a $15k piece of paper, try ITT. Oops!
