The app seems to be trying to play audio all the time. Whenever i open the app, my volume popup dialog goes from showing ringtone volume to showing media volume. I've noticed that the app uses a lot of battery even thought it's not doing anything. The volume issue remains the same if i close the app (i guess it's still running in the background). I have to force stop the app for things to go back to normal.
Onboarded to test the service. I got into the black subscription without really noticing it until it was too late and was engaged into a 1 year contract. I admit being responsible since I should have checked all the details but I felt biased by the onboarding flow. I never meant to signup for this. I ended up paying 70.8 euros to close my account. Good strategy to make cost per acquisition profitable. I hope N26 will reconsider their policy or that the market will take it out of business.
Ok, app has some issues but overall the banking experience is good. Instant notifications when you receive or send money are awesome, and it works for abroad payments as well! Edit: the fact that I have to redo the pairing process once like every month is downright frustrating. Recurring payments are buggy and abroad transfers are limited. No support for desktop transactions so either. Edit 2: support took over a week to find out my policy insurance number, which is crazy long!
So far so good. Is it necessary to log in with the password every month? because i keep forgetting it and it gets quite annoying to have to reset the password every time. a black mode for the app would be nice and convenient for my eyes sort of like the pc website. And i don't understand how to change the icon color... Other than that no problems noted, good bank and good service. I recommend.
A lot better! After few complain N26 app for Android has been improved a lot the past 2 months. All bugs submitted has been corrected and now the application can be used without headache. Thanks dev. I suggestion anyway :-), It will be usefull to add the option to check any payment when the accounting is done? like a checkbox, when it is checked that mean the accounting is done for this paiement. when you are traveling most payment doesn't display in the same order as you paid. Cheers.
I love the push notifications for any and all transactions - super satisfying to get the vibration after i make a purchase. The notifications also helped from a security point - I got notifications that I got a wrong pin (and then 1$was used for purchase somewhere) even though I was at home obviously my credit card info was stolen. ! The quick notification allowed me to immediately turn off my card right from the app (also super handy) and chat with a friendly agent and get this all sorted out . The only thing I wish this could do would be to (I) keep a record of All notifications such as failed Pin attempts. Currently these notifications are lost after swiping away. (II) automatic rules/transfers between the useful Spaces. To help automate saving. I'd really recommend this bank.
If I may "the login with password" positioned in the bottom left, close to the fingerprint reader is very very bad ux design. Since the last update, I always accidentally press it. That's really really annoying. Most people are right-handed and use their thumb on the reader. Think about it...
bugs aren't addressed tho?!! Pretty good. Works exactly like you'd expect. Contrary to what you may read, costumer support through the app chat has been very efficient. But 1/ Photo attachements get dropped all the time. 2/ when I edit a category for a payment, it gets dropped all the time too. I have to re-edit it a few days in a row till the apps remembers it. 3/ also when I edit a category I expect the app to remember the next time when it's the same purchase at the same store every month
Can't get through the documents upload. "No network connection". I tried 2 differents Wi-Fi but same result. I posted this comment without connection... Edit: with another phone it worked. Maybe that with the last update it would have worked on my XZ2 compact. By the way the verification took only a day and I received the card 4 days after the verification.
The app keeps crashing ! There are huge bugs all the time, when you want to pay online and you are supposed to confirm a transaction by going on the app (not possible on your laptop ) you can't connect, then when finally it connects, you click this damn pending transaction to confirm it doesn't work it's very frustrating... The idea of a card with to fees is cool but today i am stuck in Vietnam not able to buy myself a train ticket online even if I have the money ! Very bad app !
The app has been good until the lastest update. I first confirmed a pending transfer in the app and the transfer was still pending. Then I cannot re-open the confirmation pop-up again. I followed the Support instructions to unpair and re-pair the phone, reinstall the app, restart the phone, use Wi-Fi and 4G. Still not working. Then I got told that I had too many login attempts (with correct password) and got blocked for 30 mins. 🙃 Now my money is literally locked. This is very frustrating.
The services of the bank are exceptionally good in comparison to others. Since I make international transactions every month, the in app feature to send money overseas was very convenient. However, since last month the feature is not working anymore. I hope the bank looks into this issue and resolves it as soon as possible.
At the beginning I was happy and thought that it is a great app, but later I needed to change my opinion as the support seems terrible,I'm only getting repetitive answers and no intention to solve the problem. It was a promo with Amazon Premium,I did not get money back as promised.The situation lasts for more than half a year and the only answer I get is that support will contact me when will have more info.It is difficult to believe how it can happen with a modern bank!! I'm super disappointed!
I've been using N26 as my primary bank for more than 2 years now and i must say there haven't been any meaningful improvements in the app or features added. There was i time when i spoke highly of them and invite friends to join but i cant recommend it today anymore. Alternatives like Revolut are just so much better in everything - app, support, features, insurance ... you name it really. I took the time to write this review also because of a bad experience that was the last drop basically. Don't use the Device insurance they offer. It is not "transparent, flexible and fuss-free" as they clam in various ads. my iPhone 13 Pro was forcefully robbed from me and the insurance will cover only around half of the price. Support is not very helpful and the fees, Premium are more expensive than Revolut.
I've been using N26 bank for over a year now and it's been a really good experience. Looking forward to experiencing even better/improved services in the future. The only thing I'd have liked is to have is a bigger monthly limit for card to card top up (it's set at €450) It would've been great. Would also have liked to have an option to have a VISA card too. But all in all, it's very easy to use and user friendly. RECOMMENDED 👍🏻 Please keep up the great work and service
If you have another option, do not choose it. It works, but if you need to talk to someone, it's simply impossible. First, I had a free account with them. I closed and I'm in the process of opening a new paid one, because with the free version I was allowed only to speak with chatbot (stupid as most of them), with all their paid versions you may talk to someone if you need to. Now, I sent them all my documents and data to open a new account and when I open the app it says it's "verifying my ID". It's been like that for a week now. So, you need to transpose all this anxiety and stress creators elements in order to be able to enjoy their services. They're definitely overwhelmed.
They serve all these fancy new stuff but won't let us either be able to use a PIN/OTP for the app login or add a trusted device option for the web version. When I want to login to the web page I need to submit my password twice, once on browser and once on mobile, so that I can confirm the web login. Other banks already support this. Edit: The review is here, it's up to you to forward it to the internal teams. I've already contacted support through my account twice in the last year.
I'm a technology savvy person and work in IT. This bank is the most progressive bank in Germany compared to the other dinosaur banks in Germany. I like the app and their offers. However the statistics data could be better. I wish there was an option to customize and edit the data myself. I'm using another service for that purpose which is way better and pay for it monthly. If N26 could integrate it into the app I would be willing to switch and pay N26 for that feature.
Initially the service was good, but in recent times they don't care. If a mistake is on their side they make sure that we have to use their Chat service (long waiting time) to make a complaint. Next, for them to return the money they do not provide an exact timeline and if you contact the customer support again they will ask you to explain the issue over and over as if they don't know the chat history. Horrible experience with the service and also with the app (error occurs and chat ends).
Very good app. It sorts the spendings in categories. Statistics are useful. Easy to find functions. The only thing I miss is a PIN option for log in. There is only password or biometric ID. I prefer 4-6 digit pins
still free (probably not for long), if that happens, I'm gone, the UX is clumsy and they are very inflexible. They ask me to use a password and SMS verification at each login, also if I close the app for 5 sec.
I like how simple and straightforward the application is. The incomes and outcomes are grouped monthly. The statistics part is awosome to see your monthly finance and categorised. The logos of the companies on the left of the purchases are nice touch. I really would like to use it my main and only account but unfortunately I can not. It's not possible to deposit to your account and it lacks the stock optionality. Some other banks gives you some perks if it is your salary account.
HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE app !! and HORRIBLE employees!!!! tried to open account, and then on the verification step the app kept crashing and freezing. when i finally got in a call. IT FROZE again. one agent was eating and talking to someone in the background while i was there waiting and then hang up on me when I asked if there was a possibility to speak English. others hang up as soon as i said Hello and not Hallo. I GIVE UP!! looking for other options
After downloading and perfectly installed N26 Mobile application. All attempts to have my account registered were never successful. Verification link is not sent to my email on several attempts. Please, work on this issue and have it fixed. Thank you.
Clear and easy to use. Lacks some functionality like references numbers, but otherwise a solid app. update: 05/2022: every time I try to log in, it tells me too many attempts with the fingerprint sensor and refuses anything but password, makes the app really bloody tedious to use.
Many errors with retry message, and the app have a very short session timeout. Awful user experience with this "bank", sepa take a while to arrive and they decline card payments without reason. There is no support, they don't answer email and the chat is useless. And I have a regular account, not a free one. I will cancel it as soon as possible.
