NAPA TRACS
If you are a NAPA TRACS user, load the NAPA TRACS VIN Capture app on your mobile device(s). Next login using secure credentials that may only be found in your TRACS system in the "File, Setup, Parts Catalog" option. Enter your "PROLink ID" credentials in your mobile device(s) and once you successfully log into the app, you may begin scanning VIN's and sending them to TRACS along with optional information such as customer name, tag number, mileage, symptom and more.
NAPA TRACS is a full featured automotive shop management business software solution used by automotive shops across the country serviced by NAPA AUTO PARTS stores. To successfully use this app the following is required.
- NAPA TRACS shop management system software running version 8.0.5.4 or greater.

Horrible app, crashes constantly and destroys your phone. Have to use this for work and it makes your device all buggy. Works about as well as all the people that work for napa... all worthless.
App crashes more often than it works, makes the screen freeze, and when it does work the data i enter doesnt go through half the time or more.
won't scan half the time. if you're not quick enough to input your data it kicks you out.

This app is constantly having problems. I can always scan the vin but half of the time it closes right after. I have talked to the Napa Tracs people and they claim they haven't heard of any issues.
Very glitchy. Sometimes I can enter mileage and license plate info, other times I can't. Would be much more useful if it wasn't glitchy.
Love the app itself. It's just super buggy. A real pain in the neck to get it to work. When it does its great.

The new update does not function at all simply will not take picture ot the barcodes

Works good unless you walk 50 feet away to try to scan, then it just keeps "processing" and eventually gives an "error" code. And don't open the app unless you're near your router or it won't let you open it. Not practical when there is more than 1 vehicle to scan in the parking lot (50 feet away...) Android Galaxy 6
It will not scan the vin, galaxy note 3 does it just fine. The app has been updated as of 2-26-15, still doesn't work with kit kat 4.4.4
Need to fix the glitches and would rate higher. Freezes every time I open up and take a Vin capture.
Does not work on my droid turbo. Won't read the vin and have to manually enter it. Worked great on my droid ultra. But upgraded phones and it no longer works
Use it all the time, only request I can think of though, is if the vehicle is already scanned in, that it pulls up its info rather then just telling you it's been scanned, and leaving you to scroll through to find it
Have lock up issues at times with black screen and only shows vin number
app locks up or doesnt respond causing me to force restart pbone

To use this, hold the phone a little further away from the barcode instead of filling the entire screen with the barcode. It typically recognizes the barcode a lot faster that way. Also, when transferring into TRACS, scan the VIN before adding customer and creating estimate. Then, when you're adding the vehicle, instead of clicking save, click "New Est" and it will transfer notes and symptoms to the estimate notes. I put mfg date, tire size and inspect month in the notes so I can add it as well.
Most of the time it works fine but there are times where it freezes. Also it'd be great if there was a place to put the manufacturer date, tire size and plate number so they all transfer over.
Rock Hill Automotive, everybody from front office to shop tech uses this for saving time and discrepancies would be better if you could have a state selection for license plates and ability to re edit notes after initial scan
While this is a helpful app it is far from full functioning. Vin, odo and plate number work great. But it's missing the ability to record manufacturer date and color. You can record this info in the note but once you save it it can not be reviewed. Your close but please keep going!
Already see flaws. Does not start an RO. Does not seem to transfer and concerns over? All it does is let you add the vehicle to the system. Missing important features. I'll report in a few weeks after trying more
Those of you who say this does not scan bar codes... it only scans vin codes. If you don't know what that is then you don't need this app at all

We have been asking for them to do something about this app for years and nothing gets fixed. Will not transfer anything but the vin. Waste of time using it. Tells me its not compatible with my phone that is 14 months old. Would not work with my old phone or any other phone, Android iPhone old or new GREAT QUALITY stuff here
