I like this app! It's really nice. You can navigate to what part of the Bible you want to read with ease. But when wanting to move to a different book of the Bible or even the next chapter you can't. It would be nice if they had a search function within the app to get to different parts of the Bible. I also don't see a place where I can a bookmark sections of the Bible or store different passages or books as favourites.
I would have rated this app 5 , but the commercials that pop up between selections are annoying and inappropriate. Otherwise, It is easy to go to a verse selection once you figure out how to do it. Like in my printed version, the words of Jesus are in red. Again, if they commercials did not pop up unexpectedly, I would have rated it a 5.
I have been following the Lord for 50 years, and I've always loved the clarity of the NASB. I just wish the "helps" in this app, like the menu, etc, were a little more of a side dish instead of the first thing you encounter. They slow me down when I'm trying to catch up with the readings. I also have your KJV app, and that interface seems easier to use. Not complaining though. I am very thankful for all your work to make the Word available to us.
An excellent offline free bible. There's both a search feature for specific passages and a reading bible that let you read it in order and search without losing your place. When reading, there are options to see the original or literal word for some that have been edited for clarity. A valuable feature occurs with internet access, a daily verse, thoughts on the verse, and a prayer to help you live it. It is always uplifting and encouraging.
I had this app for a while. All worked well. Then suddenly the daily verse, thought for the day, and prayer won't open. I uninstalled it and then reinstalled it hoping to fix the problem. Also thinking perhaps if the was an update that I needed, the reinstall might pick it up. But NO... still can not get those items to work. Very disappointing.
4.5🌟s. Like the convenience of a Bible app. Thanks for this. Things I would change: 1) "read Bible" option brings up Gen 1. I'd prefer a menu of all the books. Not a techie, so struggled with "searching" for desired book until my son told me to tap on the word Genesis--or current book--to get to the menu. ("Search" of book name just gives verses with that name/word in them.) 2) Big changes in font size w/ tiny movemt of cursor. Wd like more variety of smaller fonts. Thx!
So far I really like it. It holds where you left off.. At the next chapter. Easy to get back to, and in the version I chose. Just downloaded it now and read a chapter, then cleared out of it. When I clicked the app icon, it went back.. easy to get where I left it! Also no disruptions this far.
the only app issue i have is; moving to the next chapter of any given book. Its somewhat a nuisance to keep having to go back to the top of the page to click on the next chapter. It should be a smoother transition, just to go on to the next chapter without breaking the rythym of the reading im doing.
The app itself is fine, but the adds make it a terrible experience. The last thing I want to hear are extremely loud, sudden, political ads while trying to study the word. I don't mind ads usually, but these are awful.
Very good Bible App, I love the feature that let's you cross reference by just clicking the link. My only problem with it, it refuses to load when I'm offline, it gets stuck on 100% & when I downloaded it I thought it's an offline Bible App. That's why I'm giving it 4 instead of 5 stars
I like the clearity of the the speech. I love NIV since 1998, but lately I could under stand the context. It was really crazy. I shunned away from it. Then one day my elder was reading from the NASB, and my heart open up. I could hear the word again. I bought the word and an app for when I was out. I haven't stop reading. Thank you.
Works great but I don't appreciate the full-screen ads that appear when I open the app sometimes. However, I do appreciate that it doesn't have a distracting social-media-esque home screen that some other Bible apps have.
Once I figured out how to access books, chapter and verse (it was too obvious and simple that I missed it early on) this app is just what I needed. I like to compare this translation with the NRSV and NABRE to get the fullest meaning. A tutorial on use would be good, but maybe I missed it and it is already there.
Fast and easy to find verses. It doesn't replace my hard copy Bible, which I've had for years with plenty of notes, but thank you for the app - helps me to read the Bible more often (during breaks at work, which I never was able to find the time to do).
A terrific app. The cross reference symbols take a very little bit of practice but are much handier than in other texts. Having the footnotes in the texts gives a greater understanding of the message. BTW this is a great Bible translation
I have just installed this BIBLE. My initial response is that it is readable and the translation is accurate compared to other versions. If you can include footnotes so that those of us who are not theologians can be helped in our studies. More assessment will be sent later. Thanks alot.
App overall is good. I wish you didn't have to open each chapter when you finished reading one. It does offer many different options for verses and studies.
It is very nice for me; because I was searching for NASB version. As NASB is most literal version, I am glad to have it. However, I don't have the hardcopy of it; I am glad to have it in my android phone. Thank you all. The only reason that I gave four star is I can't download any optional versions provided by the app.
The "in text" references and the way the smaller Windows pop up when use them is remarkable. The cross references and other studies that I have learned to you so far I've been extremely helpful.
This is a really handy app. It works well. Doesn't have a lot of the bloated extras. I like that. The ads with sound that pop up can be kind of annoying though.
I like this because its just scripture without a lot of added fluff and easy to navigate. Plus, you can highlight, search your highlights and it saves your place when you exit & return.
great app, I have faced no problems with it. The daily devotionals help me a lot in my spiritual walk with the Lord. Even 2 ads have helped me spiritually as they were from 2 churches. A very smooth functioning app. 5 stars!
Easy to use especially for night readers. It remembers where you least read for ease of picking up where you left off. Perfect as far as I'm concerned.
The readability of this version is smoother for me than some other versions. Due to prior research with original Greek and Hebrew, this version has shown itself to be quite true to the original intent of the ancient authors as inspired by God. In my opinion these qualities make it more enjoyable by not having to stop to research a word , situation, or activity in the scripture.
Exceptionally easy on old eyes to read. A fine presentation on my phone. One improvement is recommended: I like to highlight various Bible passages and send them to friends via WhatsApp, and I cannot do this using this application.
This app is easy to navigate, especially if you're reading from a plan or skipping around a lot. However, the app has loud, obnoxious ads that pop up randomly. This is unacceptable! Bibles are usually read in a quiet, meditative state, in public, or in church. None of these places are conducive to very loud music/voices popping up at random times. I get the need for sponsors, but please at least make an "always muted" feature.
