Great content, as I was expecting. The lack of two basic features on the Android app baffle me: there is no scroll bar on the articles. That means that it is impossible to know, before committing to read the article, how long it actually is. Even more annoying, once I'm reading it, I don't know how much further I have before finishing it. This is an incredibly annoying behavior I've seen in some other apps of reputable publications. Also, please include a feature to change the font size!

Great app, articles can be downloaded, it supports dark theme, and the annual subscription is the price of a trip or two to Starbucks. A+ writing without Right/Left political slant, everyone knows their photography is top notch, and there is even the ability to view the entire magazine, if you prefer that over just clicking on articles to read.

It charges money to use this app. After reading the reviews below how people are being charged multiple times and can't end service without jumping through hoops, I'll just use something else.

Content is great. The app has a ways to go in terms of being user friendly. Am I missing where I can customize alerts? Cause my god I don't need several notifications throughout every freaking day.

I don't see a way to save/link Nat Geo articles from the web - such as the ones featured in the weekly emails. This is one of the key reasons I want to use the app.

I don't like ads in my apps, but if I have to have them then I want them to be as low-key, unobtrusive, and as incognito as possible.

The app is solid. Very well done. The stories are all about how man is a virus upon the earth and how we should all take ourselves out for the sake of the planet, blah blah blah. I'm being facetious of course, but not by much. If you're not a total Tree Hugger, avoid National Geographic. I am 63 and always loved the magazine back in the day. The balance that they used to exercise is gone. Not every problem real or imagined (or in-between) is caused by man. Ice Age Cycles for example?...

How to fix "No Subscription Found". We did not find a subscription in your Google account. According to NG, my subscriptions are linked and I should get access to electronic version. It worked in 2021 and now not at all and no clear fix.

I am grateful for the app and would really love to see a bookmark feature implemented that allows me to seamlessly return to an article

Love this app! I love Nat Geo and to be able to carry Nat Geo with me wherever I go is wonderful! Easy to use app and I'll never run out of things to read now that I have access to every volume since Nat Geo was first published over 100 years ago!

This app is extremely disappointing. One of the main reasons I bought a tablet was to more easily take advantage of my digital subscription to NG and read old issues. Unfortunately, the search feature in this app is useless. I can find no way to restrict results to the "magazine" category, and it doesn't seem to have any of the older issues in the search database. Furthermore, browsing back issues is a hassle (you can only see a thumbnail of the cover-), and not all issues show up. Overall poor.

I've been using the app for about a month now, and I love being able to take fascinating articles with me everywhere I go. It is easy to use and offers various accessibility features (like larger text) for whoever needs them. My one suggestion is a scroll bar so I know roughly how long an article is. Sometimes they are much shorter or longer than I am expecting. Other than that, great app!

No scrollbars, so there's no way to tell how long an article is or where you are in it. And National Geograpic can have long articles. Articles you need to set aside time for, or read in parts. But the app doesn't keep your place, either. The magizine/print view doesn't have two-page mode. And National Geograpic has two-page layouts, especially for their best feature: photos, maps, charts, and infographics. There is also no option to provide feedback, except right here...

Possibly the dumbest magazine style app I've encountered. No way to get out of the horrible dark mode, no way to adjust font size or style, page-by-page view seems to be some low resolution scan (trying to zoom it just makes it blurry), and tapping in the article does not take you to the digital version or to a text only mode. Captions missing. It's just a mess. I expected so much more.

App is pretty to look at but is so much less usable than reading in an internet browser. Many internal links to past articles are broken, you can't zoom in on the amazing photographs, and all sorts of buggy things happen literally every time you open then app. (Most recently, the app has been cutting off the left- and right-hand margins so that reading the articles becomes a bit of a guessing game.) I have also had difficulties linking my subscription to the app. So frustrating.

I love this app but ever since the last update I've been frustrated with the new scrolling function. Ill be scrolling down to the bottom of the article, about to finish and suddenly it throws me back to the middle of the article! I try to finish again and-AGAIN! I get thrown up to the middle. Would give 5/5 if not for this flaw. Amazing articles, easily with the price.

The new app doesn't automatically save your place if you leav and come back. I don't see any way to do it manually either. It's honestly so annoying I might drop my membership if that doesn't change before it renews. I also would have figured with the refresh they'd have added a scroll bar to articles and gotten rid of the need to hit "read more" for the caption on every picture. Who wants to read half a sentence of a caption?

Please put a scroll bar on article text so I know how long it is. When I load an article I have no idea whether it will be a 5 minute read or a 25 minute read. I don't understand why the scroll bar is hidden, it is one of those fundamental user interface elements that's been around for 30+ years. Don't sacrifice usability for purity. Also, a Feedback link in the Settings menu would be helpful.

I've been a digital subscriber for years. Since changing from iPhone to Samsung, I haven't been able to access my subscription through the app. It tells me that no subscription can be found in my Google Play account. I've contacted numerous people and departments from the customer service team and no one has been able to help. I'm very disappointed!

I love natgeo. This application, on the other hand, is a disaster. It is also a cheat. I have paid for my subscription, yet no matter how often I try to sign in I have to change my password. The new password is effective only the one time. The cancellation process requiring a Disney ID number is ludicrous! I'll pass up a refund for all the articles I have not had, nor ever will have, an opportunity to read, I just want out. Of the expense and the aggravation. Spare yourself this site.

App refuses to recognize my subscription. Can't access digital versions of their magazine. Their website is also broken. When you're already signed in and try to look at the archive, it asks you to sign in, then you click the button that resirects you back to the landing page that asks you to sign in. Most annoying app and website.

Once upon a time NG had the best app for the digital version of their magazine that ever existed. Then they killed it to replace the stellar app with a glorified, buggy, wannabe browser. Now they are giving us this monstrosity that performs no function other than to frustrate the user. Slow, unreliable, constantly crashing, and painful to use, this garbage of an app finally made me cancel my NG subscription.

I subscribed to this. Was excited. Then they charged me twice. I had trouble contacting them but finally got a reply that it was for the first two months. No refund. On a limited income, so I canceled. Three weeks later they just charged me again. Won't let me sign in to the account even though it was supposed to be active til April. I guess they will just keep charging me. Very bad business practices.

This is one of my favorite app because it's a lot of thing I can learn about the world so for me it sound good thank you.

Links that say bad url when I click on them in the app privacy section. Blank screens for articles, photos that dont load. Rabbit hole loops that go nowwhere when I seek in app online help. Provide articles on wind power towers on the ocean and not even mention bird migration routes. Only cite trade group in the pros and con of the article. Not meeting my expectations for National Geographic.

There is a problem with the app on my Google Pixel 4 XL where it won't let me scroll all the way through an article. It gets to a certain point and then seems to refresh, taking me back to the top. Essentially I cannot finish an article until this issue is resolved. Very frustrating.

Great news, and interesting stories about nature and history, but the app is a little buggy and the videos often crash after starting. That needs to be fixed. Also I cant find a way to share articles from the app to friends on text on whatsapp! Don't know why that won't be available.

Fascinating stories presented with stunning imagery... Well integrated for reading on my phone.

Love National Geographic. I always want to see more!
