Note:
- Positioning your smartphone correctly in the vehicle is very important to ensure optimal GPS reception and for your own safety! We recommend attaching your telephone to the windscreen with a suitable suction pad holder. Ensure that this is always positioned outside of the range of the airbags!
- NAVIGON is an on-board solution. This means that all map material, voice announcements and system files are saved on the telephone. Therefore no charges or waiting time for data transfer are incurred.
- The version requires approx. 1GB of free memory. Please ensure you have sufficient available mass-storage space (SD card).
- The map material must be downloaded after installing the app via WLAN (WiFi) on the smartphone. Please ensure a reliable and safe connection is available. Download may take more than 15 min.
- on first startup a short data connection (ca. 25kB) is required to register your product

I paid fot the app and now see it's been removed. Why did it stop working.
If you are not on an actual road the program is not capable of guiding you to a road like a GPS does. Pretty useless at times in a country like South Africa.
This app is way too expensive to have no real time traffic data , no traffic at all in south Africa , really , come on people,

good app. Only crashes sometimes
Paid for this app but does not work on my s8 cannot find address when I do search says destination not on installer maps but maps are downloaded and update fix it or refund me
The app is sometimes changing the brightness to fully dark. You believe the device is crashed, but in the dark you suddenly will see the display and can change the settings back to normal. Happened several times. During sunny days you're lost when it happens.
It keeps updating the maps every time before I use, this is a waste of my data bundle, sort this mess out.
Easy to use
A Garmin stand alone GPS is much better. This App is useless if you can't find your destination or POI's ! Navigon is owned by Garmin, but Garmin stand alone devices has a better user interface. It's difficult to find POI's with Navigon; it's a dealbreaker. Navigon should add Google Local Search or similar. I had a GarminAsus Nuvifone A50 (Android phone). Garmin worked like a dream on the A50, just as on stand-alone GPS units, but with the benefit of Google Local Search, etc. I wish I can just get Garmin Street Pilot (or Garmin Navigator) for Android. Other problems with this app (NAVIGON Southern Africa) is the following: 1. The current speed is very small at the top. Sometimes it disappears and you need to press on the i to get it back. THE CURRENT SPEED INDICATOR SHOULD BE BOLD, LARGE, AND VISIBLE AT ALL TIMES. I want to compare my current speed with the speed limit. 2. The User Interface is not as polished as Garmin. 3. Navigon technical support told me they will not fix the problems (unbelievable). 4 The home page of the user interface of Navigon for Samsung looks more like the Garmin interface. 5. The poor reviews of navigon below confirm the problems.
The software does not work properly and the support for this product is very poor. When planning a route on South African maps the district names are shown in the route planner not the town names. Have emailed support but they either don't understand the problem or don't reply. I thought Garmin products are supposed to be good?
App prefers unpaved roads to highway roads - WTF!!!??? Also no setting to avoid unpaved roads. This app took me offroading on farm roads the other day with the main road/highway running about 100m parralel to me - very frustrating! !!
No updates for new streetnames
I`ve tried all the gps apps on the market' and Navigon surpasses them all! With my work I'm on the road constantly and i've never been frustrated with this true gps. It knows all the roads in South Africa. Well done Navigon/Garmin!
Not what I expected.
Got the app this week and tried it a few times and I am quite happy with results. I like how much simpler the interface for finding places is compared to my Garmin Nuvi, also bought the two available ad-on apps and this is just great. I see some people had some problems redeeming the Navigon Cockpit, well it is a bit confusing but I eventually figured how to redeem my new apps, after paying you should restart Navigon go back to where you paid for the app and you will see a ? question mark next to the item you bought...press the question mark and you will be directed to the download of your app. hope this helps.
I have only had this app for a few days now and I am suitably impressed! The attention to detail, both in content and in the smooth graphics, is of a high standard. However, the biggest thing going for this app is the fact that no data connection is required for it to work. I look forward to future development of this excellent app.
Uninstalled in spite of the huge cost. Rather spend your money on Sygic. Much better UI and routing...
Some of the maps don't have Street Names. Search for destination is poor. Hopefully this app will update our I need my money back.
Just installed this on phone for fifth time but keeps freezing as app starts and then closes itself. Cant believe I just waisted more than R300 on this!!!!!!!! I want my money back!!
It's been 2 days since I tried downloading the maps. Every time there some error and I need to download it again. Given you sell this app only in Southern Africa region you could have thought about quality if your servers and taken poor internet around here into account. Fail. And I can't get my money back.
I bought cockpit and nothing happened. I dont have it. Apart from that the software seems good quality and eorth the mobey spent. Please give me Cockpit and you will get 5 stars.

I have downloaded and paid but there are no maps for my country
It takes forever to install and then you have to download the country you live in and you need a lot of data for the things you want to download.
Paid almost R600 and not working at all. Plse contact me asap to sort out or redeem my funds.
i use it a lot. but these days it is all but impossible to locate when directly looking for navigon. none of the garmin navigon apps appear on the search results. Dropped it down to one star now as I am now unable to complete registration on software that I purchased, and can no longer use anymore. Thanks a lot!
